Housefull in London, house empty in Bollywood

It has been a 'flight full' situation for the cast and crew of Housefull 2 as they leave from Mumbai to London for the extended overseas shoot of the film. At last count, there were as many as 160 people travelling to shoot this Sajid Nadiadwala film.

"This is inarguably one of the largest, if not the largest ever, contingent to be travelling to shoot a Bollywood film", says an executive from the film's production team, "Leave aside the crew members, the principal cast itself is made of more than a dozen odd A-listers. Add to them their attendants, make up boy/girl etc. and you have a huge team out there."

All of this means that from logistics standpoint, it is indeed a 'houseful' situation for the makers who have put together extensive plans to ensure that the shoot goes on smoothly. Other than Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, John Abraham, Asin, Jacqueline Fernandez and Zarine Khan there are senior actors like Rishi Kapoor, Randhir Kapoor and Mithun Chakraborty who would require special attention. Not to forget Boman Irani, Johnny Lever and Chunky Pandey along with Shreyas Talpade and Shazahn Padamsee who complete the film's cast.

"I have an efficient production team in place so I am not really concerned. I know these 160 odd people would be well taken care of in London", says Sajid Nadiadwala whose last two films, Anjaana Anjaani and Housefull, were also shot extensively in overseas, "More than thinking like a producer, presently I am excited as an audience to see how the film shapes up. Sajid's (Khan) has promised me that he has doubled the humour quotient this time around."

Sajid Khan, who got a little over six months to put together Housefull, admits that bringing a dozen odd big names under one roof has been unprecedented for him as well.

"I can stand up and say that my film has the best of today as well as yesterday", he declares, "In terms of the scale and sheer star power, Housefull 2 is the biggest film of all times."

Tell him about the challenge of managing 160 off people on the sets and that too on a foreign location and Sajid quips, "I know there is Sajid (Nadiadwala) for that. In fact one of my biggest challenges is to see how to get my prime protagonists together in the film's poster. Barring a poster like Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham and then Raajneeti, I don't remember when was the last time such big names came together
