okay so i was wondering.. hindi movies were sumthing our parents and grandparents used to enjoy.. everybody would rave about old madhuri, amitabh and sridevi movies.. is it the same nowdays?? is the new lot of actresses mainly the worth?? Bollywood has always been male dominated so actors were all acceptable not to forget that even sum heroes were not accepted quite easily by the film faternity..
lets talk about the actresses here.. we used to have Rekha, Madhuri, Sridevi and even Karishma Kapoor all of these were the top most actresses in their time and do have sum superb movies to their credit..is it the same in today's bollywood??
not talking about the actors becuz we do have the same actors we did in raveena, karishma, madhuri's time.. its always the actress who fades away quickly..
heroines like Katrina and Sonam are making money like anything based only on their looks?? or running around trees capability?? these heroines can clearly not act hence i used the term heroine and not actress.. Katrina's movies have done very good business on the boxoffice but is her acting responsible for that? she has no single movie to her credit which we would consider an award winning performane plus she has been in the industry for 8 long years... Karishma kapoor started her bollywood career in 1991 and gave a splendid performance in raja hindustani and dil to pagal hai.. the movies released in 1996 and 1997 which was within 5,6 years of her entry into bollywood..then came fiza and zubeidaa.. we knew by then that Karishma is indeed a good actress..we cannot even say that about her sister.. Kareena has been in the industry for 10 long years and the only good performance of hers that cumes in my mind is jab we met..
so if we keep all these points in mind is Katrina really worth it?? is bollywood out of talented actresses???
Sonam Kapoor a star kid.. one would expect that she would have some acting capabilities but she is not even aware of the term "acting"
another example would be deepika padukone.. do all these heroines really deserve to be in the top 3 race?? i dont think so..
is bollywood going below the standards in terms of actresses..is it satisfying for u to have a heroine in the movie who can do everything except acting??? would we get actresses of the old caliber back in the top 3 race or would we have to bare these non acting beauties for the next 5-7 years??
a lil modification..as said we are getting wat we are demanding for.. we want girls who look good, dance to munni and sheila, have sum love scenes and the film's done.. i want some change.. soo my question is would u like a change?? or would u want to stick with the same non act acting?? would u want better actresses who can actually act and are not a mere showpiece in the movie or are u completly satisfied..
wats ur take??

I cant watch movies in which people cant act which is why I cant watch movies which have Deepika, Katrina or Sonam in them. The only mainstream actresses like Anushka, PC, Kareena and even Ash (in dramatic roles only) are watchable. Rest are all painful to watch on screen.

Talent was never the deciding factor in determining the fame and fortune of Bollywood stars. If that were the case, Sanjeev Kapoor and Naseeruddin Shah would be bigger stars than Big B or SRK, Shabana Azmi or Smita Patil would have been the box-office queens, selling movies on the power of their star-power. This lamentation for the ersion of talent is also not new. When Rekha and Hema Mailini came to BW, people used to pine away for the grace and style of Waheeda Rehman and Nutan. Amitabh was also ridiculed for not possessing the charm of Dev Anand or the histrionic power of Dilip Kumar.
Stars who are successful in Bollywood are not some freaks of nature who have won their place in the sun by virtue of the planets being aligned in a fortuitous position or something. These peope usually have some inexplicable connect with the audience who prefer to give their patronage to them instead of the thousands of other aspirants who are striving to find their foot-hold in this industry. The film industry is, like any other industry, a demand-and-supply industry. Producers cast only those whose market value seems a profitable proposition. If there is a down-slide of talent on screen, the audiences taste and preference needs to be re-examined. After all they are the ones who decides who becomes a star and who has a long shelf-life.

yeaaahhh thats wat im saying tht they dont deserve such hefty amounts of money paid to them for doing absolutely nothing in the movie.. it was not like this in the 80's, 90's or even early 2000's.. the new lot has ruined the term acting..🤢

so we would have to bare statue faces katrina, sonam, deepika for the next 10 years??? 😆😆
But Relda.. we had talented actresses back in the days and they did act.. why do we not have them now? or the people who enter bollywood completly ignore the fact they have to act? for how long can u bare pretty faces doing nothing on screen.. u would get bored at sum point of time if u see no change..😕

Bt, that is exactly my point. No one is holding a gun to the audience's head to make them go and see someone's movie. People do that on their own volition. As long as people want to see their actresses only as glamorous show-pieces, Katrina-Deepika-Sonam will remain as the leading stars. the same is true for the popularity of Kardashians-Gossip Girl stars-Megahn Fox in the West. The day the audience demands something different from the actresses these stars will vanish into oblivion. But, right now, they are the choice of the majority and hence, they are ruling the BO.

Exactly.. Zeenat Aman was the poster-child of bad acting when she was in Bollywood and look at the way she is remembered now for her contribution to the Hindi films.

Yes todays actresses are not talented like kajol,Juhi,Madhuri or even Rani Preity.Same goes for actors and films. So why blame the actresses only.
Today's films are soely based on actors and the actresses are like showpiece. So it's natural that those who look good will have more success and money.Films like DDLJ,KKHH are not made.Audiences love Singh is King,IHLS and in those films the role of the lead girl is only to dance and wear good clothes. And they are doing that perfectly.Audiences are lving them and the films are hit.
