STAR PARIVAAR AWARDS 2011 - THE VENETIAN MACAO

For over a decade STAR Parivaar Awards has been bringing to its audience an unforgettable display of glory, achievement and grandeur- bringing together the various parivaars under one roof. Year after year it has been one of the most awaited events on television garnering some of the highest ratings and setting new records every time.

After celebrating years of unmatchable glory on home grounds, this year, STAR Parivaar Awards has reached out to a higher level by going international, to fulfill the dreams of every member in the family, young and old alike by taking its members to a dream destination ' The Venetian Macao and hence bringing alive the theme of this year's STAR Parivaar Awards: Honge Sapne Sakaar - STAR Parivaar.

Set against the backdrop of an exotic international locale, the journey this year will therefore be filled with glamour, entertainment and be buzzing with high energy. There will be 5 lead up properties (titled hum to chale pardes) which will showcase stories centered on memorable experiences encountered by our characters in their journey from their homes leading all the way up to the spellbinding night of the event at the Venetian, Macau.

We will be capturing in a reality show format, the various exciting moments and anxieties right from the moments the news breaks in, the journey to the Venetian Macau, the experiences at the spectacular venue, various adventures like bungee jumping, rehearsals, cultural interaction with local talents etc. We will be having an exciting glimpse of all the sights there, being explored by the parivaar artistes. We will see Akshara and Naitik in a new light. Ishaan and Suhana might experience new bond of love in a new place. Will Gopi and Aham's love blossom as much as Krishna and Pratigya's?

This will then culminate to the main event which will follow the new promise of exuberance, innovation, unforgettable, sizzling and an iconic experience. This promise of new aspirations will be relived in the trend setting location of Venetian Macau. There will be the smooth mix of their local culture with ours, lots of amazing stunts, breathtaking performances and spectacular visuals as we blend the best of both worlds - a never seen before spectacular and grand opening act and a surprise mega finale that summarises this year's wish fulfillment theme.

Living by STAR Parivaar's theme and motto of keeping the family together and all about acceptance , this year it's a new dream, but the emotions are true to the spirit of STAR Parivaar!

So guys, lets hope and pray that our favourite serial gets the most number of awards since they truly deserve it for all the hard work and effort they have put in. All the Best to the entire team of Mann Ki Awaaz...Pratigya!!

Congratulations to the SPA winners

The Star Parivaar Awards was definitely an exciting event with all the nominees hoping to bag an award. However, only a lucky few who were the audiences' favourites that went home with one. So read on to check out about the winners who won over the audience's hearts with their dynamic performances this year.

Sarita Joshi, who plays Nivedita's loving Dadi in Chand Chhupa Badal Mein, won the Favourite Buzurg award while the sweet Laboni (Supriya Shukla), of Tere Liye won the well deserved Favourite Maa award. Krishna's charming and stylish dad, Sajjan Singh (Anupam Shyam) from Mann Kee Awaaz Pratigya bagged Favourite Pita award.

The youngsters of the parivaar weren't far behind. The cousins of Saath Nibhaana Saathiya, Gopi (Jiaa Manek) and Rashi (Rucha Harbans) were both chosen ones for Favourite Naya Sadasya female while Gopi, who is a sister everyone wants to have, also won the Favourite Behen award. Gopi says, "It feels great to be recognized for my work in my very first STAR Parivaar Awards. I am very happy to win two awards."

As for Favourite Naya Sadasya Male, it was no surprise when Aditya's (Raquesh Vashisht) name from Maryaada..Lekin Kab Tak was announced. The charming Aditya wowed the audience with his pure love for Priya (Riddhi Dogra). An excited Aditya exclaims, "I am so happy that I have received my first ever award at SPA. It is even more special because the character Aditya is very close to my heart. Actually, the whole show is special because I met the love of my life Riddhi during this show. I want to thank everyone for their love and support."

Favourite Devar and Devrani went to Jigar (Vishal Singh) of Saath Nibhaana Saathiya and Nivedita (Neha Sargam) of Chand Chhupa Badal Mein respectively. Nivedita was actually surprised to win this award as she said on stage. The cute Rajni bhabhi (Bhairavi Raichura) of Sasural Genda Phool was chosen as Favourite Jethani. She says, "Unfortunately, I could not be present at the award ceremony but want to thank everyone who loved me as Rajni and voted for me."

Akshara (Hina Khan), the loving Bhabhi to Rashmi and Nandini in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai won Favourite Bhabhi award. She was cheerful and happy to receive the honour.

The ideal children from the parivaar, Ishaan (Jay Soni) from Sasural Genda Phool and Pratigya (Pooja Gor) from Mann Kee Awaaz Pratigya won Favourite Beta and Beti award respectively. Ishaan claims, "It's great to be chosen as Favourite Beta because Ishaan is really an ideal son that every parent wishes to have. Thanks to the audiences who voted for me." Pratigya's brother Adarsh truly proved to be the adarsh bhai and walked away with the Favourite Bhai award.

The parivaar also has members who turned into style icons. Their fans love following the trends set by them. It was Krishna (Arhaan Bahl) and Akshara who were chosen as the Stylish Sadasyas which was totally deserving.

The scary Brahmanand (Vishwajeet) of Maryaada..Lekin Kab Tak, who ruined the lives of many women including his daughter-in-law Priya, was the Favourite Dushman of the parivaar. Brahmanand states, "I am glad I got an award from India's leading channel. The credit goes to the Maryaada..Lekin Kab Rak team, who gave me the opportunity to play this character."

