The first segment was maha Izhuvai - KB sir, vendaam, naangale rombha nOndhu
pOi unga kitte relief kku varrom !!!! Sathya is with his editor - another magazine called
Kangal - Sathya Alli vidaraar - to increase the circulation. In short, he targets
Shanthi Nilayam again - muted dialogues le kathai solraar , Salima kathai - Editor kku
Ore dream - ippO ve circulation engiyO pOchu nnu !!! Aakash meets Maha / Hassina
and apologizes for his rudeness. Maha is maha happy that Aakash is so considerate.

Nadu theru - Sathya meets his Police friend - both have a common axe to grind -
Rathi ivanga rendu per moonjileyum smeared lignite 😉 -Sathya asks for money
and the inspector says that he is just on his way for collection - athu sari. Bharath
Vicky comes to meet financier Prem. and Mani asks him to be seated - "Sir romba mukkiayamaana velai le irukkar ..pls wait " Bharath Vicky is ready to worship the
sand Prem walks on, wait panna maattaraa enna?? 😉 Inside , Prem is in his
elements - enna matter?? Avar kannule oru property pattu duthu - athai miratti
urutti owner kitte irunthu vaangaraar - Oru chinna payyan life is at stake - so antha
owner sign panni aDi maattu vialikku property ai kudukkaraar - nondhu nOol aagi
. Prem calls Bharath to come in.

Apdiye plate ai thrippi pOdaraar AC - tells Bharath that the people in front of him
are his friends - "ippO kOnjam kashtam, so they need money . I am ready to give
them with out any conditions but they are forcing me to buy their house !!! " Bharath
apdiye urugi pOraar. Prem takes him in for further talks. Bharath talks about his story
and Prem says " yes yes...I just have a small correction to your story...if it is OK with
you.." Of course Bharath has to agree "any thing you say, sir.."

Update for Tues, May 17, 2011: By Eljay

PK is going somewhere in the car and dreaming about Rathy. He tells his secretary, Mani, that he wants to make her his own, wants to see her again and again, and the secretary says he needs an excuse if he wants to see her in the hospital. PK looks at the street ahead, and points to an old lady and says, There is the reason. Mani hits the old lady, PK runs out and is all concern and brings the lady to the hospital.

Rathy is attending to the old lady and scolding the driver who hit her, probably he was drunk or a hit-and-run case, and PK steps forward. He says he saw the accident, he was driving the car and saw the old lady getting hit by someone in another car, so he brought the old lady (slick Willy, indeed!). He says his secretary told him not to get involved but he wouldn't listen and says all the expenses are on him, and gives her a blank check for the expenses. Rathy laughs and says this won't do, so he promptly says he will write out another check. She says it is enough if he pays at the time of discharge. She asks the old lady who lives with her, it turns out the old lady lives alone. PK is listening to all this (and thinking how he can use it to his advantage).

Rathy's periappa looks like he is having a heart attack, clutches his chest and takes his own time to put some medicine in his mouth (nitroglycerine?) and then phones Naren and asks him to come, without saying what the problem is (can't he buzz some secretary or someone? He is the chairman of this hospital, surely there is an attender to attend to him.). Naren comes in, asks what the matter is, and his phone rings. It is Ezhil again (she is such a nuisance!), he cuts the phone, and Periappa wants to know who called. Naren mazhuppufies, and asks Periappa the matter. Periappa doesn't tell him anything, but says he will come the next day at 7 a.m and asks Naren to run tests (typical doctor, he is in denial when he has the problem).

Akash is in Salima's room when his phone rings. While he is talking on the phone, he sees some movement in Salima's hand and remembers the time when Hasina said that her mother opened her eyes, but he didn't believe her. Now he calls to Salima, then he goes to the doctor in charge, and tells him that he saw her hand moving and asks him to check her out. On his way, he sees Hasina and tells her that he also saw movement. He tells Hasina that he is convinced that she will recover soon, and tells her to continue talking to Salima. Hasina is overwhelmed, she is unable to speak to Salima because she is so emotional now.

Rathy is in her office and she is told that PK wants to meet her. He comes inside, is lost in admiring her face when he sits down until she brings him back to earth! He says he didn't sleep all night because he was praying for the old woman's safe recovery (liar, liar!) and tells Rathy to keep her as long as needed in the hospital. Rathy praises his good nature and quotes a kural which she says describes him. He says she is much greater and he is not even worthy of sitting across from her, he should be sitting on the ground (nalla pesa theriyudhu!). He wants to know if her family is related to Bharathiyar, she says No, he says he admires her love of Tamil and is going to speak only in Tamil from now on. If he speaks in English, sorry, Aangilam, by accident, he is going to impose a fine on himself - Rs.1000 - and give it all to some charity at the end of the month. Naren comes in just then, Rathy introduces them, PK says Naren is the one who is going to marry Rathy. Rathy wants to know how he knows this, he says Mani Bharathy told him, then turns around and says this wedding will not take place. Rathy and Naren are stunned into silence, then PK completes it by saying that they are not going to get married now, but after 18 months, and he knows this too because Mani Bharathy told him. He insists on shaking Naren's hand, much to his discomfiture, and takes leave of them. After he leaves, Naren says that something is not right about this man, and warns Rathy about him. Rathy says he is just jealous of him and says that PK is a very good guy. Naren says No, there is something fishy and he can tell it from his attitude (he can see PK and read him immediately, but can't read Ezhil's attitude? Must be blind!). Rathy says he is being possessive here, just the way he accused her of being when she said something about Ezhil (good for you, Rathy! You hit the nail on the head!). She assures Naren that nobody can take her away from him, she will always belong to him!

