pandora, excellent post
Call me cynical but i feel that pretty much all of bollywood does good just to get some mileage out of it. Its funny that so-and-so star does "anonymous" charity and then by some miracle of "sources" its a news item next day ........ Whereas, a charity foundation is mysteriously silent on how and where it uses its money.
Jesmina, oh! how sweet of you to be considering my life ........ errrr...... i mean "no life" .......... Any tips on how i can improve
I don't think no one is against Salman doing charity Dexterphile it is good thing. But I agree with Bips why isn't there any information where the money goes? She asked some good questions? As for Salman doing charity for PR reason, maybe he is maybe he isn't does it really matter? The question is does all the money go to charity?

Wow, you come off as very immature with the personal inferences and all.
Most legitimate charities must have a clear mandate and post clearly outlined spendings, goals, progress, etc. This isn't an option but pretty much necessary to be considered legit. Think about the nutrition info on food packages, since it is exposed to consumers, it is absolutely necessary. If a food product brand decides not to have the label and their arguments are as followed:
1) We don't want to show off how nutritious our product is
2) If you don't want to buy something without a label, then don't buy it, No one is forcing you to!
3) Since you have enough time to ask about our product nutrition values, therefore you must have a lot of time in your hands! Do some research lazy bums!
4) You have no life in asking for the labels.
How do you think these arguments will hold up?
If people's hard earned money are going towards a charity, the charity needs to have its info posted for its existing donors, potential donors, and the public at large. It's the right of the public to be informed of how charity money is being spent. If a charity was donating only 1% of its profit and there's a lot of donations for it, it's taking away potentional donations from other charities which may have much more generous benefits towards society. Therefore it's better that all charities are informative on their mandate which lets the public decide where to donate based on informed facts, not star-power
