That is why Asha Bhosle is such a draw, even at her age. Nihira had many songs in which she just sounded flat. She didn't go out of sur, though; but I have not seen her provide her own distinct touches to songs.

I dont think Nihira went flat anywhere, she sounded mechanical ie she lacked expression...

She innovated some songs.. her innovation of Kajra Re was good.. I loved her Hamesha Tumko Chaha and Rahen na Rahen Hum.. her Saathi Re was proably one of the best performances of SRGMP..coz the other performances made us move our feet.. her performance moved the soul..

as for hemu n karu..its hard to compare who is better... and hence hard to say who is the 'best'..solely because you HAD to perform on II.. in SRGMP it was a different ball game..if u didnt dance or somethin..its not tat u got voted out or the judges chewed off ur head for closin ur eyes... in SRGMP singing classical songs or old songs were not a passport to losin the competition..

i guess we can say who is better if we had hemu, arijit, amey, karunya all sing the same kinda songs !!

Karunya! Because he never lets me down and ALWAYS sings good!

Even when Judges said Chak De was bad....i thought it was good! 😊

I wish one day AR Rehman has a concert and brings all 5 with him, it will be a BLAST 😃

my top 3 are the same but after tat its nihira and amey for me !!!

arijit, hemu and karu are probably among the youngest and most trained contestants in reality shows..

hmmmmm, if u r looking for 'performace' then qazi n panna win hands down. Panna is perhaps a better singer cum performer.

It depends on wat u classify as a good performace. For me a good performance is not necessarily one where ppl emote thru facial expressions but instead thru their voice, and thts why i put nihu on top. Every1 of her performances move ur soul, esp saathi re. If being technicalyl perfect all the time is being mechanical then yes she was mechanical........

After nihira......comes Amey for me. He's well trained, eprhaps one of the best trained and he's a very good performer.

U know what...Hemu shd have been on II and Karu on SGMP...reason...Karu is technically perfect and his accent too is good...these were the things that were most emphasized on SGMP...
and Hemu connected so well with audiences...he could dance a bit...so his occassional glitches on pronounciation et al would have been completey ignored on II....

I would say "performance"-wise...panna!! (at least he doesn't stick his hand up and bob his head up and down a la qazi)

I think Hemu never got his due frm the judges in SRGMP.

I see ur point though.......but im glad hemu was in SRGMP----he had mroe scope to show his strengths in SRGMP thn II-2. And he was competing with ppl of his calibre lik Nihira n HImani n vinit.........i seriously wouldnt want some1 lik hemu to compete with certain participants of II-2!
