As I watched today's episode I have a strong feeling the episode was all about closure for Gulaal about her life with Vasant. Let me explain :

Gulaal has lived the last 10 years in the shadow of Vasant and because of the circumstances of his death she never really got to grieve for him and never got the closure she needed. The last 10 years have been all about fulfilling his dreams, looking after his family, his household, his brother, his parents, the business and ensuring the family stays together. She has suppressed her feelings, her vibrant personality and tried to do the right thing for everyone else. In the meantime she has forgotten who she is and what she wants. It has always been about Vasant's dreams. Not about herself.

In fact she has almost become Vasant for the family. Taking over where he left off.

What Kesar is offering her is dreams, love, passion, youth, fun and over all everything she has given up in her life. For her to even think about all this is a PAAP. In order for her to accept what he is offering she would have to let go of Vasant and step out of the shadow of herself she has allowed herself to become and live again. She would be accepting Kesar for herself. She will no longer be able to pretend that it is all for the family, Kesar will accept no less.

So it made sense for me that today she reminisced about her life with Vasant and almost said goodbye to him and maybe this is the closure of her life with or without Vasant. Now she has left the house and will need to think for herself and perhaps at some point she will be ready to accept everything that Kesar is willingly offering her!

Her accepting Kesar is going to be a journey and I for one am in for the long and wild ride!! What fun it is going to be to watch them come together! But I think it is going to be a long ride. Gulaal is not nearly ready to accept Kesar.

Lovely post!👏

You make a very insightful point...indeed this was closure for Gulaal in a sense...I didn't think of it so much but your post has made me view the epi from a different light...all those scenes of Gulaal reminiscing about her journey in this house...how she first came there...Vasant's promise and how that basically became her life...she became Vasant for the family, like you said.

What Kesar offers her asks for her to reach deep inside and remember the original vibrant Gulaal that has been lost somewhere under the burden of the responsibilities and promises she has had to fulfill...like you said, in order to accept what Kesar is offering, she would have to let go of Vasant, his memories...and THAT is unthinkable to her...because if we think about it...Gulaal never elaborated on WHY she perceived it as paap...and the scene moved quickly ahead and Kesar never pressed her on that point either...there were bigger issues on his mind like stopping her from leaving.

I also think Gulaal's journey towards accepting Kesar will be a long drawn one...there is a lot she is yet to discover about Kesar's feelings for her and the depth of those feelings. There is a lot she still has to discover about herself along the way as well. It will be an evolution of thought process...right now she is too wound up and guilt ridden to open her mind...but time and circumstances will evolve everything...Kesar is the only one who can bring her out of this shell that she has drawn around herself as a defense mechanism to live her life all these years...only he can bring out that will within to truly LIVE and love again ...I'm also quite intrigued to see how this plays out :-)

Brilliant Post
I agree with you, when she stepped out of the house it was bid goodbye to Vasant's wife Gulaal. Hopefully when she comes back to the house she comes back as just Gulaal, ready to find and accept her happiness.
I think because if her unconditional love for Vasant and Vasant loved his family. So she made his love hers, thus after his death she took Vasant's place in the family.

But yeah it will be fun to see the rollarcoster ride that GulSar will go through after this closure. But I really hope Kesar dosent become a devdas like mentioned another thread

It was all the old scenes made me think that it was goodbye to old before she can accept the new.

She is really afraid to reach deep inside herself to find the old or discover a new Gulaal. It is so much easier to stay inside of herself and not change. She is not ready to think of Kesar as anything other than Vasant's brother.

I also think Gulaal's journey towards accepting Kesar will be a long drawn one...there is a lot she is yet to discover about Kesar's feelings for her and the depth of those feelings. There is a lot she still has to discover about herself along the way as well. Really looking for the long and wonderful journey of GulSar discovering each other!!!

I just finished watching the episode and am glad i came in here to check out the posts! LOVED what you wrote! It made me looked at the episode in a different perspective. Before reading your post, i felt the flashback scenes were just in there to fill the episode but now i realised that those scenes were required for Today's episode!
Based on what we've been seeing the past few weeks, i came to a conclusion that Gulaal will never ever see Kesar the way Kesar sees her. Plus with news of the show ending soon, i assumed that they'll probably just end the show with Gulaal leaving the family and not a Gulaal/Kesar ending BUT after reading your post, i actually have a tinge of hope now. 😆
It makes total sense! In order for Gulaal to accept Kesar, she has to first let go of her past and so this closure of hers was necessary. It was her love for Vasant that made her step into his shoes ... I don't think the family ever wanted her to do that. She willingly took over the role and they just kept quiet. I kinda agree with Poonam here that Mota Bha and family did take slight advantage of her. Not that they made use of her, they just didn't see that she also has a life of her own to live.
Anyways the show's getting interesting day by day! Am really looking forward to the future track!
Oh and that last scene of Kesar stopping Gulaal was so so sad yet cute at the same time. 😆

Lovely Post and thanks for the different perspective. Now that you have mentioned, it makes perfect sense. The little bead she left behind was the tiny seed of hope for a kes-gul reunion - I think that was symbolic as well. But befor anything can happen, Talli has to leave that house.

This topic makes a lot of sense. When she walked out of the house, it felt like she was moving out of that caged world she has put herself in to. With any other show, I wouldn't bother analysing it all but this show is different. The scenes are meant to be layered and you're so right about her guilt of LIVING again makes her want to escape. It's a 'paap' for her to think about anyone else apart from Vasant.

Great post!
