Hii
Harry Potter has been such a big part of my life, its what inspired me to want to be a writer, it's how I made close friends, its what got me into reading, it was there with me as I grew from a 9 year old dork to a [...] year old dork XD. I remember at a time Harry was so much older than me- than I surpassed him lol! I don't want it to end!

I actually couldn't imagine my life without it either.
The series alone got me into reading and from then on, I read so much. And I always think it's the norm, but my friends seem to think reading is boring and they'd much rather watch t.v. 😃

The Harry Potter series was the first books that got me into fantasy reading. Without them I most likely wouldn't have read the many great fantasy book series out there. I probably wouldn't even read as much to be honest!

I used to write fanfics for the series when I was younger, and I can honestly say that the writing and reading of Harry Potter fanfiction improved my vocabulary and communication skills drastically.

can't Imagine my life without HP 😃

Oh I have grown up with Harry!! I was 10-11 when I read the first Potter book, so you could say I started out at the same age as Harry, Ron and Hermione.

Then, I read the next 2 books (CoS and PoA) back to back. And GoF released that year, so they sort of aged ahead of me.

Then there was a whole big 3 year wait for OotP and by HBP I was again at the same age as the Trio.

And DH was just so epic and I LOVED the fact that I started and end the series at the same age, as the three main leads of the series :D

Imagining life without Harry Potter is almost impossible because, y'know, I wouldn't really have a life without it at all, would I? 😆 Jokes aside, I honestly don't think my life would have been what it is today. I know many would say it is impractical and absolutely ridiculous to get so much wrapped up with a fictional book - but I disagree. Because, for me, they are much more than "just a series of books". It is a part of my life, part of my childhood, adolescent, growing up and understanding life. I read the books at a time when I was suffering from depression, and the books amazingly helped me cope up with it. I also developed an interest in literature and writing, thanks to the Harry Potter books. And J. K. Rowling had been an inspiration to me - that woman struggled, fought, worked hard and survived, and look, where it brought her today. No wonder she is the most inspirational figure to me - after my mother, that is.

totally agree with you...there are many things that I grew up with but nothing has influenced me more than Harry Potter...I can almost say Harry was my first friend in an unknown country...(I moved from India to US when I was 11) and HP was the first book I had read in a long time during that period...and I just could not put any of the books down, then came the movies and I've never looked back since

Harry Potter taught me so much and my family often laughs at me for that but its something that cannot be explained..only a true Potter nerd can explain it. JKR is probably the biggest inspiration because she is simply amazing, the epitome of creativity and genius (in my eyes) and the one person who has given people like me the courage to imagine and create

for me the series will live on forever...I will never get rid of my books or movies and will keep them till I die...its a promise

I honestly can't imagine a life without it. Like many others have said here, I personally always look to JKR and her books whenever I need inspiration to go on or courage to face my fears. I think these books have taught to me what really matters in life and what doesn't as well as to be myself in life and continue being the person who I truly am no matter what the odds might be. :) As for the love of reading, I have always loved reading since I was kid, so that's no issue haha. But yeah, her books have given me a lot of inner strength...as with most HP readers, in the beginning, I was hooked onto the humor and adventure in the books and now it's much much more. :) As I grow older, I find myself re-discovering, reflecting and understanding more and more about the HP world and how it all fits together, I can read them over and over until the end of life most probably...her books are about the truths everyone knows yet wouldn't express -such a relief they are! They might be 'fantasy' books, but I find them even more real than the so called real books. Moreover, I can't think of a more humble and inspirational person than JKR. In short, these books have given me hope and light in times of darkness, and someone or something can have that effect on me, it's special.
