oo this topic is really nice.
I personally think that we need to fuse old and new togehter to get a 100% of anything. When new ideas are created, old ideas help and test them out. If one thing didnt work in the past, the new one could be modified and made better. Instead of thinking that one time or generation is better than the next, we should learn to compormise and combine ideas and experience. This would help us all move forward in which ever subject we choose.

I honestly hate all this remix/remake stuff...it just proves that ppl can't beat the classics, nd can't think of new stuff to become classics.

i think like i am gonna sound like the dumb oddball here but whatever.....i think remixes are better...every generation has new beats, new music...old is good but every generation adds their own new taste and flava to the music....
i personally like music u can dance to and jam to....so looove remixes....i dun really like old music!!! i agree with prakriti about the whole mixing themem - but isn't that hwta we are basically doing in remixes???!!
older music is good on days, when u7 r down, and just need to wallow for some time...lolz....but new music, u can jam to it at parties and in dance clubs!!!...just randomly while sitting at boring study hall in school....at home, just like white noise in the background (my home is very quite and without music we get echoes...lolz)....
all this stuff u can't do with old music....think how parties will be if only old music is played...how r u gonna dance and get excited???
old music is good in its own place but i dun think we give enuff credit to new music....those remixes are some really catchy, dancable beats...like i never heard some original oldies but i've heard like 5 different remixes of them!!!
thats just my opinion...
peace, gunia

btw, nice discussion topic!!!
