Angad & Kaveri Amma are jhoola-jhulo-ing… & Kaveri Amma (sorry but her name sounds better for me when I say Kaveri Amma!!) asks y is the chatter-box quiet?(Battery is running low!! 😉Change karo change karo!!!😆) He denies it. She says that she understands it is because Suraj & Laxmi are leaving so soon after his arrival. Laxmi (Gowd knows what she was doing there—aur koi kaam nahi hai kya??😕) who had her back towards them, turns & looks at Angad, who is coincidentally looking at her. She shakes her head. Angad agrees with his maasi that he is a bit upset that they wont be able to spend time together, but he is also happy for Suraj. He asks permission to go & freshen up. They both get up & Kaveri, who then sees Laxmi, asks her to join her in kitchen soon. She leaves from there. Angad walks upto Laxmi & says that today he learnt a big lesson about life & goes away.
Laxmi is crying in her room, recalling Suraj's words when he said there is nothing between him & her. Kaveri Amma comes & says y is she crying so much?Then answers her question herself (Seriously Kaveri Amma don't ask questions, if u know the answers!!!) by saying that it is because you are moving away from us, but you are going with Suraj (as if!) but u will come back here only after 8 years. She is sad that Suraj didnt come to meet her today. She reflects that when he left, even she did not behave nicely with him. He is so stubborn that he will not come till she calls him. She is all teary now. Laxmi assures her that Suraj doesn't have hard feelings for his mom. He actually will come & meet everyone before going, especially her & Babuji. Kaveri says the happiness that I will feel when he holds your hands & takes you with him for life will beat the happiness I feel when he comes to meet me. She wipes her tears & asks Laxmi to do her packing. She says don't forget anything otherwise you will panic when the last day comes.
Kaveri leaves.
Angad enters saying that what would you call this- cheating, dhokha or chhal? Why are you doing this? Laxmi says to keep everyone happy. Angad says you will keep them happy temporarily but wont they be shattered when they come to know the truth. She agrees but says that if she is honest now, then they will be v sad. Let them be happy for a little while. Angad says by lying? Laxmi says that she admists that lying is not correct. She knows that she will lose respect when the truth is out, but this is her kartavya (like really???!! ) being a bahu of this family. Uttang is screaming downstairs that Suraj is there.
Suraj & Uttang share a hug. Kaveri rushes down. Suraj then takes blessings of Dadaji & hugs him (y am I subjected to the hug fest all the time😡…like I don't mind, but he never hugs Laxmi😡😡…that would be 1 hug I would like to see!!😳) an emotional Kaveri Amma calls out to him. Suraj walks up to her with his hands folded & asks for forgiveness. She lovingly scolds him & says she is happy that he is now on the right track (wonder if u would say the same if you knew the truth!) They hug. Laxmi happily looks from above. Everyone else arrives downstairs. Dadi says she knows she keeps reprimanding him in front of everyone, but silently has always prayed to God for his happiness. She is so happy that He has heard her prayers. She opens her arms to him & they embrace. Dadi gets emotional. Suraj touches Vijay's feet & they hug too. A close up of other faces(Randal, Shobna, Uttang, Minu) Angad looks up where Laxmi is silently leaning her head on a pillar & crying. Minu Suraj hug. (What a jhappi prone family!!)Mahen says Suraj is wrong. Everyone looks at him. He continues that everyone used to say this earlier, but he knew that 1 day Suraj would prove everyone wrong. Everyone is smiling. Angad again looks up & Laxmi moves away. Laxmi thanks the good lord for returning happiness to the family and asks for strength for what lies ahead.
Kaveri takes Suraj to Babuji's room. Suraj sits & keeps an envelope out on the bed. Kaveri starts a monologue with the coma induced Babuji saying that did u hear that finally our son/sun is shining? Your dreams are being fulfilled. Suraj has embarked on the journey to make a name for himself. Kaveri tells Suraj don't be upset with your father. Teary Suraj says that I don't have a right to be so.After what I have done, I am not even good enough to ask for forgiveness. He falls on babuji's feet & begs for it nonetheless. Laxmi comes in. Kaveri says that her lost son has returned only because of Laxmi. She says that the days of staying apart are over. The trio leave the room together, but Kaveri remembers some work & leaves the duo. Suraj comments on the misunderstanding & doesn't know how to break it to everyone that he is leaving for South Africa alone(itni confusion kyu? Simple solution: Book another ticket & take Laxmi with u!!!😊)Laxmi doubts whether this is the right time to tell them, but Suraj disagrees and says sooner the better, otherwise they will be hurt. In fact he wants to tell them about it the same day. Uttang comes running & says that Mahen has planned a big surprise & everyone is waiting downstairs.
All arrive downstairs, where Vijay is blowing a paper whistle & the aangan is decorated with lots of balloons. Angad, the MC, welcomes the chief guests, Laxmi & Suraj. Tej comes out of a room & stands there(good!😡 No need to mar the family's happiness by your presence!!) Uttang & Suraj have a cute brotherly moment about how many cakes Uttang has already had before choosing this one. Dadi comes in her typical way saying that getting the cake was no big deal, she has actually cooked all Suraj's favourite food! Mahen says that they all are gathered to honour Suraj & Laxmi. Guess which 2 ppl are not happy?? oh well…Shobna & Tej! Suraj is uncomfortable & wants to stop the celebrations. But he is asked to cut the cake first. Suraj & Laxmi do the honours & everyone claps. Uttang feeds the cake to Suraj, Dadi, Dada, Vijay, Kaveri. (Kiski celebrations hai bhai??)🤪Laxmi & Suraj are getting more anxious by the moment. Uttang enquires about the departure date & if the tickets & visas are done? Suraj says that he is leaving the next day. Dadaji says that is too soon since Laxmi hasn't even done her packing. Kaveri Amma agrees. Everyone looks at Suraj…& an oh-so-not-interested Shobna starts leaving when Laxmi drops her bombshell that she is not leaving with Suraj. Everyone is shocked!
Kaveri asks her for explanation. Laxmi repeats that she isn't accompanying him. Dadi says that when we asked you earlier you didn't deny, so what happened now? Suraj starts saying something, when Laxmi cuts in that her going will cause problem for Suraj. Kaveri questions how? Laxmi says that in a new place, she will only add to his burdens. Plus he has got this opportunity after a long time, so she wants him to concentrate solely on his work… Dadaji-dadiji nod in agreement. Laxmi continues that isn't that the wife's duty to take care of her hubby's well being & not become a cause of his dilemmas. In any case, once Suraj is established, he will call her over. Suraj agrees to this story, Kaveri doesn't look convinced but doesn't say anything; Dadaji-dadiji are convinced that Laxmi has taken the correct decision. Angad, Vijay (?), Tej & Shobna are not happy. Mahen also agrees that Laxmi is right as this will give her an opportunity to continue with her studies & get ready for the life out there. Laxmi smiles politely. Kaveri takes Suraj to her room to talk to him privately.
