DOTW: Current LTL team has no merit?

Hi Everyone!
This is I guess this is going to be my last DOTW in this forum. I have been on the forum from the day Mishal entered LTL and with Mishal's exit I am done with the show too. I have enjoyed being on the forum throughout eventhough the forum is no longer buzzing as it used to. During various stages of the show newer members kept coming and I have enjoyed discussing the show with every one. The best thing about the LTL forum has always been the interesting discussions going on. For that primarily I credit the show, its writers and actors where so much thought was put into their work thereby mentally stimulating viewers; something no other popular show has managed.
I know we are angry with the channel in general and the show in particular...but I feel the show is like my own baby...a baby which has gone awry. I still cant wish it ill and it will pain me when something awful happens with the show. Anyways what happens happens for the best...I'll pray that the LTL team which entertained us till March 25, 2011 continues to do well in the future wherever they are.

Now coming to the DOTW topic-Do you as a viewer see no merit in current LTL team?
We know Mishal is no longer a part of LTL. But rest of the LTL team has remained the same. So playing the devil's advocate here dont the current team deserve any credit from us as viewers?

-Cast of LTL is still the same minus Mishal...do these actors who have toiled along with Mishal have no merit that we feel the show is nothing without him? What about the actors who play Baji, Kala, Rups, Leela, Kishore and AS? Didnt they make LTL a wholesome affair?
-What about Mahhi who has been a strong pillar of support to Mishal. Tasha would not be Tasha if not for Mahhi. We could see the man of honour and the lost little boy in Dutta because we saw him thru Nakusha's adoring eyes. Not only that MV's comfort level with MR was amazing which came out so well as their onscreen chemistry. Would we have loved Dutta as much if not for Mahhi?
-What about the LTL writing team? The writing team has more or less remained the same. Anil Deshmukh still does the dialouges. Manoj Tripathi who does the screenplay now has been with the LTL team right from the start. Do these people have no merit?

Overall I want to know why despite the LTL team being more or less what it was when Mishal was around we are so stuck on him that we see no merit in continuing to patronizing LTL. Dont we think the current LTL team is capable to entertaining and stimulating us?

i dont know about the rest of the team but mishal was the soul of ltl and without him ltl is lifeless when a person dies only soul leaves the body even if all the body parts remain the same body stinks if it is not done away with for me all the other characters have lost the charm and i dont think they have the merit to hold my attention even for one sec as most of the scenes of ltl i cherrish would not have been as memorable if it was not for mishal eg gajar ka halwa wala scene i agree mv was also very good in the scene but mishals mischevious cute smile makes me oblivious of mvs presence in the scene some of the very common scenes which we see in almost every other love story stood out in ltl bcos of mishals exceptional execution of the scene eg realisation of love for naku scene during jmm1 i just loved the way he looked at her no writer in the world could make that scene so special for me i hope i have been able to make my point clear sorry no offence to any ltl fan

Hi Shreya, aww u r leaving as well. 😒 Will miss u alot. 🤗Awesome topic of discussion. 👍🏼 I agree that TaSha would not have been TaSha if not for Mahhi. 😳 I would have continued to watch the show without Mishal but the way Mishal's exit was handled by the channel with nasty rumors totally ruined the show for me. 😔 How can I watch anything on this channel knowing that some people are manipulating something or the other? 😒 Yes this is showbiz but there are certain limits or maybe there are none but still this channel crossed all limits and they still are not ready to admit to it. 😔 Now it's seems like it's revenge time from the channel. They purposely changed the montage so quickly knowing that the fans will be furious. How dumb can they be? Now they are only going to try their level best to make this new LTL a hit show just because they want to prove that Mishal was not the reason that this show was a success. May be I'm reading too much into this whole offscreen drama but I really feel strongly about it.
I really do wish the cast and the PH the very best with their future projects but I'm sorry I just do not have such a big heart to watch this show now. My sincere apologies. This show was a fairy tale for me and fairy tales are suppose to have happy endings and I have accepted that the show ended on 25th March 2011 and they all lived happily ever after in Patil Niwas.

For me, LTL revolved around Dutta and his relationship with the other characters. I have loved Dutta unconditionally for his strengths and his imperfections….rejoiced during his happy moments and cried with him when he despaired. For the last 14 months, I have loved Tasha and Duji …. But the common denominator has always been DUTTA.

