He watched as Adi rushed to Geet' he watched as the elderly lady sitting beside her stroked her forehead and mumbled calming words to soothe her' he watched as she broke into hysteric pleas' he watched as she sat bolt upright before throwing herself into that lady's arms and sobbing incessantly' but when he tried to move towards her his legs failed him. Everything was running past him in frenzy as her cry echoed in his ears, "Get off me'" the inference of her words was hitting him like a pile of bricks and world was crashing down around him. He had a vague idea of what that might mean but as his mind tried to formulate the thoughts, his stomach churned and he felt bile rising up his throat. Every time his heart took a beat, he felt the stab' each breath was scorching his insides.
With great difficulty, Maan attempted to raise his hand towards her as he tried to grab the fragments of his sanity that was fast slipping away from his grip. It was then that she raised her head and saw him. He watched as her expressions changed from grief to shock to horror as she looked at him with wide eyes. And the look on his face conveyed that he had heard it all' she froze. As Adi and Pammi became aware of his presence, Pammi grew uncomfortable while Adi simply looked away. Maan's eyes drifted to the ground as he silently left the room. Geet kept staring at his back till the door of the room blocked her vision. Fresh tears fell on her cheeks as she mourned over the broken pieces of her dreams and her love.
Arjun was seething. Wild emotions conjured his thoughts as he remembered how close she was. She was right in front of him and then she tricked him. "Damn you Geet!" he cursed her as desire to conquer her welled inside him and so did his obsession to make her his flare. If only he would have got his hands on her once he would have taught her lesson for playing such childish games of hide and seek with him. He had already informed the detective agency of the place where he had met her. The fact that the place was close to the hotel had not gone unnoticed by him. And he had also seen Vicky in the mall and had managed to hide himself in time. But he was sure about one thing that the rift he had created between his prey and her savior could never be surpassed. He was more than sure that Geet had not reached Maan yet coz he knew if Maan had an inkling of his little devious plan he wouldn't have spared him at all. Over all he was enjoying this thrill. His little game had started treading dangerous path but that didn't deter him as the lure of the goal was more overwhelming than all.

It was his fault... it was all his fault... her misery was coursing through his veins... had he not left her alone... had he not been away at that point of time... this would have never occurred. His Mishty would have been safe... there was no way he could have let any living creature on this earth harm her... But he wasn't here... he was so far away from her... fulfilling his dream when his Geet was being eroded layer by layer. If only he knew the fulfillment of his dream would cost him his entire life... would cost him his Geet... he would have never left her alone. It was his fault. And for the moment his memories drifted to the morning after he had proposed her. The last time Geet was with him...

She gaped at him and putting on a brave front asked, "Aap mujhe challenge kar rahe ho?" He put his hands in his trouser pockets and replied casually, "Aisa hi kuch samajh lo Geet" she squinted her eyes at him. "Maan don't under estimate me" she warned him. "Warna?" he asked taking a step towards her. Geet stepped back. "Maan' aap'... she whimpered and raised her index finger towards him accusingly. "Kya?" he asked as he held her index finger. "Theek hai phir" she said determined and slammed her lips over his. Surprised, Maan staggered backwards and just then Geet bit his lower lip. Maan groaned and slid his arm protectively around her waist as he pulled her towards him. He smiled against her lips before she pulled away and hid herself in his chest. He chuckled at her antics. He was just trying to tease her but it seemed that his Mishti never ceased to surprise him. "I never knew losing a challenge to you would be so fruitful" he said. She hit his chest slightly and then kissed him over his heart.
"I don't want to go" he whispered sincerely while still embracing her. She stepped away from him, "Par jaana toh padega na" she replied sweetly. He nodded and taking her hands in his, he kissed them. Holding back her tears, she said, "I'll miss you Maan... Please come back soon" He nodded his head as she stepped in his arms for one last time.

