Star Plus is turning its axe on 'Behenein', which recently celebrated one-year on-air recently.
According to reports, the show was given a three-month extension in February and the time has come now for the show to wrap up due to faling viewing figures.
'Behenein'is likely to go off-air in May to be replaced with another show from the same production house - Hats Off Productions.
Reports also suggest that actress Shiju Kataria who plays Smriti on the show may get replaced due to her 'tantrums'. Having said this, if the channel issues an official confirmation of 'Behenein' wrapping up in May, the production house might continue to put on with the actor's tantrums and keep her till the end of it.
Shiju Kataria told TellyBuzz, "Actually I was planning to opt out of the show. I don't see any growth in my character, and don't want to renew my contract. I am still shooting for the show, and am not aware of any replacements".
In the last few weeks, Star Plus has axed 'Tere Liye', 'Kaali Ek Agnipariksha', 'Sabki Laadli Bebo' and 'Chand Chupa Badal Mein'.
