Once Jassi got her makeover, the serial based on a Spanish telenovella didn't hold much interest for the viewers. And yet, the serial will be counted amongst the pathbreakers in the history of Indian television. The story about how a simple, middle-class ugly girl transforms into a beautiful woman, came as a refreshing change when the small-screen was ruled by saas-bahu soaps... May 4 will be the last time Jassi will appear on the television.
