First things first, can someone tell me where the TRP thread has disappeared? 😕😆

Now, I was browsing randomly today and came across the TRPs of MKAP... and was surprised to see that they're hovering around 2.5-3!!! 😲😲😲😲 (I'm sure most of you know this already, but I'm a bit slow, you see 😳😆)

So anyway, I was shocked, because the last I remembered, our show was at least around the 4 to 4.5 mark, and I never expected it to fall this low, even when an interesting track is going on. Then, I got curious as to how the other shows are doing or did in the past, and I came across some very very old TRPs.

Now I don't know if I'm allowed to post links to an external website here, but I really wanted to share with you what the old programs managed to score, so I'm just sharing a picture. This is from a time 10 yrs ago, but when I browsed the TRPs for mutliple years, even upto 5 years back, the TRPs were just the same as 10 years ago!

If a show can pretty much rule the roost with TRPs as high as 11.5 for years, then why is our show lagging behind? 11 is pretty much non-achievable these days, but a solid 5 will be wonderful. 😃The table is meant to be an inspiration to all of us, not a means of comparing shows. Look at it and you will realise that if you love MKAP, you also need to do something to improve it's ratings.

Now what can we do, to raise our TRPs? Forget the CVs for once, they'll continue the story as they want, they'll keep on seperating and reuniting Kriya, what is OUR RESPONSIBILTY?

Here is what I suggest:

1. STOP watching the show on Youtube or other websites! The only way to raise TRPs is by tuning in your TV every MON-FRI at the correct time. NOTHING ELSE WILL WORK... NO amount of commenting on any forums, liking the vids, and rewatching the episodes again and again on YT will help, the only thing which matters is your TV. You can always rewatch after you've seen the episode on TV.

2. PLEASE DO NOT GIVE UP at the drop of of a hat! That is the problem with most MKAPians, they simply quit watching the show if they are even minimally dissatisfied with the story. Please stick to the show, apart from 1 or 2 tracks, the story has always been very interesting.

3. If at all possible, try praising the show in front of other ppl, so that they also start watching 😉... the more the merrier, the more the TRPs.

4. This is for the SP channel... PLEASE PROMOTE THE SHOW AGGRESSIVELY. Good promotion makes all the difference, even the most meaningless shows gain viewers if there is a lot of promotion.

😆 I know, long post... usually I don't do TRP posts, but I got inspired today 😆... time for you to do the same.

(Ps. if I'm not allowed to post tables/pics from other websites, then someone pls let me know and I'll remove the table. 😕 And please don't use it to compare shows, use it as an inspiration)

hmm elle I am short of words still thinking how to say thanks dear very excellent post well said u deserve a standing ovation dear now this shows what mkap is for u and many of us yaara I am in australia my viewing mkap can raise trps orr its for indian audiences only

The trps of kyunki-kahani are not possible...coz they didn't had that many competition as us and moreover those days the saas-bahu soaps were the trends ...hence people watched it ...I admit even I watched it...

But now people are just sick of it after watching it for years...and CVs needs to understand that MKAP's charm is its uniqueness...

But have to accept that our fans just lose interest at a drop of a hat...it's been repeatedly proven that MKAP is not a loyalty driven soap...else why is our show not picking up??...These tracks is interesting for the mass audience who watches it...yet no change...😕😕
Although I really like the points you have pointed out on raising the trps...and really appreciate it 😃😃😃

Please all the people in india...go and watch the show in TV..rather than on youtube...😊

Iam watching in Tv, all the reoeat tekecast too... even iam in computer, my Tv will be in for MKAP alone...😛

I think so too that some effect is due to the IPL... but notice how some shows are maintaining TRPs even during IPL? Let's see, from next week, the ratings should be up then 😊

Even I watched Kyunki 😊 I loved the show, the whole concept was very new at that time, and even the amnesia and plastic surgeries and coming-back-from-the-dead tracks were extremely interesting. I must admit, it is one of my fav shows till date, coz I did enjoy watching it. Shows after that, just copied the same formula over and over till it became sickening. And even though I loved Kyunki, I can't stand similar shows now.

Yes, those days there was little competition, but not zero competition. New shows cropped up pretty soon, but notice how they didn't even hit the charts, EVERY SINGLE DAY is ruled by these 2 shows. And even if you open ratings from 2005-2006, the situation is the same, with these two on top every day. That is an achievement.

These shows were also loyalty driven, the tracks were horrible from time to time, yet viewers stuck to the show. They were so much in love with Tulsi-Mihir and Parvati that they watched NO MATTER WHAT.

You're right that MKAP is not a loyalty-driven show, but then... why not? If loyalty drives TRPs, then that's the best thing isn't it? When other shows are loyalty driven, then why not our show?

Yes...I did browse through the trps of the last few years...after kyunki-kahani...there hasn't been any shows which has matched up to the trps of that show..Bidaai had very high trps at one point when one of their leads were getting married about 7-8ish...

I still don't know why our show is not loyalty driven...that's why I always fear whether our show will bounce back or not...😕😕

Well let's see after the IPL is over..how things will be..😕
