U CHANGED MY WORLD
standing there with his arms around her avni forgot all her pain and for once in weeks she actually was at peace .why ?
she couldn't miss the inevitable electricity also which was flowing through them .
when his strong arms rubbed her back in an effort to soothe her avni closed her eyes and lost herself in his arms , in that moment.
she didn't even know that guy and the they had interacted only when sameer had hit her with a ball then why was she secretly wishing that time would stop right there .why?
only it's not possible for time to stop.cause just then some juniors raced past them sreaming their lungs out and avni realized what she was doing.
she tried to pull away from sameer but he had no such intentions and because of her crying jag she didn't have enough energy to push him away.
"i 'm sorry "he muttered.
"don't be "avni replied.
"look i m sorry for the way we hit off .i mean me hitting you with a ball and that basket ball match .i 'm sorry for all that .can we ...can we try and be friends..wat say ?
sameer extended his hand towards avni.
avni smiled a weak smile and grasped his hand and there it goes .the same electricity flowed through them.
"hi ..i 'm sameer saxena ."
"avni banerjee."
"nice to meet u miss banerjee."sameer winked at her and avni rolled her eyes.
"avni ..i ...i ..i 'm...umm...i 'm really sorry about your dad too ..and if this makes you feel any better then i don't have a dad either..he ,,umm...he committed suicide because ..umm..my mom..she like ..she kind of ran away with one of his close friends...so see ..you are actually lucky that you atleast have your mom..i don;t have anyone ..i ve been living with prithvi ever since i remember ...his parents were my dads best friends so they like adopted me once ..i had become ..an ..umm ..an ..orphan."
avni was speechless .that guy who was so flamboyant and notorious and whom she had perceived to be a flirt actully had such a tragic past.
thats when it hit her that life wasn't fair to anyone and only those who had the guts to face it with a smile could win the battle against life ..like sameer had...like she would.
"you know i guess thats why i became soo insensitive towards girls ..playing with them and dumping them because whenever i saw them crying over me i could remember my dads face , lying on the floor , his hair matted with flood and froth coming out of his mouth ..all because of my mom , a girl ...it gave me a sense of satisfaction ..i t was cruel i know but ..it was like i was taking revenge from this society for the betrayal of my mother , a woman..."
"why are you telling me all this "avni wondered aloud.
"i don't know i guess because you are special"
there was nothing special about the word special till this moment.
time seemed to have stop right there for avni and she had to acknowledge the warm feeling coursing through her , warming her from inside out...
"umm ..i ..shit ,..my class ...i have to go ..i had told vinny that i needed to use the washroom ..i ve to go ..byee ..sameer."
surreal . ...thats how avni felt when she took his name ...again why ???...she had no idea..
"avni ..wait ..do ..do you like wanna hang out with me and my friends ..like ..u can bring your friends ...today in the break...huh..?
the earnest look in sameer's eyes forced avni to smile a gorgeous smile ..that too in weeks ...
"sure ...bye,,"

TRING TRING
"children remember that you ve an assignment tommorrow on heron's formula ..you all may go for your recess now."
"avni...chal ill treat you today ...you need to try the chocolate cake of matri ..it is the best".damni said punctuating every word.
" umm ..damz , rosh ..umm u guys know sameer saxena right ..."
"so "both roshni and damini said in unison.
"so ..like ..he umm he invited me and you all of course to hang out with him and his friends..."
"what .."both of them said in unison again.
only damini's happiness was reflected on her face and roshni was shocked.
hang out with sameer that means being near prithvi ..damini hadn't realized when she had drifted into prithvi la la land.
those chocolate brown eyes which would light up when he would smile.
that sweat matted hair through which he would run his fingers and the sigh which escaped his lips when he was agitated...
god...prithvi ..
"EARTH TO DAMINI"roshni screamed.
"WHAT DUDE ..I M NOT DEAF ..?"
"yeah ..i cn c dat ...why do ALWAYS GET ALL LOST WHENEVER YOU VE PRITHVI ON YOUR MIND,"
"i do not ..and i wasn't even tinking about him ..i was ..ummm..yeah ..i was thinking about tomorrows assignment ..."
"aha ...thats why you were blushing ..i don't know about you damz but normal people don't blush when they are thinking about maths,"roshni said triumphantly.
avni started giggling ..
"hasle hasle ..mere bhi din ayenge ..ha ni toh .."damini said.
"avni "
avni spun around to see sameer , prithvi , varun and another guy standing at the door of her class.
"umm ..chale ..."
"yeah ..."
"ohh ..i ll do the introductions ..i m sameer ..of course i mean who doesn't know me."sameer smirked "this is prithvi , thats varun and thats armaan and guys thats avni and her friends."
"yeah ..this is damini and thats roshni ."
damini felt all giddy when prithvi smiled at her ...god ...why does he have to look like a greek god always ..
roshni and varun didn't share much except for a cordial hi..only varun couldn't hide the glow which came on his face when roshni smiled at him.
"ummm..so lets go ..."armaan said.
"what the ...it's raining dude ..."prithvi scrunched up his nose.
"amazin"damini squeled.
"excuse me .."prithvi asked damini lifting one of his perfect eyebrows.
"it's raining i mean i love the rain ...lets go rosh ."
damini and roshni rushed outside.
they jumped on the water puddles and splashed water on each other.
"ok people go inside "it was the prefects..."common ..all of u inside."
"god damnit ..what is these prefects problems?"
damini asked ..clearly irritated.
"damz we still have 4 periods to go ...u ll catch a cold ..."
"oh please avni ...rosh lets go to the backfield ..i m sure there will be no prefects there...wat say do you guys wanna come with us ,..."
"no thank u .."prithvi said
"ignore him damini ..prithvi has this thing against rain ...and anyways have no fear when armaan's here ...lets go "armaan said , his face lighting up like that of a child on christmas eve.
all 7 of them ran to the backfield .only prithvi was dragged by sameer.
"wooo..d"damini ran outside and she actually started dancing in the rain.
prithvi couldn't help but smile .he had never seen a 14 year old girl who was not worried about her hairstyle getting ruined because of the rain ..
he was mesmerized by her innocence ..she was actuaally dancing in the rain ..that kind of stuff happened only in movies but this girl ..she was definitely something different ..never had he seen anyone enjoying every moment of life so much ...
avni and armaan slipped and fell down ...avni burst out laughing while amaan guffawed...
god she looks so beautiful when she is laughing ...it sounds like angels singing ...
shit sameer thats cheesy dude...
but sameer could care less because he was completely lost in avni ...
here roshni ran to help avni and armaan up but endeed up slipping herself ...
all three of them were practically beating the ground and laughing ..roshni rocked back and forth while laughing and because of some strange reason varun couldn't take his eyes off her ...
standing in the rain all three boys saw their worlds spinning out of their hands and everything seemed to be changing ...but who knew if it was for the better or for the worst...
