"PLANS"

"Where are you taking me?" Geet asked suddenly remembering that he said they were to catch a flight. What kind of a man is he? He marries her, does not even know anything about her and has already planned their freaking honeymoon? Geet couldn't believe her stepfather would actually choose the biggest pervert alive out there as her husband. What did she ever do to deserve this much hatred?

Maan looked at his bride. This took her so long? To ask him where he was taking her? She took five minutes to ask him this simple question? What did he ever do to Charles that he was now tied down to this neurotic woman! He looked outside the window, took a deep breath to calm his nerves down and muttered, "India!"

"Indiana? What? You are taking me to Indiana for our honeymoon? WOW, I am married to some psycho!" She said sulking and rolling her eyes. What kind of a man took their wives to the State of Indiana for their honeymoon? God, this can't be happening to me, she thought. But this does not need to happen because she did have her plan. And she was sure, he would agree to whatever she would be saying. Clearly from his big honeymoon plans, he did not seem very excited about it too. Or else why would anyone who was excited about their honeymoon plan to go to Indiana out of all places? What happened to the mountains in Switzerland or the romantic air of Paris and the most exquisite Venice? To that thought Geet sunk herself deeper into the seat.

Honeymoon? Did she just mention HONEYMOON? When did Maan Singh Khurana ever utter the word Honeymoon? A FREAK. That's what she was. And now he had to spend atleast 6 months with her according to the contract he signed with her stepfather. This could not get any worse…and when did he ever mention Indiana?

Great.

This is just great.

So she had hearing problems too. Maan Singh Khurana might be a lot of things but he wasn't a stupid. Or maybe he was. The biggest stupid in the world for agreeing to marry this mad person and signing those contract papers. And now there was no way out of this. He fumed at himself for being an idiot.

He turned to her and said, "Who said anything about a Honeymoon? Listen up lady, don't get any hopes up in your mind okay? And why on Earth would I take you to Indiana? I said INDIA!"

Shock.

Geet was in SHOCK.

India.

Her father's home. Her home.

Though she had never been to India, but she always wanted to visit the country. She knew her roots lie in India. No matter what, she would always be an Indian and her father had always taught her that. She loved the country too.

Her father had always told her stories about the country. Mahenderlal Handa had always told Geet that when Geet would be 12 years old, he would take her to India. But fate had some other plans as her father had died in that fatal accident when she was 10. He could not keep his word to her because God had decided something else entirely in her destiny. And that is when she thought, she could not tell him about her plan now. She had to go to India. See the place her father grew up in. This was the only way she could connect to her father again. He was a simple and humble man. Going to India was Geet's dream. This was the only way she would feel, her father was around her. He always told her, when he died one day, his soul would go back to Hoshiarpur, a place in India where her father was born.

She remembered how her father would show her stuffs about India on the net or show her Indian movies. She would sit with her father asking him questions one after the other. Thanks to those hours spent on watching those movies she could understand some of the Hindi words, but could not speak it. She always tried though but failed. Her father would give her hope that one day she will do it and that he would teach her to fluently speak the language. But fate had other things stored for her and he was not even there anymore. After her father's death she never wanted to learn Hindi because it would remind her of her deceased father so much that it made her cry and then she would go and get drunk just to try and forget about it. She had a very disturbing childhood, and to even think about it pained her.

Geet decided she would play along with this man until she finds out about her father's birthplace and the rest of her family, her own blood. She would learn more about India and once she would no longer need this man, she would escape from him. That was her new plan.

Maan noticed Geet had suddenly gone into deep thoughts. He wondered what she was thinking. Probably trying to find ways of escaping from his clutches. But he would make sure she stayed with him. Maan was a man of his words. He committed he would stay married with her for six months and he would oblige. It's not like anyone would have to know he is even married. Back home no one knew what he was upto in the US. Not even Dadimaa. And it was better this way. Six months was not a very long time. As long as this woman kept her mouth shut, he would be out of any troubles. Once they were in the plane, he would talk to her about his plan. And since she already does not approve of this marriage, it wouldn't be a problem to make her agree to his terms.
