http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Uttaran Came across the story of uttaran in wikipedia :) enjoi reading it few lines from the link

Reception

Earlier the show was praised due to its strong sense of theme. But currently the reception has been overwhelmingly negative. A lot of sensible viewers have shown their distress due to the prolonged success of the negative characters over the truthful protagonists. According to them it sends wrong signal to the society. The show has achieved a 25% rating on the TV soap's rating website. Some viewers even demands the termination of this serial with immediate effect as it is giving negative impact on the society.

I say to wekipidia... lagta hai trp nahi dekhte ye log..
uttaran still in trp at no.1 every time.....
So means people like uttaran aur kuch maje ke liye log serial dekhte hai ..unn logo ne hicha ki acting dekhi hai.. kalank hai lead ke naam pe.. agar iss main protogonist ko main bana deige to gaya bahd me serial aur director paisa kaha se kamaya ga.. inke baap dege ya ichcha ki achchai dilwayegi.....

I dont think so, in wikipedia all the information is up-to-date and its truth,

I think they have explained the story very well and this is how it is.. that is ichcha is standing for truth always.. and tapasya is always destroying her own life and putting other's life also in stress..

Influence ki kya baat hai bilkul sahi hai....
and straightly....people wrriten because of hate towards only one charactor that is tapasya...
negetivity ki koi baat hai he nahi.......