I am eternally grateful to the entire LTL team-writers, directors, PH, all the other actors and everyone connected with LTL…. for giving me this wonderful show. A special thanks to Mahi for doing an awesome job as Dutta's beloved Nakusha. I also believe that only Mahi = Naku.

Of course, how can I forget to thank the brilliant actor, Mishal Raheja, who has breathed life and given multiple dimensions to this powerful yet endearing character, Dutta Sriram Patil? Mishal is the face of Dutta and who is responsible for making DSP the heart and soul of LTL.

To me, LTL is Dutta's saga…his journey. The show, WITHOUT the character DSP or the actor MR, ceased to exist for me after 25 March 2011. I am annoyed and feel cheated with the way the show has changed its characters, cast and story line…It is like reading an interesting novel only to finding that the last few pages have been destroyed. I have tried to give LTL my own logical ending with Tasha living happily ever after and will live with it. Also, looking forward to see Mishal in a challenging role soon...Bollywood, Hollywood or television..it doesn't matter where…wish him the very best for a happy and successful future.

This is entirely my POV and I mean no offence to any actor or their fans.😊

@Ritu: I am not leaving the forum completely but I think I'll be inactive from now on. So this was a sorta good-bye post too.
You do have a point...if MR would have got a fitting exit then maybe I would have been ok with LTL. And knowing the offscreen politics only leaves a bad taste in the mouth.

@LTLfan: Even I get the feeling the channel is anti-LTL/PH. Yesterday my doubts got reconfimed. There is a special episode of Ladoo and leads from Uttaran, BV and Phulwa are coming in it. Why was LTL lead MV left out? If not Naku they should have got in Baji atleast. Phulwa is given more preference over LTL which last week became the no. 2 show across all channels whereas Phulwa doesnt even figure in top 10.
Even i wonder why didnt they simply take off LTL when problems with MR started. 3 months was a good time to wrap up LTL and replace it with Sasural Simar Ka.

It is to the merit of the writers and creative team only that we can not fathom LTL without the characters Dutta or Nakusha. We respect their iconic creation 'Dutta',they only made him the centerpiece in the whole jigsaw puzzle. Agreed,other pieces are intact and they have prominent postions but the centerpiece is gone. The masterpiece named LTL is incomplete.

LTL was an extremely rare show where a lot of things fell into place....an excellent writing team that GENUINELY tried to come out with a different storyline style compared to the other soaps on TV.....well defined, well layered characters, excellent dialogues.....all credit to the amazing writing team👏.....and then the technical team....the directors, the cameramen, the editors, the set designers everyone lifted the show up......so the LTL team most definitely had merit despite some changes in the writing and direction department over the year.

We all agree about the phenomenal talent of MR and all that can be said about how he gave life and soul to Dutta has already been said so I won't repeat that.

The problem is politics.....the best and most talented of ppl can't do anything in the face of internal politics.....

I agree with the point made by LTLfan that at this point, this is no longer a question of politics against MR by the channel.....no, the channel just never seemed to realize the potential in LTL and never bothered with promoting it much over the year barring a few fluke times.

The writers wrote with their heart and soul.....nurtured these wonderful characters especially the most iconic Dutta.....but ultimately they weren't given the creative freedom to let the journey move ahead logically.

Yes each actor is crucial to this show.....AG makes Kala, Mahi makes Nakku, VR makes Baaji......they all LIVE these characters for us....but somewhere the writing team seems to have lost its ability to keep true to the essence of these characters (after having kept that for a long one year span.....rare in TV today)......now they seem to have lost sight of what was a clear picture to them to a large extent over the year.....now they have reached a more track mentality like Mash pointed out some days back....now there is no longer an overarching story towards which every "track" in this show used to move......now it is merely the usual "tracks" system in every other show.

Like right now the "track" is mental Nakku in a fisherman village.....previously every track was headed towards a larger picture....related to DN....to every milestone in their relationship.....whether the angsty ones or the happier ones......but as we all know.....LTL was hit with a shocking supersonic bug in the last 10 days changing everything overnight.....lol

At this point, I honestly get the sense that the writers have lost that LOVE and CARE they had for their characters over all this time.....like something has tainted it and they no longer feel like writing this with as much heart as they used to. Maybe the channel's constant arm-twisting has finally brought them to this stage.

So in everyone's best interests, this show should end.....it's lost its HEART...and no, I don't just mean MR....yes it starts with that but the writing has plummeted DRASTICALLY as well....maybe cuz that writing dept only so painstakingly and lovingly developed everything around MR as Dutta over this one year.....and now it's all gone.
