Maan sat on the dining table with the rest of the Khurana household, giving them murderous looks whenever he happened to catch anybody gazing at him.
He was raging like a volcano on the inside, but was controlling his fury cuz he didn't want to react hastily. He first had to figure out what exactly was happening around him.
Dev's hands were clammy , and he was jittering with nervousness.
Geet had emotionally blackmailed him into agreeing to help her with her plan and come back to India.
Though he had absolutely denied playing any kind of role in the play that would most definitely conclude with his death, the urge to see his family and his brother after the accident pushed him into the inferno he was now sitting in.
And all his apprehensions had come true when Maan had roughly shoved him away from Geet on his arrival.
And the plan had only just started!
He gulped down another glass of water.
"I'm not doing it!", he had told Geet when she had done her bit of turning down Maan's proposal and held a meeting in Vicky's room to discuss their course of action.
"Don't be a chicken Dev!!
Even I'm doing it!!", Vicky snapped at his brother.
"You don't understand! I have a hystery with Geet. Bhai will kill me!"
"Maan won't do anything. We had both forgiven you! That story is behind us Dev! You've repented enough for what you did!"
"And you're only the husband!
Come on man! Think about me, my situation is far worse than yours!
I'm the father for crying out loud!!", Dev looked up at Vicky. He did have a point.
"Plus Maan already knows that Geet is his wife, so you're really in no danger", Arjun said encouragingly.
"Alright, if you say so.
But you've got my back right!"
"We've always got your back brother"
So now he sat under Maan's murderous gaze, trying to mellow down his erratic heartbeat, and execute what they had planned for the dinner.
Geet walked in from the kitchen, and stood besides Dev near the dining table.
Arjun, Dev and Vicky exchanged nervous glances.
It was time for action.
Geet circled Dev's neck from behind him, and spoke with sweetness dripping from her voice
"I hope you're enjoying the dinner honey, I made your favourite"
"Well of course I am. How can I not when you've cooked it with your own delicate hands."
and saying this, he kissed both her hands.
Maan grabbed hold of his butter knife, and was about to get up and murder Dev when Arjun stood up, roaring.
"How dare you!!
How dare you touch her!!", and saying this he pulled Geet away from Dev, and kissed her hands.
Maan balled his fists harder.
"Only I have the right to kiss these hands. Because they are only mine!!", and then he pulled Dev up by his collar and shoved him away.
Geet looked on with pretend shock and worry on her face.
The drama had begun.
Dev punched Arjun across the face.
"You back stabbing bas***d!!! How dare you touch my wife!!"
Arjun kicked him in the stomach.
"She was never yours to begin with!!!
She has always been mine!!
And don't you dare lay a finger on her ever again!!"
And they went on.
Kicking, punching and pushing each other, as Maan watched in horror and confusion.
Vicky was having a hard time controlling his laughter as he watched both of them go at it, and Maan getting totally worried over the commotion.
Bless the lord Dadi maa was away.

When Dev finally pushed Arjun, making him fall over a lamp, breaking it in the process, he picked up the fruit knife and advanced towards him.
"Now I'll teach you the lesson of trying to steal my wife, you rotten scoundrel..."
This was Geet's cue to begin with her drama. But she had been enjoying the entire sequence, that she had herself crafted so much, that she forgot to pick up the cue.
Dev was advancing towards Arjun, the fight wasn't real, but the knife in his hands was.
And Geet should have begun with her halla by now.
He couldn't really stab Arjun, so he screamed again,
"You snake!!
I will kill you!!"
Still nothing from Geet's end.
He stole a glance around, and found her and Vicky completely enjoying themselves, while Maan looked on in horror.
Sure Vicky had his back!! He should've known better than to trust his useless brother with alerting Geet about her role in case she forgot! And as for Geet, she was too busy having fun to pay any kind of attention to her role.
But he couldn't just stop and give away their situation, so he again screamed
"You swine!!!
I'll make sure that you do not see another sunrise!!", and then he attacked Arjun, careful enough to miss the target by almost two feet.
Arjun ducked in horror.
Though the knife was well away from him, what the hell was Dev thinking!!
And why the hell was Geet stalling her appearance.
This attack on Arjun brought Vicky back to his senses, and he nudged Geet to step in.
Geet realised that it was her turn, and hurrying forward, screamed dramatically
"NAHIII..."
Maan then shifted his focus to Geet, as if there wasn't enough lunacy already, here she was screaming like Asha Parekh from Kati Patang.
"Ruk jaooo...!!!!
Mat chuo mere pyar kooo...!!!!"
and saying this she hid Arjun behind her back, facing Dev with a pleading look on her face.
"Main aapke haath jodti hoon!!
Paaon padti hun!!!
Chod dijiye Arjun ko, main inse beintiha pyar karti hoon!!!!"
Dev very dramatically dropped the knife onto the floor with a huge clutter, and donned a look of shock and pain.
"Nahiiinn...
Yeh sunne se pehle main mar kyun nahi gaya...!!!", Dev whined, as he dramatically covered his ears.
Maan jolted towards Dev, Geet apparently wasn't the only Asha Parekh in the house that day.
They had two.
"Aisa mat boliye!!
Bhagwaan ke liye aise ashubh shabdon ka prayog mat kijiye!!!
Aap mere suhaag hain! Main aapki ardhangini hoon
Aur main poori shraddha se apna kartavya nibhaaoongi!! Magar rehem kijiye..!!
Arjun ko mat mariye...chod dijiye unhe..!!
Agar inhe kuch ho gaya, to main jee nahi paaoongi!!", and saying this she in perfect old hindi film style dropped to Dev's feet, begging him to spare her lover.
Maan simply gaped at the display of madness forth him.
And he could just not understand how he should react.
"Theek hai!!
Jaisa tum chaho.. magar yeh is ghar mein nahi reh sakta!!"
"Main yahan se kahin nahi jaa raha hoon!!!
Agar tumhe lagta hai, ki tumhe Geet itni asani se mil jaaegi, to yeh tumhari galat faimi hai.
Woh sirf meri hai!!"
and elucidating his last dialogue, he kissed Geet's hands again, and left for his room, shrugging as he left their sights.
