In Defence of Jai Walia....

😆 I thought, after reading all the anti-Jai reactions on the Forum, one has to put in a word for Cuddles also! Arre, itna bhi bura nahin hai woh.....

Actually, in yesterday's episode, Jai doesn't scold or insult Bani at all.....his attitude suggests more of a helpless frustration against Bani rather than any real anger or insult. Jai tells Bani that if she cooks such good food for Mausi and takes so much care of her, what will happen when she leaves the house.....Jai then says that he can never match up to Bani......the reason why Bani cries in the end, once Jai leaves is that he talks about Bani leaving the house, which hurts her......but then again, the same thing is bothering Jai also.....the only difference, one is hiding his insecurity behind a "I-don't-give-a-damn" attitude and the other prefers to shed quiet tears! But the pain is equal in measure!

So obviously, Khadoos gives a hidden compliment to Bani, in his own "Khadoos" way that is!!! Jai is extremely insecure about Bani leaving him, and he obviously cannot say it in words but at the same time, he wanted to convey it to Bani......so he did it in the best manner he could, RUDELY!😡

Also, the expression he had in their bedroom, when Bani tells Jai not to leave his own room, was completely indicative of the fact that he is guilty as hell for treating Bani in such a degrading manner and the fact that he wanted to leave the room was, because he knows in his heart, that he cannot face her alone!

As far as Bani is concerned, she is simply besotted with Jai......all the things she remembers while she is lying down see her reflecting on the moments they spent together....the girl is obviously falling hopelessly in love.....I thought it was pretty clear! It is only in love, when you are ready to close your eyes to all the faults and failings of your loved one.......howmuchever they hurt you! Hence, if Bani has chosen to fall in love with a man whom she knows is going to hurt her like hell, then it is her choice, that she has made herself......how on Earth is it Jai's problem?😕

Also, if Bani has decided to be Mother Teresa, that doesn't automatically make Jai a Hitler......it is Bani's prerogative to stand up against Jai if she thinks that he is ill-treating her! She doesn't have one single reason to put up with Jai and his attitude, although Jai has lots of reasons to have Bani in his life! Hence, Jai is not really the monster that he is being made these days, its just that Bani is being the "Little Red Riding Hood" who wants to be devoured by the Fox!😉Just because Bani is being so benevolent and great doesn't mean that Jai has to be nice to her......he did not ask her to come back to Walia House, she did so of her own will!

As far as Bani being unrealistic is concerned, well what can I say except that the World is a very large place and every individual is distinct from the other in one aspect or the other, hence if we have people who are the heights of selfishness, then I am sure God must have made someone who is very epitome of sacrifice and selflessness! Bani just happens to be a specimen of the latter kinds.....😆

The biggest mistake committed by Jai till date has been the words he used against Bani......but he hasn' t done one pyhsical harm to her or to her sisters....he just threatened, but never really did anything......he was supposed to send Pushkar to jail, he did not, he was supposed to stop Pia's wedding, he couldn't, he was supposed to teach Bani the lessons in marriage, he chose not to, he didn't want to free Bani from the marriage, but he did so finally without any pre-conditions......so, is he really as bad as he makes himself out to be???

Jai has not punished Bani for anything till date, it is Bani who has chosen to put her head in the Gulliton....Bani has a choice, she can walk out of the marriage any day, any time she wants to....if she choses to stick by it and put up with Jai's temper tantrums, it is her individual choice that she has made of her own free will.

Overall, I agree that Jai is being quite a pig-head these days, but in the end, he is doing all this because he is as much a victim of circumstances and manipulation as Bani is......and once he gets to know the truth, there won't be anyone in the world with a greater sense of self-remorse and guilt.....😭

Just my two bits.....love to hear your views on the same! Please don't come hitting me for supporting Cuddles......😳

Hey MT, I'm totally with you. We have to understand that your cuddles 😳 has reasons to behave in the manner he does. He is confused as to how should he be treating Bani so he does what he does best...... BEING RUDE.......

No matter what he does, he does it brilliantly and I just love him for that........ his ability to do justice to his role............ well done Ram, you are immensely loved by me and my friends. As soon as I come to work, the first thing I do is switch on my PC and log in the forum to catch the updates. MT, you and Doe are doing are marvellous job. Our whole day at work is spent discussing KS [whatever time we get to chat] and I even take print outs of updates for my mom to read at home.

So I have actually succeeded in getting everyone I know involved somehow or the other.

As all you people have put it so beautifully Bani is def in love. and as MT says I don't know when it actually started. Maybe seeing Jai hurt over Pia Bani started understanding his pain and in the process of doing so fell in love with him herself. Even though Jai is surrounded by people but Bani understands that Jai is actually a vey lonely person. She also knows that within his tough exterior he is a man who is very soft and good hearted (all said and done he did help them when they were in Mumbai initially and gave Bani a job as well). So I think in case of Bani it was a very slow process of falling in love.

I agree with Anu,MT regarding the last scene. Jai looked so miserable requesting Bani not to make Maasi used to her presence as he clearly says that he cannot offer the same kind of comfort level to maasi once she leaves. poor guy. The fact is he also is slowly getting used to Bani around. Jai has some kind of feelings for Bani but his other stronger feelings are stopping him from realizing his true feelings for her. For once Jai just agreed to whatever Bani said and slept on the other side. I once again saw some symbolism here. Though they begin by sleeping facing opp sides but after day break (meaning all problems sorted out) they face each other. If I may add here Jai is still asleep. So I feel that Bani will be the 1st one to accept/realize that her feelings for Jai are beyond any call of duty/obligation but rather its something called as love. Jai will be blissfully remain unaware of his feelings.