Back to Present
Standing on the shore... as the faint hue of the last traces of light left behind by the setting sun submerged itself into the darkness... as the waves crashed the shore splashing the saline water all over him... Maan couldn't help but loathe himself for letting her and their love down. How could he not see her pain when he met her in Hoshairpur? Why did he leave her alone? And then when she met him here... she urged him to believe her... she kept pleading him to listen to her once and what did he do? He misjudged her... he disregarded her and her presence... he scoffed at her... he left no single opportunity to put her down... he was hell bent on inflicting pain on her when he should have been the one to apply balm to her wounds... he didn't trust her... he failed her! Slowly as one by one the puzzle started fitting in... the gravity of his own actions and words came back to haunt him... and in that very instant he hated himself...
He remembered Pinky telling him about how Geet was being forced to marry and than the fact that she had ran away.
And that was the last straw... true that his had actions hurt him... he was agonized... he was miserable but then he was burning... burning in his guilt and the guilt was being fueled by enormous frenzy... his fingers balled into tight fists and his nails pierced the flesh in his palm... his eyes red as his body trembled. There were people who had brought her pain and tears... There was someone who had dared to lay his dirty hands on Geet... there was someone who had dared to hurt her... torture her... and those filthy creatures were still crawling on the surface of the earth! Without a doubt they were doomed! He won't let them go scot-free... irrespective of what Geet wanted now... whether she wished him to avenge those scoundrels or not... he was going to do just that!
On the other hand, the hollow look in Maan's eyes haunted her as she wondered what he might have heard or would be thinking at this point of time. She had a fair idea what he would have interpreted of her anguished cries and the knowledge was making her anxious. What was he thinking? What would he think of her now? Why did he leave like that? Did he still think that she betrayed him? The thoughts were plaguing her... were feeding on her ability to think rationally.

Anu couldn't put her mind off Naintara's conversation on phone. Whom was Naintara speaking to about Geet? Who was in Mumbai? And what was it that Naintara was hiding from everyone? She tried to shrug off the conversation she had heard... she thought about various permutations but none could lead to the conclusion about why would Geet become the matter of Naintara's concern. And just then a thought clicked and she gasped, Did Naintara Bhabhi knew what was going on with Geet? Did she know what had happened? Anu shook her head and chided herself inwardly for even letting herself think so, for Naintara was afterall her Bhabhi... but then tried as much she could not shut up the nagging feeling that kept ringing the warning bells inside her head.

Maan was waiting for her to come to the hotel. He wanted to see her... talk to her... and he paced around in the lobby as his gaze kept drifting towards the entrance and he waited for her to come. The moment he saw her, he rushed towards her but stopped in stride as his eyes met hers and she shook her head slightly and then shifted her gaze to the ground. Adi and Pinky greeted him while Pinky kept carefully reading his expressions and then Geet's. Geet's eyes were fixated on the ground. How he wished to crush her in his arms whereas she refused spare him a single look. He gulped the lump in his throat and looked on as they scattered to their work stations. A moment later he followed her. "We need to talk Geet" he said earnestly as he entered her cabin behind her. She immediately whipped around to face him and winced as he saw pain etched over his handsome face. Inhaling sharply she shook her head at him, "There's nothing to talk" she said in a strained voice. "Don't say that" he urged. She closed her eyes and turned around, "Please don't make it more difficult than it already is" she pleaded. "Geet, please..." he tried to plead but she turned instantly and lifted her hand stopping him from saying anything more. "Yaad hai Maan... maine aapse kaha tha... no great love stories ever had a happy ending... we can fight circumstances but we can't fight destiny. (gulping) I want you to be happy Maan..." she choked. He turned her towards himself holding her upper arm, "And you are all I have ever wished for Geet... Ek baar... sirf ek baar bharosa karo mujh par" he urged her sincerely. She looked at his hand and then she raised her gaze to look into his eyes as she muttered, "I wish I could" As soon as the words left her mouth, Maan's hold slipped from her arm as he helplessly looked at her. Shutting her eyes for a moment, she went over to her desk, picked up the file and left the cabin as he kept looking at her retreating back.
Arjun and his family had arrived and Arjun's mom was helping Nandita adorning the place of worship with flowers. Everyone present were happy about the alliance and were waiting for the panditji to come in and start the offerings. And just then Yash entered. It was a pleasant surprise for Anu however; Yash felt embarrassed for barging in without any prior information and tried to excuse himself. But Savitri Devi was having none of it. She insisted that he should stay. "Aise puja chod ke nahi jaate bete... and don't forget this is for your friend's happiness... Won't you like to pray for her?" she asked genuinely and Yash had no option but to stay behind. Anu smiled at him triumphantly while Yash shook his head at her childishness.
