Thank God some people are trying to understand Geet's predicament here... I don't know why people are bashing Geet's character... In Y'day's epi as well she made it clear that it is very difficult to change the attitude of Beeji & Tejjy & seriously I believe that such kind of people do exist in the world...Geet had a point & that's why she was angry with Maan... She's more angry because Maan's stay in the house has enhanced Bejji's anger rather than sufficing it... & that's a bad news for her as she won't be able to go to Delhi... & she has to stay with him in the same house without being hubby- wify... without having proper heart to heat conversation... earlier situation was different Maan as Balwant can go secretly to her room...now that option is also no longer available... So what we are seeing is her frustation over things...
One more thing I want to add that people can't bear too much reality... otherwise it would become prechy type...

Today, made the blunder of visiting this forum first, read the posts..and felt that the episode must be really nonsensical for soo many ppl to be sooo negative...but when i later saw it...i laffed a lot...(may be i m not clued in to the psyche of other viewers here.) but honestly...i njoyed it...

My guess is for most of us...any episode where there is no Maaneet romance or passion...is mediocre...it has to be Maaneet and Maaneet all the way...but even romance has to have a reason, like comedy even passion is situational...and honestly mindless romance without a story line ...😕
Lately the show has deviated..agreed...its quite different from where it started off...but like any other show..as the years go by...there will be permutations n combinations...i feel it is a requirement...there have to be different shades to a saga..different angles to a story...more characters...more emotions...but it seems that most of us are hell bent that there should be only two characters most of the days of the week...romancing...we do not want to listen to reason that if a show has to last...it has to develop different tracks...they will never be as popular as the Maaneet...but ...there is no option...
And the way some forum members are bashing Geet...m speechless...and more so coz most of us are women...and still are unable to understand another female character..so Geet is miffed with Maan...and if ur hubby buys ur masi's house and doesn't tell you...just makes a grand entry..to rub it in...u will applaud him...support him???😃
He decides to change the circumstances of a whole family...change their temperaments...creates ripples and tensions...makes your family members sweat and fume...and creates unfortunate friction and hostilites...ofcourse you as his wife will not be irritated or annoyed...u will romance him???😆 and think...wow what a man..what a hero...he is here to redeem and save my family...thank u hubby dearest ..( and he is doing it all single handedly without even listening to what i think or feel or have to say...)...
Just think for once like a woman...and not like a Maan fan...any wife ( if she has a backbone ) will definitely have a lot to say...in this case...Geet is not denying that she loves him..cares for him..and wants her family members to respect Maan for the man he is...she just does not want any more unpleasant situations arising in her family...and that in my eyes is no crime...
seriously..lately it has become a trend...whatever Geet does is wrong and whatever Maan does is right ..( not taking sides...and never will...for me Maaneet are one..heart and heartbeat...life and soul )...indeed Geet...hui sabse parayi...!!

I understood this from your words. If CVs could have shown us something like Geet's self thought, why she is so much irritated, atleast like me dumb people would understand. CVs are not presenting why she is so much irritated, before and after knowing about truth of Maan's return. Also I feel CVs could portray Geet better way, little more matured in handling family matters & better than Maan. Till now she could not even speak about her husband with her family members. (Forget the blunder, Geet's MU, leaving husband house & her family members is angry with Maan for no reason, till now they have not asked once, why Geet left her husband house. As I know In India, we care more for daughter, we try maximum to patch up btwn husband & wife. Here its completely opposite, they are trying to break). I felt, since there is no proper base for this track, our thinking are going in opposite direction. Many of us in the forum we never said we want Maneet romance all the time. Yes sometime we do require to see mild affection between hubby & wife. But not all the time pulling, eye locks, it looks meaning less to me. Also I think this track is created for Devni. Which is most hated by most of the females. I feel Geet is doing crime by supporting character like Dev. Comedy track is required to make atmosphere light, but over acting would be irritating. I think this track will continue till June 18 maha episode. Till then we get to see all these filler episodes. CVs are least bothered to give us little bit of logic in the story. Instead of these stupid comedy, they could have shown us some serious issues in households, give more screen space to Teji-pammi, even beeji showing their personal problems, why do they have such attitudes. Bcoz every one will not be smart enough to understand their behavior just looking at them. Some dialogs shd be given to them. I am not bashing any character here. But it could have been better by better story line. Its my POV.

Nice post dear.

Agree that romance without story looks idiotic.

Drasti portrayed a child-woman, not a stubborn child that CVs are making her to do now a days. It's CVs or should we say, channel that's doing it. I personally don't like bashing but channel is bringing this on all by itself.

Most of us are thinking women, who may agree or disagree with their husbands but but because we are upset- we dont go around smacking them like a ping pong ball. I agree with you 100% that any wife would have a lot to say in a situation like this- but most wives would not smack their husband when he is trying to explain what is his plan. They would talk to him, hold a mature discussion- weighing the pros and cons- and if they have a better idea, they would offer that instead of constantly pushing him away. She no longer comes across as a normal, sane woman- her character is just a caricature of a loud, OTT, bumbling woman!

