I agree. Something similar was done in SRGMP 05, 07 as well and they lost a few good singers because of the forced quota system. I do think Geetesh's elimination was unfair - I was expecting them to make an exception of sorts here. The "Last Minute" group isn't going to last all that long, they look like a bunch of girls decided that they had a better chance of getting in as a group than as individuals. A "group" (i.e. a band) is not a bunch of people standing together and singing, they need to do something different, prove that there is a reason they are a group.

Exactly...There was no harmonization at all. All of them were singing same lines at same time. No variation from indivisual member of the group. I must say they dont even deserve to be top 24. That said I ll be very happy if they prove me wrong and do something which is different.

I don't like how they broke it down because that means that they will make some unfair eliminations in order to match the number of people/ groups on each team. I think they should have just the best 24 people/ groups. No need to break it down and try to "fair" because really it's being unfair. After the best 24 people/ groups are selected, then they should divide them up into teams.

As pointed out by many above, this formal is unjust to some of the better singers! (Case in point : Geetesh)

Also, I would have liked it better if all the mentors had a chance of grooming people from various categories, e.g. it would have been nice to see Sonu groom an under25, an above25 as well as a group. That way we could also see a more clear comparison of the mentors' abilities to groom various categories.

Nope, the organization is all very haphazard and I still don't understand how groups are gonna compete against individual singers? Or is it gonna be like on one day they have groups sing, on the other they have over 25, and another they have under 25? It is just very vague and confusing😕 Are they gonna have 3 X Factor titles, because that makes it all the more messy

System can disadvantage the singles.
Groups have more talents and choices available. So they have best chance to win.
Over 25s are normally more experienced and have greater advantage than the below 25s.
So Sonu ji is most disadvantaged.
(But not to worry American Idol this year was won by Scotty, a young Teenager who sang basically Country n Westerns. The Runners up was also another Teenager.)

The format of the show is quite different. Till now I have liked it. Even though there are 3 teams, in the end its going to be only 1 winner. So it will be fun.

How can you compare groups with singers? And if such was the case, why was the 3 group classifications required in the first place?😕

Yes a Group and an individual is not the same.
But I guess it is also done in some of the overseas reality shows too.

Does not matter in which groups contestants are divided. We have to listen only their voices and get entertained .
