Hi all, I'm Rana & started watching the show from 2 weeks back.
I have been reading about the original show for a long time. Recently Cheryl Cole was thrown out/opted out of American version due to her accent & some other things. Therefore that means that Simon Cole sets a very high standard for the show.
But the Indian version has made me think as to how different is it from Idol, Saregama, etc. the many singing shows. I don't find anything much different aside from the fact that some dancing is there. Can someone pls explain to me?
Also of the recent finalists, few were above average, but mostly average or below. I'd like to know what happened to the brilliant veg vendor & the auto driver. They were extraordinary, so much so that they got standing ovation from Sonu. Was that all for show?
All these are my personal opinions.

I don't watch it, just saw few minutes footage. I think the two were not selected. You are talking about that Aas Paas Khuda man na, he wasn't selected.

I expect better performances as the singers warm up and practise harder.

@ the coloured part.

Any show adapted in India will be Indianised. There is no choice. We are totally different in many ways compared to the western nations. So, simon cowell knew what he was letting his show in for when it was franchiseed? to India.

There are a few differences, other than dancing, from the usual singing show being aired over the years here.😊

It is indianized as Musicmuse has mentioned, but I wish they had picked the auto driver instead of Kartal uncle, or given geetesh a chance

Well that is life. There must be some good reasons like not being available at that time.