Jai did not do anything to Aditya when he helps Bani and Pushkar. jai knows where Push is but still he has not sent him to jail. If jai so wants he can really cause Pia-Push's destruction but he has not done so. Goes on to prove that Jai is just making these statements as he is completely broken. Most of the times he is really good at heart that is stopping him from taking the extreme step. Agreed that Jai did use some real bad words for Bani. I think there also his misery is the root cause. He never expected Bani to be with him for the sake of money. So that proof kind of shook him up and he went a bit overboard. Mind you am not justifying him but rather just trying to find the reasons for his overboard dialogues the other day.

MT btw am waiting to answer ur questions of the day. !!!!

Hey MT, Jai Walia can never have a better defence advocate that you. Extremely well argued and justified - I am totally with you. You have the gift of the written word and put it down perfectly down to the T.

I know I am repeating myself but love, love, love your posts - keep the flowing. 👍🏼

Thanks MT for putting this up... i was feeling so terrible yday coz everyone were behind Jai with brickbats 😭 especially after his scene with Bani i was feeling SAD for both Jai & Bani.
Jai hai hi aisa, no point in wishing he will change. If he does change and stop being the khadoos he is, he will lose the Magic.
He cant express himself properly, but that doesnt mean he doesnt care. One thing i have realised is never take Jai's words at face value... they always say something... mean the opposite. He raised his voice Yday but he didnt yell at Bani. Infact i thought Jai told Bani about the importance of her in his life. Mt heart went out to him when he said 'Itna kareeb math hojana, ke tumse dur hojana mushkil hojaye' 😭 😭 😭

I agree Jai isnt at his best behaviour with Bani... but Bani is far too perfect and Jai is just Human. Jai must have something inherently Good in him that despite everything Bani seems to have fallen in love with this man. And it has nothing to do with sympathy for him.
What jai means to Bani is evident from the song 'kise kare shikwa, waqt kaisa aya... aankhen dekhaye apna hi HUMSAAYA' Bani has been someone who is very strong... but looks like if there is a person in this whole wide world who she will show her human side to, then it is ONLY Jai. That song meant now that Jai is angry with her, she has lost even that comfort zone 😭 😭 😭
Jai isnt Bad at all... at this point in time he is hurt, in pain, confused... i am sure he will come around. He already has... but he chooses not to be obvious about it. Typically Jai.

Swathi, that was beautifully put. U r right, Jai is ignorant about his feeling and blissfully at that. He seemed to have a kind fo peace on his face when he slept... it must had everything to do with comfort of knowing Bani is Back😉

😆 😆 Nice said!

I agree with you MT. I really think and hope Bani will stand more up mr. Walia just like she used to do. That was one of the things that made her character so cool. She respected mr. Walia, but made sure he wouldn't cross the line by accusing or insulting her family. Nowadays she seems to more and more become the silent 'weak' girl who takes everything in fear. Eventhough she isn't and I sure hope not the writers will make her character like that. 😭

I was thinking of the same things that you had posted. I read a lot of posts from members saying Bani is unrealistic as you will not find anybody like her in real life or how can she love a person like Jai or why can she not take a stand against Jai. Well, I have met women worse than Bani that are so blind in love (I cringe when they say that), that they are taking years of physical & mental abuse from their partners or husbands!!

Now in Bani's case, first she has seen the good side of Jai and knows that deep down he is a loving and caring individual. When a person knows somebody that well, it is hard for them to make a 180 degree change to their opinion.

Second thing to be noted is that Bani is a young lonely woman. I think she probably never had a free and unencumbered childhood or teenage years as she became responsible for a wayward and drunken father and her two younger sisters after their mother's death - poor girl did not even complete here studies. So in terms of that, she has matured way beyond her years. In Jai she sees an anchor - a rock that she can rely on and kinda ease some of the burden that she feels. Wouldn't it be nice to be loved by a wonderful & powerful man who will take care of her, instead of she being the one that provides that support?? I see Bani tired of all family responsibility. She is what I would right now call "very needy". I don't mean to take away the fact that Bani truly loves Jai - I meant she is needy enough to overlook all his faults at this time.

Last, but not least, good girls are always attracted to bad boys!! When I look around I'm amazed by how common this is. I guess it is nurturing instinct in a woman that tells her that she can change this man to a nicer person by being loving, caring and showering them with a lot of positive attention. Isn't this what our dear Bani is doing?

With the above being said, I think Bani & Jai make a rocking couple. What a perfect foil they are for each other. He - a worldly-wise and powerful man with a ruthless (seems like) aura and she - an innocent lily of the valley so fragile and dainty, yet so strong and compassionate. I should say I have never seen such an awesome pairing on television or even in movies since a long time.

BTW, MT I love your thought provoking questions.

Thanks

Since I have not seen the episode I have just one question. Why does Jai tell Bani not to get too close to Mausi and what will happen once she leaves but I think Bani is supposed to leave after Mausi goes away. So Jai will not have to do anything to match upto Bani - Mausi will be gone anyways. So what was Jai's reasoning for that kind of a question?

What Jai meant was that when Mausi leaves the Walia House, she might come back one day again.....but if Bani leaves his house, she will never turn back to look at him.......so if Mausi drops by again, what explanation will he give to her regarding the breaking of his marriage with Bani? Also, Jai meant that even if he is able to explain why the marriage couldn't work out to Mausi, how will he match up to Bani's love and care that she is showering on Mausi......

Jai says a wonderful line, which was meant for Mausi, but actually he was saying it for himself, 'Itna kareeb math hojana, ke tumse dur hojana mushkil hojaye'

Jai himself is hopelessly in the spin of Bani's love and understands that their painful past will not be able to let them lead a life together, then why put yourself through more pain.......

I hope that clarifies your doubts Pinku!!! Thanks for the compliment to the post....😳😊

Love,

MT
