I'm a fan of Imtiaz Ali's take on romance. His characters are mostly rebellious and unconventional. I enjoyed JWM, LAK, SNT and also Ahista Ahista (writer).

He has taken a deviation with Rockstar. The stills till now are just okay. Nargis Fakhri is pretty and the other female lead Aditi Rao (Delhi 6's bua) is a good actor. I like Ranbir Kapoor yet Rockstar isn't generating much interest as of now. I accidently chanced upon Rock On and loved it, so sometimes films with absolutely no expectation work well too. It has in my case.

Rockstar looks like a film in the same genre. From the stills and Ranbir's Jim Morrison look, it seems that the film has a major flashback and Aditi Rao (just like Rani Mukherjee's character in Veer-Zara) searches for the old forgotten iconic Rockstar and explores his life. From some stills there's a hint that Ranbir Kapoor like Jim Morrison has an extremely high IQ, was a geek in school. I think as more stills and promos appear, this could turn interesting.

MBKD storyline is same as Sorry Bhai and "inspired" from Dan in Real Life. So no surprises there. The stills are interesting though, Katrina and Imran Khan look good onscreen.

It seems like later half of the year has many big stars' clash.

Ranbir-Imran rivalry gets dirtier

Who will you go for if Imran Khan and Ranbir Kapoor's film releases on the same day? Ranbir or Imran or both? Well, that's exactly what might get you into a quandary in the second week of September.

While Ranbir's next Rockstar is slated to hit the theatres on September 9, the latest news in the trade is that Imran starrer Mere Brother Ki Dulhan, will also release on the same date. Incidentally, Mere Brother Ki Dulhan will see Ranbir's ex Katrina Kaif rubbing shoulders with Imran.

A source from the trade says, "Ranbir and Imran are the flavour of the season. It will be interesting to see which film does better.

Both may click, but surely, both can't acquire exactly the same collections. Comparisons may be unfair but they're inevitable."

The source further adds, "However, there is one hitch. The clash can be avoided only if the co-producers of Rockstar, Eros International and Shree Ashtavinayak resolve their dispute (On May 12, Mumbai Mirror reported how both corporates recently accused each other of unprofessional practices)."