I am probably a feminist who wears her heart on her sleeve- but Geet's OTT behavior is getting to me now.

Lets say she was right in that she knew that Maasi would not approve of Lucky and Preeto's match. But she was more than willing to play cupid to Dev and Nandini. Would Maasi have approved the much married Dev and Nandini's match?

Geet's behavior does not appeal to my sensibilities- no matter what the motivation for her character- if I say that I find it OTT or irritating- I dont think that should be construed as Geet bashing or get me categorized/labelled as a Maan fan.

About the comedy vs romance vs drama debate- If I wanted to watch non-stop comedy, I would be watching comedy central or comedy maha muqabla and not GHSP every night at 9:30.

😆...wrong assumption...very much married and for years now...so u can think of me as a so called expert on marriage...or in reality a bruised and battered warrior of this battlefield...😉
Pixie...my point here is subtly different...i was just reminding some forum members who love to criticize every single action or reaction from a character... Geet's predicament...her heartfelt desire that her family members respect and adore her man...and every woman wants that...but her very worldy wise , smart n intelligent hubby seems to take great pleasure in thwarting all her attempts at the same..😆!! can u imagine this woman's mental n emotional state..on one hand she has a family that is going through a massive upheaval all coz of her hubby and his high handedness...and on the other hand she is desperate to be with him...
KK...coming to your point of her manhandling her man..😆this is not the first or the last sequence...she has been doing that in every so called nok jhok scene since they married...or even at the time of the haldi scene...or maybe before that...but lately coz thats all we see...its gettin to be over the board...it really does get on my nerves as i was saying to ninu in this very post...but that is a seperate issue altogether...that is a cv issue i figure ...they just cannot show a lovers tiff in any other way ...this is the best they can come up with...turning the main protagonist into a comic caricature...and anyway as i said earlier...this track has added a lot of flavor..be it drama or comedy...but in the process the essence of all the three main characters is gone...geet, maan n dev...lets not go there...coz thats not ur point...
she hits him...gets on our nerves..but thats another issue...here we were talking about her thoughts and her feelings..and what u do is not bashin...its criticism...and that is miles apart from what i was talking about...when i said bashin..i meant it
and about u watching comedy central or ...( btw i love both of these two...but they dont have maaneet😳)...its a personal choice...but that is pure comedy...this is a sprinkling of comedy, drama and romance..( n manhandling on the side ..all wrapped in one..😉)... honestly the truth is...maaneet have given me soo much in this one year...i do owe them some loyalty..some patience...have to give them the benefit of doubt in the name of creative leeway...some love...just coz things are not going smoothly or according to my wishes...i wont quit...thats not a true fan...just my personal pov...m trying to stay positive...and just sharing my views...

this is not our handa..
why can't you have mature conversation with your hubby...
it's the way she is behaving that i don't agree...i am not sayiing she is wrong ..
but smacking your husband at every given oppurtunity..is not right.. i am sure if i do that with my own husband he wil really get angry...
i undersatnd that she is upset with the way maan is handling the situation but hitting your husband is not the answer

glad u dont bash...not my style either...and about u not connecting..yes the show has changed...and if we look back to from where it started...drastically...and yup this is not our handa too...but it has been a year..a loong one..and a show that lasts for a year perforce has to start adding illogical tracks to survive( indian telly show do coz they are dailies..in such a scenario with channel interference..production pressure and actor absences..creativity suffers intolerably...foreign shows are not dailies and the ones that are...are sailing in the same boat)
Mature behaviour...the character will show it if the cvs write it...right???!!
my point here was to show her mindset and psychology...just to point out that to expect romance is not fair...or failing to comprehend why she is furstrated with her hubby...is not done either...she would be thats normal...now how she deals with that is a different issue...and maan hitting has been going on for a while now...lately its just too repetetive...
and about u or me hitting our hubbys...🤣...dont every go there...thats the reason we watch shows..its fiction!!

no no...there is no quitting from me 😆...i am attached to the show...its my first indian serial😳and yes the track is not that bad...its true...the lucky/pretto story i really enjoyed...and pammi /tejji is so full of potential for me...the track is running at a different pace than we are used to..but it sure does not mean that it does not have anything worth watching...btw i really liked the way you laid it all out in your post😉

some improvement today, Evie **sigh**... a bit heartening actually to see Geet finally resolve to make Maans mission her own.. that is what I so wanted- for Geet to get involved in the problems of her own family, to show concern and love for them and not just be a bystander.

Liked how sensitive shes about Maan's insult. Thank God, for some welcome relief!

and thank GOd Maan realized his bulldozing tactics are backfiring and he needs a different approach.. oh thank the CVs for showing him human! and the not-a-bit-like-Dev-Khurana Dev Khurana is back. I 'll keep shut about it cuz I like Sameer.😳
