The director or Saath phere has taken different issues into account.

It's not just Saloni's story realted to dark skin, it also deals with other issues like - Widow remarriage, run-away girl, cheating husband (dheer) etc.,

That's nice. I guess that's what makes this serial special 😊

you're right. piya ka ghar was just too comical. i used to watch just cuz i love, simply love narayani shastri. but honestly, most of the time the scenes were so funny, it's like rimjhim was the only one with actions and dialogues and stuff, and every other member just stands together like a bunch of mannequins. the funniest part was when shweta got everyone except rimjhim out of the house and took them to her house. it was just hilarious when rimjhim turned on the light and the whole family walked in one after another like a bunch of expressionless soldiers that looked like a bunch of lunatics. it was only rimjhim that had a story, everyone else sat together, walked together, breathed together, and acted like jerks together like a swarm of bees.

whoops! this is saat phere forum, shouldn't talk too much about piya ka ghar.