Thursday 19.5.2011 - By Srima

Akash back from his Bangalore , trip goes straight to meet the Chairman , finds him fallen on the ground unconscious , rushes him to the ICU. Dr. Naren is called , immediate medical attention given. Chairman is out of danger. Naren informs Akash about chairman's heart problem & recommended rest . Akash angry with Naren for keeping him in dark. Naren throws up his hands ' chairman's order not to tell akash & Rathi , couldn't go against it. Anyways consoles Akash, nothing serious & his dad will get well soon.

Mahasina [ Maha or hasina - Sathya's doubt] waiting for Arvind in the park . Meets journalist Sathya , have conversation over a cup of coffee. Sathya gently tries to probe about the pardha matter. Maha sirichu mazhuppafies. Arvind's arrival sabotages Sathya's plans , poor fellow takes leave. Arvind tells Maha about the OK signal from his parents for their marriage, wants immediate marriage. Maha is not ready for it , usual arguments , all being happily watched from a distance by sathya.

Chairman is on the road to recovery. Akash & Naren having a chat with him. Naren speaks about Akash's panic & worry which has really taken a toll on his health. Chairman laughs it off at Akash's panic ,boasts of his self confidence & faith in self which will keep Mr. Yamadharma Rajan at bay & accelerate his recovery , confirms it with a short story of an accident patient defying doctor's predictions & surviving solely because of faith in self ... yet again in denial -,blames mochakottai kuzhambu for the discomfiture.Dr. Naren & Akash no more ready to buy these excuses , prescribes complete rest for one week.

'Kangal' editor asks Sathya about the juicy write up on Shanthi Nilayam. Sathya gives a kutty prasangam on investigative journalism ,lengthy process , matter have to be collected , write & rewrite them , then prepare the final version , get editor's approval & then go for the printing. Editor has least patience for all this , feels Sathya is pretty slow. Second short story time ...by Sathya on professional excellency ... yaaawn , so does the editor.

Dinner treat for PK at Vicky's house. [Thalavali for Rathi] PK very appreciative of the dinner ,also of their Tiruvanmiyur house [ doubt whether this man is really a financier or property swindler], but says missed his sweetest item ' Rathi Barathi. Emergency case ,hence delayed , will be back soon says Vicky Pk vazhi mel vizhi vaithu kaathirukking for Rathi, paying little attention to Vicky's conversation. Finally Rathi arrives . PK asks Vicky if he had forwarded his marriage proposal to his sister. Vicky hesitates , PK says , not to bother , he will take the mantle in his hands. Vicky relieved. Rathi comes inside , apologises for her inability to join them at dinner. Vicky sings PK praise. Rathi too joins him , lists the good deeds done by PK , top it up with his Thamizh patru, his decision to pay aparadham to old age home [ pity that old age home] for every single usage of English. Vicky then leaves them alone on the pretext of calling somebody. Eerie silence between them with PK's lecherous look at Rathi & she squirming. Later Rathi warns him about her brother's fickle mindedness & not to burn his hands by financing his project. PK gives her the shock of her life ' is sinking money in the project , not for Vicky's sake but for Rathi's. Yes says PK ' he is in love with her , love at first sight , madly in love with her so much so is going to change his name from PK to Rathi Bharathi Dasan on the lines of Barathi dasan . Shell shocked Rathi asks him to stop his fantasies , says her marriage will happen only with Naren. PK retorts his love is true & the fact will be established the day he ties the thali on her neck. Irritated Rathi shows him the door , PK parts with the words ' meendum sandhippom', leaving helpless Rathi staring.

Total aparadham to be paid to old age home is around RS. 16000. Am sure the old age home will be poorer by this amount.

Is PK really interested in Rathi or her money?

a doctor friend who refuses to run any tests on himself "my mom has
diabetes, family history of BP..I know for sure that I have some thing, why
run tests and confirm" is the attitude!!! Doctorsss, Roja says it

@Roja, that comment was from personal experience - an uncle, who was a doctor, and had severe pain in the shoulder, told his wife that he would see the cardiologist in the morning, and didn't live to see the dawn. Another uncle, also a doctor, knew he had diabetes, would eat only godumbai ravai when he visited us, but would see one hand if there was any payasam or other goodies around, in fact, he would ask my mother why she hadn't made any payasam for the visiting mappilai, even though he had been married to my aunt for a longer period than my parents!

Thanks Eclat and Srima - ya I too have the same doubt - PK seems to
adore the house and Rathi - in that same order !!! One thing good though - unlike the usual Tamzih serial's Lakshanam, PK announces his intention - directly !!!

Thanks, eclat and Srima! I have no doubts - PK wants both Rathy and the money, and he is used to getting whatever he wants, at his price. For the first time, he will not get his way. This will definitely be worth watching.

That Secretary Mani had such a long face in Thirupaavai I wondered if he could even smile! He looks much brighter here. Now my question is - if PK is to be paired with Ezhil, what about Mani? Does he get a pair? And it looks like Satya may soon be chasing Maha with other ideas in his mind. What do you all think? And do we see a likely match for Akash anywhere?
