Mamta star denied holiday

Anand Suryavanshi's vacation was cancelled to accommodate last-minute shooting plans

Summer is vacation time for most television actors, and while many are able to unwind and rejuvenate for their return to the grind of the studios, there are some, like Anand Suryavanshi, who forfeit such luxury. The actor was almost on the verge of leaving for his vacation when a call from the production house spoilt it all.

Suryavanshi, who currently plays the lead in Zee TV's Mamta, had planned a mini vacation with his family to Mahabaleshwar. The actor's hectic schedule had kept him from a holiday for almost four years; so understandably, he was eagerly looking forward to this break.

However, a night before his departure, he received a call from the production unit (Shobhana Desai's production) claiming that they could not spare him from the shoot. And so, Suryanvanshi was forced to cancel his vacation and stay back to meet the requirements of the schedule.

Suryanvanshi says, "Yes, that's true. I had planned a vacation after a long time and it got cancelled at the nth minute. This is what happened… a few days ago, Neha (Mehta, the other lead) fell ill. So there was some disruption in the schedule. Plus, the channel wanted some new promos to be shot and the routine re-shooting of certain scenes also was to be done. So generally, the shooting schedule had gone haywire. Understandably, I had to stay back, and forfeit my vacation."

He adds, "I was supposed to leave last weekend and I continued to shoot until the last day. However, when I returned home that night, I got a call from the production unit. They explained the situation to me, and asked me to stay back. I couldn't refuse. I did not want either the serial or the producer to suffer. All the other actors' dates were available, and I realised that the unit had to make the most of it. I was disappointed with the cancellation of my holiday, but the serial is more important."
