Here they shot this guy out of anger n frustration, after seeing their friends dead.

Two wrongs do not make a right.

Frankly it is not just Pakistani Rangers, a lot of army personnel in mist countries behave the same way I think.
Even UN soldiers were found guilty of many crimes.

Like in the book "Lord of the Flies" there is a demon hidden in all of us that can make a sudden appearance.

Ain't serving in the army for a certain period mandatory in Singapore? So, are you speaking from personal experience?

Ha ha. I managed to escape, but it is mandatory. But I see even my nephews think differently when they wear the uniform.
Most army personnel are quite "brain dead" in that they work like zombies anr robots, strictly following commands. But there are a few rare good and steady ones too.
I always read about army atrocities , the rape of Nanking etc is too much.

Thinking differently than you is not wrong, what they think is what is important. And following orders is a basic requirement in army, that is what keeps them and in turn the whole nation alive and free. Without discipline an army is as good as non-existent. No one would like to have an army where every person does as they deem right.

Anyways, you seem to have a strong dislike for army just because armies sometimes commit some crime. But who doesn't? Scores of people who are civilians commit crime everyday. So, do we condemn the whole mankind?

The people who join the army are normal people from the same society that we live in. Therefore, the army behaves in the way the country expects them to. If the country wants their national army to be a killing machine whose sole job is to destroy and conquer other countries, that is what they will get. But if the country wants a responsible army, who doesn't go on to kill indiscriminately but at the same time will not hesitate to kill if the country is under attack, then the nation will make the effort to choose responsible people before giving them a gun.

Army etc is not new to most of us I think and we all have some friends and families in the Army.
Yes we do need the army for protection of the country. The level of discipline demanded is indeed very high and crazy go crazy after a few years. Many have done wonderful service for their country too.
Some of these army people when they go into other countries tend to take a lot of liberties. That is what most of us do not like.
Personally I do not like the discipline in the Army and I doubt I will be able to maintain my sanity either.😆

Pakistani Police Say Teacher Beat, Killed Blind Boy for Not Learning Koran
A young blind boy has died after a teacher at his Islamic school in Pakistan hung him upside down and beat him for not learning the Koran, Agence France-Presse reported Friday.
Teacher Qari Ziauddin allegedly hung Muhammad Atif, 7, from a ceiling fan at Qari Latif Islamic school near Lahore, Pakistan, on Thursday.
Pakistani Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani has ordered an investigation into the boy's death, AFP reported.
"The Prime Minister has expressed his deep sorrow and concern over the tragic death of Muhammad Atif, who reportedly died as a result of corporal punishment by his teacher,'' an official government statement said.
Pakistani police said Ziauddin has been arrested and charged in Atif's murder. The police also report Ziauddin did not take the boy to the hospital after his condition deteriorated following the beating.
Local police official Akram Niazi told AFP an autopsy report confirmed that physical torture caused Atif's death.
"Qari Ziauddin hanged Atif upside down with a ceiling fan in the school after beating him with sticks, which caused his death,'' Niazi told AFP.

Yes. I have seen this news long time ago. There're many such cases in Pakistan and due to bribe and corruptions most of the culprits're released without any charges (mostly in 3rd world countries). What a shame?😡

JB supper trip turns into nightmare for 2 women

They say they were remanded and forced to undress and do squats

By Tham Yuen-C

-- An Illustration

'They asked us to strip, take off all our clothes and underwear, and then asked us to stand up and down while pulling our ears.'

Ms Lim, one of the two women

TWO Singaporean women who drove to Johor Baru for supper found themselves questioned by Malaysian immigration officers, handcuffed, thrown behind bars and made to do squats while naked.

They said their nightmare started when they drove into Johor Baru without getting their passports stamped, through an unmanned immigration lane. It ended 48 hours later when they were allowed to return to Singapore with a warning.

'We thought it was a small issue, we didn't think something like that would happen,' said one of the women, a manager in an insurance company who wanted to be known only as Ms Chang.

A spokesman for the Custom and Immigration Quarantine Complex in Bangunan Sultan Iskandar confirmed that two Singaporean women had been detained for an immigration offence.

Ms Chang, in her late 30s, had been driven to Johor Baru by her friend, a property agent in her late 20s who wanted to be known only as Ms Lim, at about 1.30am last Thursday.

Ms Lim was driving her new Nissan Latio. It was the first time she had driven to Malaysia, although she had been driven there before by friends.

Pakistan: Karachi soldiers appear in court over killing

Pakistan Rangers detain Sarfaraz Shah in a Karachi park on 9 JuneSarfaraz Shah (left) was detained at gunpoint and then shot

Seven men, six of them soldiers, have appeared in a Pakistani anti-terrorism court in connection with the killing of an unarmed man in the city of Karachi.

The killing of Sarfaraz Shah was filmed by a TV cameraman and widely broadcast by Pakistani channels.

The soldiers belong to a paramilitary unit and are in jail awaiting formal charges. Pakistani prosecutors say they will pursue murder charges.

A security guard from the park where Mr Shah was killed is also in custody.

Police say they have completed their investigation into the incident and the case now rests with the prosecutors.

"We have been handed over the charges against the men by the police," public prosecutor Arshad Iqbal Cheema told the BBC.

"We are examining them and will present them in court once we have been satisfied."

'Begging for help'

The strongest piece of evidence is the video footage recorded by a cameraman for Awaz (The Voice) TV, a local Pakistani channel.

Police officials escorted the men into the court amid tight security. The accused had their faces covered to conceal their features.

Police officials say that they have asked for the men to be tried under Pakistan's anti-terror law, which also deals with especially horrendous crimes. They face a possible death penalty.

But public prosecutors say they still need to examine the evidence before asking for such a punishment.

Pakistan's government is under tremendous public pressure to punish the men. It is all part of a rising wave of anger against the country's security forces.

Many people are now calling for accountability in the face of instances of inefficiency and abuse of power.

The footage, which surfaced last week, showed Sarfaraz Shah, wearing a black T-shirt, being dragged by his hair in a public park by a man in plain clothes and pushed towards a group of Sindh Rangers who are in uniform and armed.

He pleads for his life as one of the Rangers points a gun at his neck and a little later a Ranger shoots him twice at close range, hitting him in the thigh. The young man is seen writhing on the ground, bleeding heavily and begging for help.

The paramilitaries did nothing to help him. He died from his injuries.

The Rangers say he was caught trying to rob someone. His family denies this.

Police said they recovered a fake pistol, which Mr Shah was carrying, as well as the two bullets which killed him. They have also interviewed 17 witnesses.

The video prompted further widespread criticism of the Pakistani security establishment, which is already under fire for the recent killing of a journalist, Saleem Shahzad.

Journalists, politicians and rights activists have accused the army's intelligence service, the ISI, of the murder, a charge which the ISI denies.

I always wish the best for all countries as a problem in one country is a problem for the whole world ultimately. But humans are often blinded by their own greed.
