SRK's comment on Ramdev's stand on Lokpal - Page 4

I don't care how much money Baba Ramdev earns, nor am I too interested with the stats of how many people he has helped cure or whether or not he has an island in Scotland. His protest and fast could be politically motivated for all I care, but I fully support the cause for which he is protesting. Coming back to why Indian police disgust me so much at times..Delhi police and Kapil Sibal are busy giving statements to the media about how lathicharge was not used against mothers, little children and people in general. Is that why NDTV has footage of them beating the crap out of people at the Ramlila ground? Such people make me sick. Did all those people currently lying in the hospital dream about being attacked by Delhi police? How did they magically become crippled overnight? I really don't get how politicians and members of the police force can go on to make such stupid statements when evidence is against them. Funny thing is, in India they actually get away with it.

I can't help but draw comparison to the National Student Union protests that took place in London. These were MASSIVE protests, lots and lots of angry youth roaming the streets, vandalising expensive designer shops and when the police dared to use violence against one man, it made headlines all over the country. That police officer was then removed from his job and was being investigated for using extreme forms of violence e.g. dragging a man out of his wheelchair. The police used shields and were armed in case something happened but there were barely any reports of people ending up in hospital.

More importantly, why is the Indian government so damn useless and corrupt?

Police taking him away at 1am? Scared to take him away in broad daylight maybe? Screw all these corrupt politicians! India will never develop with these guys in power.

I was watching NDTV and Rahul Bose was on the show talking about some rural village in Maharashtra that no politician has ever come to visit and he said something like '62% of India do not have access to electricity'. What a shocking statistic if it is true.
