Ankita loves getting wet

Dhanashri Kulkarni/Hill Road Media

Monsoons are back and other than providing relief from scorching heat, it also brings a smile to our faces. Ankita Lokhande, who plays the lovable Archana in Pavitra Rishta, talks about her love for monsoons, the scenes she shot in real rain, her terrace in Indore and going to hill stations.

When you hear the word monsoon, what do you picture in your mind?
The first thing which comes to my mind is greenery and sudden cool climatic change. Monsoons also mean an opportunity to visit different hill stations like Lonavala, Matheran etc.

What do you like about moonsoons?
I love rains, water and greenery. I have done many scenes in rains for my show which are fun sometimes. Then, of course, getting wet in rains is the most fun part of monsoons.

What do you dislike about the rains?
There is no particular thing which I don't like but one thing I hate is water logging and traffic jams. Then, of course, there is kichad. I don't like wear light clothes like white or cream during rains.

Tell us about your best and worst monsoon experience?
I love everything about monsoons as I still remember those rainy scenes in Pavitra Rishta, which we shot in actual rains. I don't think I have had any worst experience which I can share.

What memories do you have of monsoons as a child?
There are many. I love to get wet in monsoons, especially during the first shower and I used to take my younger brother on the terrace of our house in Indore and we would play various games like hide and seek, pakdam pakdai etc. I still remember those days but I now I really miss my terrace.

Are you an indoor or outdoor person in the monsoons?
It depends on my mood but usually I prefer to be indoors. Nowadays considering people know me I enjoy the beauty of the rains while sipping coffee from the huge window in my house.

In monsoons, what is your dressing style?
I try to wear darker shade of clothes especially green, maroon, dark pink cotton dresses as they are very comfortable and also non-transparent.

Which is your weekend monsoon destination?
For me, right now it's Lavasa, which has its own beauty. I feel during monsoons, it's the best place to visit and I am hoping to visit soon. But other than Lavasa, even the hills of Lonavala and Khandala are great sight to watch.
