Nice topic. Out of the 5000 movies that come out in bollywood every year, only 4 or 5 are watchable. Never had high hopes from bollywood and I doubt that I ever will.

The best thing to do is not have expectations from bollywood movies lets face it and lets not denie it bollywood is all about music, dance, the typical masala movies. Thats what bollywood stands for and thats what it delivers the most amazing thing about bollywood is the music no other film industry has as good music as bollywood.
If you want to watch an action movie, underwater movie, science fiction movie, superhero movie and the likes then bollywood movies aren't what you are looking for. Bollywood doesn't have so good technology to make these kind of movies and nor do they have so much money to make an avatar, 2012, inception etc...And most importantly our scripts are crap we have no originality in our movies 95 % of the movies which are made these days are either remakes, sequels or copies from hollywood movies, our stories are very familiar, it's like a miracle if a movie comes out with a fresh script. Also I think the problem is that the audience of Indian Cinema aren't yet so mature to accept bold movies. I mean just look what happens if an actress does a lip lock backless scene etc.. We still are narrow minded and the industry is completely male dominated, only 2-3 female oriented movies gets made and even our female directors do male orenited movies. So for me I just watch bollywood movies to enjoy and love the songs and thats it because it's better not to expect a good story since a movie rarely these days has good scripts.
