Sonam Kapoor's romance with the rains

There is no doubt that Sonam Kapoor is a fashionista. Her fashion sense keeps her in the limelight more than her films do. With Sonam, it is all about high fashion and trends. Apart from fashion, make-up, reading, and shopping, Sonam also loves the monsoons. We talk to Sonam Kapoor about her favourite monsoon moments.

School days
Since childhood, I have loved the rains. I still remember how my mother used to shout at us because we would jump in the water puddles. I love to play in water. Before the monsoons arrived, we would get ready by buying cute raincoats and rainy shoes. I still have a few raincoats from childhood; they are so pretty that I don't want to throw them away.

Music
Music plays an important part in my life, especially on a rainy day when I am alone. I am a music lover, and thoroughly enjoy it. I listen to everything : from pop, jazz and Hollywood to hip-hop and Bollywood. My favorite songs for when I am alone at home on a rainy day are songs by Madonna and Pyaar hua ikraar hua, with Raj Kapoor and Nargis in the rain, as are so many other songs. It feels so great to sit at home, look out of your window, and enjoy the rainy view with a cup of hot coffee and some music.

Style mantra
During the rains, one should not wear very long clothes, but should try to keep it short and simple. Wear light fabrics. Do not stay in soaked clothes all day long. Keep your make-up light, and use waterproof products. Carry a nice umbrella that matches with your outfit. These days, I like wearing shorts.

Long drives
Oh, long drives are the best thing to do on a rainy night, but not in Mumbai. We have been going to Khandala in the monsoons since childhood. I still go out on long drives on rainy days with my friends and sisters. Even when my cousins are here, we go for long drives. Monsoon is the best romantic season for me.
