Lovely post.
Let me share a small story where the Lord comes to the rescue of his devotee.
a husband and wife were living in a small village. The husband was a pawn-broker who was extremely stringy, miserly and petulant to the core. His wife was an extremely pious lady highly devoted to the Lord and devoid of materialistic pleasures. She was extremely kind-hearted and would liberally donate much to the dislike of her husband. She was also scared of her husband.
One day a poor man was in need of money and came to the pawn-broker for help and he refused him and drove him away from his vicinity. this man knew his wife was good, and therefore went to her for help. the lady was moved by the sadness of the poor man and she offered him her nose-ring. the poor man was extremely touched and blessed her and left for the pawn-broker's shop to get it converted into money. the moment the pawn-broker saw the ring he recognised it and knew it belonged to his wife. He asked the poor man to wait for him and went to confront his wife and ordered her to show her nose-ring. The poor lady was so scared of her husband that she surrendered to her Lord and asked him for help. As she opened her eyes, she found the nose-ring in the milk-bowl which she had offered to the Lord. she took the nose-ring to her husband and he was baffled as both the rings looked alike. He ran to his shop and the poor man had vanished. The poor man was none other than the Lord himself who came to test his devotee. the pawn-broker turned a new leaf and devoted the rest of his life for God. this story is of the renowned Purandaradasa who had many compositions in praise of the Lord.
Here is one verse from his compositions which touches my heart. It is in Kannada and will translate in English.
Naanu, Nannadu emba Narakadolage Biddu,
Neene gathi endu nambida dasana mele
Innu daya barade dasana mela.
It means---I fell in the hell where I thought of ME, MINE and MYself and now I request you to give me deliverance from this hell, dont you have pity on me OH LOrd!
the Lord has to come to the succour of his devotee and Kanha will come for Radhika.
