Great move zee tv, this guy knows his stuff.

CB episodes were superb when he was there, drama and romance was there that captured your heart...

I think this will be great for CB2, he will also pay attention to CB and Avina as he is familiar with them...

I feel very good about this...hope with his entry avina are given the recognition and respect they truly deserves...

Thanks Mist for enlightening us with this juicy😉😃 piece of info...

Thanks Misti for this very important news.

Since this person quit in October 2009, ZEE TV has been without a programming head. It also has been doing without a business head after the exit of Nitin Vaidya. No wonder the channel has been performing so poorly. It seems like the organization had no direction. They were going for instant gratification aka TRPs when their main pillars had gone and the walls were crumbling!

I found this press snippet from Dec 2008. He was at the launch of CB1 and said the following about CB1...

Ajay Bhalwankar, Programming Head, Zee TV, said: "We had great difficulty in casting this show because the protagonist is not as much of a go-getter initially. But if you look at the female leads in all our shows, you will see certain common threads. We strongly believe in the power of the woman in families and in society and came up with the idea of this show to throw light on the fact that the promise of confident, outward-looking India has perhaps touched women in a far greater degree than men."

Bhalwankar added: "We were also interested in exploring the role of spiritual relationships with the divine in a woman's life today. We can tell you that casting for this show was one of our greatest challenges but we were lucky to find actresses who embody the characters and make their contradictions and subtleties come out wonderfully."

Hopefully he feels an affinity towards CB2 (since he seems to be instrumental in bringing CB1 to air) and takes this show under his wings and gives it the support that it badly needs.

Thanks dg...What you have written in the hightighted part regarding choosing Rubina is what I am hoping might again work in their favour. Rubina was completely new and she had to play the most complex role in CB1...that is of Radhika. This character had loads of layers in her and Rubina did a very good job of projecting Rdahika to the audience. Unfortunately it was again the creatives who came on board in September 2009 who completely messed her up...they had no clue as to what they are dealing with. The original cvs did a pretty good job.
Vaidya the business head left just after CB1 ended...I think after Bhawalkar left Vaidya might have kept stuff floating because as the business head he should have known what is going to work and what not...but the balance was not there. I mean the balance between making good shows and also earning money. So thats why things started sliding from October 2009...and after Vaidya left it became a mess with no leaders present to guide them. Lets see what they do.
