there can be two possible scenarios,

all SS's plan.. K gives P a divorce... P's plan to expose Thakurain fails... SS comes with Ganga as his bride which forces K into marrying her to save his mother...

or

divorce drama forces P to act to save her marriage which she successfully does.. and it is after Thakurain is exposed that SS enters with Ganga, hence no one's sympathy for Thakurain then...

same here... never had imagined K will be reduced to what he is today... who despite feeling betrayed after Angad fiasco stood by her side is now giving her a divorce, in a way ending it all officially with her, for a crime he himself witnessed she never committed... Unbelievable!!
