Think Shaan, and you can't help but wonder why those eyes never stop smiling. From playback singing to albums that youngsters go gaga over, he's carved a niche everywhere. "And the response that I am getting for my latest album is keeping me on a high," he says. He is busy these days with a television show. And there is also a lot of playbacking to look forward to. His forthcoming concert trip to the US, is demanding and he is up to some heavy-duty rehearsals. Shaan is also busy with playback singing for several forthcoming films. As for albums, he's going a little slow on that front. "I am focusing more on doing some real good videos for songs in Tishnagi," he says. "I am quite excited about my video Take me to your heart which is a collaboration with Michael Learns to Rock. "It's good fun and the blend has brought in a whole different flavour to indipop," he says. "My songs are not meant for a club environment. They are very one-to-one." And he attributes a lot of his professional success to his wife, Radhika who doesn't sing but is quite involved with this work. "I think one singer in the family is one too many," he says. As for the kids, he says, "They assume that all daddies come on TV!" |
