Agree about Anant.....he doesn't TRY to go for cool.....he seems to be one of those naturally self-assured kind of guys so that's where the "coolness" comes from.....but the boyish aspects are very much there as well so he realistically comes across as an average college going kid who nevertheless is sensible and a genuinely nice guy......a rarity in general😆

😆 Real life ka toh pata nahi , but DEFINITELY a rarity in TV-dom 😆 so finally writers understood that you don't need to use 'cool lingo' and catchphrases ripped off from 90s American high school movies to capture a college kid's life 😆 Agree about the self-assurance...and it's not just him thankfully , even the other kids in the group aren't , you know , closet wannabes :P With the exception of the great Sonia of course...Navya's friends and Ranvir seem to be normal , relatable people as well 😆

His family is weird though.....they seem to be transplanted straight from some K-soap.....what a contrast😆

WITH the nasty bhabhi 😆 SP show hai... jo bhi melodrama hoga aage jaake , it's obviously going to be from Anant's family's side..Navya's parents are conservative as well but they seem to be more open and definitely more sensible.

Re: Navya.....yes she does seem to represent the aam college girl from India too....I'm happy about how they transitioned over post the first few times AN met and her giant crush on him robbed her of the power of speech.....lol.....but given the unusual circumstances they ended up meeting for after that.....regarding Sonia who seems to have unintentionally become a bit of a cupid here😆.......those interactions have shown a development in Navya.....which I guess is realistic that with time she moves beyond being so tongue-tied around him and manages to actualy talk to him despite the fact that she's still so obviously attracted to him and besotted by him😆....maybe it's also to Anant's credit that he's helped her relax and ease up in some way each time they've interacted.....and all that came pouring out of Navya in the emergency situation of Sonia's suicide attempt😆

Yeah the auto scene....I was really dreading it in the bit when the dupatta flew over his face and I was like oh crap.....ho gaya kalyaan is show ka ab.....but it was his bemusement that saved the scene....like he too was bemused about this silly dupatta crap like the rest of us are😆.....his surprisingly normal reactions saved it for me....no extended OTT eyelocks despite Navya being all wide-eyed staring at him continuously and you know the other surprisingly normal bit in that scene? When Navya tells him to move over to her side to get away from the rain....I was like wow she TALKS around him?😲😆......that too for a sensible reason😆...haan she was awkward about it understandably baad mein but still nothing really OTT.....so I was fine with it😆

With you on that one 😆 That's the reason I liked that particular bit as well...it was sweet , sort of , not saccharine . Yet 😆 When it comes to our shows , ALWAYS *conditions apply. What I would really like to know , however , is how her dupatta flew into his face in the first place when he'd just pulled down the shade/cover thingy on that side of the auto just moments earlier 😆 *cool I-spotted-it muh*

LOL...could that be the reason why a show has brought us both to the same forum after ages?😆....anywhoo....yeah agree with you....I also like that about Anant's interactions with Navya.....he cares but just in a simply nice way......he's a gentleman and there aren't any stupid senseless romantic overtures....Ahh initial Mayank....don't remind me....the good ol days *sigh*.....lol.....but yeah Anant seems to be different with the whole deal in a sense cuz he is much more easy-going like you said.

Arrrrr. If THAT's the reason we landed up here , going by the past record , doesn't bode well :P I just thought he'd be like that from what I saw of the promos..there was one where he was nicely intoning 'Mujhe khushi hai , ki I'm not so cool' and looking amused in general.

But when I started watching the show tab toh pata chal gaya ki he's hardly Mayoo 😆 Like you mentioned , Mayank was so much more focussed and aloof...and the sarcasm of the statue-of-liberty ilk of course

Oh and I have to mention her interactions with her daadi......I think like EVERY girl identifies....wohi lectures about learning to cook, do ghar ka kaam nicely to get married and she's like but I'm not going to get married only much to her daadi's horror😆......in most soaps, they show this in an OTT melodramatic manner but this banter b/w Navya and her daadi feels very natural.....I swear I've had atleast one convo like this with my own naani😆

😆 Hehehehe...the dadi's funny sometimes 😆 And I totally identify with the hey-bhagwaan-kya-hoga-is-ladki-ka drama 😆

LMAO yeah ! The saddest thing is that Sonia won't be sticking around...her and her psycho-ness I can deal with and so can Anant and Navya I guess 😆 Problem toh woh bhabhi hai...AND the khadus grandpa and bua-dadi / whoever she is 😆 Anant's dad is strict for sure but he seems to be nice

but i guess that's all a part of the story....and one can ignore the stereotypicality (dunno if there's such a word) of such characters as far as the leads remain the way they have been written----different from the past and ongoing "youth" shows.

@anu--- oh don't remind me of that "my dil goes dhin tana" song....😳 i shall hit the "mute" button whenever it comes from now on. I don't like that version wee bit! The original version is so so so so so much better.