Favourite Bahu went to the childish but sweet Suhana (Ragini Khanna) of Sasural Genda Phool. The Favourite Saas award was shared by the strict Kokila (Rupal Patel) of Saath Nibhaana Saathiya and sweet Badi Maa (Supriya Pilgaonkar) of Sasural Genda Phool. Favourite Sasur was bagged by Vishambarnath (Sanjeev Seth) of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai.

It was again quite expected that Akshara's devoted husband Naitik (Karan Mehra) win the Favourite Pati ' which he did, while Pratigya (Pooja Gor) won Favourite Patni. Naitik and his better half Akshara also picked up the Hottest Jodi award. Naitik announces, "Yes we got the hottest Jodi award and I want to thank all our fans who have voted for us. Thanks also to STAR Plus for this honour."

The Saath Nibhaana Saathiya and Sasural Genda Phool Parivaar shared the Vishesh Samman awards for being the most loved families on the channel.

Bollywood superstar Hrithik Roshan, the special guest on the show, who will also be entering STAR Parivaar soon as the judge of the dance reality show ' Just Dance,was presented with the Vishisht Naya Sadasya award.

Arhaan: Krishna's USP is his language

Krishna might have a rough appearance and arrogant attitude, but deep down, he has a heart of gold. And actor Arhaan Behl feels that is the most distinguishing trait of this lovable character. Thrilled to have won the most Stylish Sadasya award at STAR Parivaar Awards, Arhaan talks about his role, why people love him, but doesn't spill the beans about his real love life.

You won the most Stylish Sadasya award at STAR Parivaar awards. How did it feel?
Every award means appreciation and I am glad that I won the Stylish Sadasya award. I couldn't attend STAR Parivaar Awards but when my team mates came back, I asked them all about Macao and the entire experience. They told me it was a lot of fun and masti.

Who is your style icon?
No one in particular. I enjoy wearing clothes that are comfortable and suit me well.

Did you regret not going to STAR Parivaar Awards?
Not really. I had prior commitments as I was shooting for Comedy Ka Maha Muqabala on STAR Plus on 22nd and 23rd Feb. I couldn't go because of that and some other personal work. Last year, I had attended STAR Parivaar awards and it was phenomenal. I won the Hottest Jodi award with Pratigya of course last year.

Krishna is an extremely popular character. What do you think people like most about him?
Krishna is loved for his simplicity- the most I feel. He is loyal, lovable and the trait that stands out in Krishna is that he loves his wife Pratigya a lot. He doesn't hide his love either, in fact he is very transparent about his love for her. He is a very clean hearted person and with him – what you see is what you get. Such a trait, is very rare in people, so I think Krishna has made a place in the hearts of the audiences.

What do you like most about Krishna?
I love everything about him. I am playing this role and he is projected via me, my body language and acting, so I love Krishna. Krishna is me and I am Krishna [smiles]. I think the USP of Krishna is his language, the way he talks, his pauses, his gestures. After the creatives gave me the brief and story, I knew Krishna would be spectacular. I worked hard on the character and my production team too has been very helpful with suggestions and critique.

What do you think of Pooja Gor aka Pratigya?
She is a talented actress and working with her has been a good experience.

Do you think girls like Pratigya exist in real life?
Well, Pratigya is a perfect woman. She gets 10/10 for everything -be it her nature, her behaviour, her ability to deliver, fulfilling her responsibilities towards her family. She is bang on with all that she does. I don't think any woman can be like her. It would be very difficult to be so proper and correct all the time.

What does television mean to you?
Television means entertainment, good source of fun and a major part of life. I don't know of people who don't watch television today. Some might like news channels, or discovery channel or serials or music but everyone watches television.

The content on television has changed over the years. People go on and on about saas-bahu shows showing such and such things, but they forget that there are certain reality shows that show worse things. I don't want to take names but there are shows wherein a group of girls and boys would behave in a certain way which makes a deep impression on our youth. The teenagers copy the body language, bad attitude, style and way of thinking from such shows. Many youngsters believe and take after a lot that is shown on these shows which is bad for them.

What do you think of talent on television currently?
Being on television is a tough job. Television actors don't have it easy as not only do we work hard shooting 12-20 hours a day, 6-7 times a week depending on the show. We also get scripts and the scenes of an episode only one hour before the shoot. If an episode has to be delivered we have shot for 5-6 lengthy scenes in one day which is very tough.

There have been various stories about your close friendship with Avantika who plays Aarushi in Mann Ke Awaaz... Pratigya. Are you dating her?
No comment. Lots has been written about this, so I don't want to talk about it.

COINCIDENTLY JUST HAPPENED TO WATCH P GETTING FAV BETI AWARD.. SHE THANKED ARHAAN FOR BEING A WONDERFUL CO ACTOR AND THEN THE REST SHE ADDRESSED AS THANK YOU TO ALL MY CO ACTORS.. WOW SHE GOT FAV BETI BUT SHE MENTIONED ARHAAN HMMM SHE HESITATED BEFORE SAYING CO STAR

i think we just got 4 awards if my maths is correct and this is d least no of awards any of the leading shows have got

it was a big let down i watched the whole show just to know what those so called 8 awards were😡

such a big waste of time it was😡

or should i say that the mahaan star plus has edited those awards ( khoobsoorat rishta and yaadgar pal) which v might have received

and wat else to say there was no pooja's performance😡

in the end no KRIYA no star plus for me......
