I fail to understand.....

A very nice topic Jayati..

I feel that now a days the production house the channel...every one feels that shows and soaps are held by Female lead....Tulsis,parvatis, prernas,icchas,Anandis of this industry are the main attraction of the show..maybe to indian public they are too. I don't really know what is preferred more by general public as even though i felt that all the above mentioned shows were really messed up by their longevity...the sheer length of time for which they had the run means that public watched it and liked it. So even though we feel that Mahi vij or nakkusha cannot hold the show...maybe they are betting on the fact that female power would keep teh show running as it has happened before. I so hope it doesn't though...I want the show to shut shop due to rapid fall of TRPs...now if it happens i will respect the Indian drama viewers population and its taste as little more..else...well, i always knew we met out crap on name of entertainment.So hardly matters..i'll stick to my Movies and Books.

The channel wants the show to join the beaten track of saas-bahu melodrama, multiple marriages, illicit relationships, torture and abuse of children/women/innocents all in the name of social reform 😲 They are unable to think beyond it.

Tin this is the thing which u fail everytime if u want to understand it !

Shilpi, you have made very valid points regarding the women are in top in Indian TV. I have not seen the ladies you have mentioned above but I do know Tulsi was very popular on her own right, my friends told me the lady was also a good actress, here in this serial for a change I thought the male hero was more popular and held the show together...we loved Tasha too but then when they were together, alone Mahi ...ummmm😕

They don't want to end LTL before IPL and according to me that is the only reason for contiuing the show.

They should have finished it before the world cup heat caught on and started with a new show! IPL will finish end of May and for the sake of continuity I would hate to ruin what was a beautiful story/show...

Smiriti irani was good actress...calling her great would be stretching it...But then when that show started on Amar upadhayay was equally famous as Mihir...when he went off to try his luck at films..Smriti did a great job of a widow...her acting on that one scene is still itched in my mind...but then their are Kumkums, Kashishs, jyotis etc etc etc etc....all these actresses are just average like mahi vij yet the show went on and on...i feel the fact that the maximum viewers of indian telly shows being woman this thing works...i have a sneaking feeling that even laagi would do well without Mishal as they have created the right cord of disquiet among general public...no declaration of Mishal leaving has reached the public..their are few who watch SBS,SBB etc or come to IF..infact they just watch the show and don't invest much in it..they would just want to know what happens next...what will be fate of the sad little wife gone bonkers without her loving husband...etc etc...so yeah even with substandard acting viewers will keep watching...show will have its run..

I want it fail...so badly...but i don't think it will happen overnight...I'll give it another 6 months..yes..6 more months maybe.

@Shilpi....though I never really followed KSBKBT, I believe the USP of that show was the Family....and Tulsi who kind of held them all together...and it never changed! And there were several other characters....many among them were quite popular and had their own tracks which people were quite interested in! But LTL is so entirely different from that. Here they have spent a whole year in developing TaSha's relationship and exploring the various intricacies of Dutta's personality! They have paid minimum attention to other characters...except may be Kala...but even Kala's character becomes pointless without Dutta! Clearly, this show cannot be stretched to eternity WITH Dutta in it...and they would have wrapped it up by now hadn't it been garnering great TRPs, which I guess took everyone by surprise! And without Dutta toh...everything just falls apart! So now they have an impossibly uphill task in their hands....I don't think they'll succeed!

They intend to drag the current track till the end of IPL i guess. Then maybe Dutta makes a reentry with another face, so till then they can guage the response of the viewers. As for the audiences most of them will continue to watch as they feel dutta might comeback. This is the reason that they have yet to show what happened to dutta. They have all options open. God save LTL with the current version nd the current lead. Man! if u call urself an actor there must be some acting skills to display, nd this guy cant change frm the single expression frn day one. What a joke! he is the lead actor of the show.
