Jayesh returns home (where were you all these months? Anyway, nice to see you again. But where are the kids?) Jayesh goes into the bathroom, and Savita goes to gather his shirt, and smells it, and asks him from outside the bathroom about whether he bought a perfume? Jayesh tells her that he was in a meeting w/ his boss, and his boss sprayed some on him.
Later, while Jayesh is eating, Savita suggests that he spend some money on himself, instead of always on her & the kids, and get some of that expensive perfume (Jayesh-dada, it's called cologne when one talks about men. Perfume is for women 😆) so that his boss won't scold him (how shallow do you think his boss is? Besides, it's the scent, rather than the price tag that matters 😆) She suggests he get himself some new clothes. Jayesh praises her cooking. As for the clothes & perfume, he'll see later - now, things are tight.
Savi is about to protest, but Jayesh tells her that the perfume scent is nothing compared to the aroma of her food. 😆❤️ and asks for more.
Savita enters Jayesh's office w/ his tiffin, where he's in his own room scolding his attractive secretary for her work. He asks her to correct her work and not go home b4 that. A peon comes to Savita and asks her to sit down and wait.
Jayesh dismisses the secretary, who while leaving cusses him, and Savita goes up to her and asks her whether she thinks her hubby is a bhopu? (Poor secretary - either boss chews her head off, or his wife does 😆) The secretary apologizes, and Savita tells her that the name is good. She asks her whether Jayesh scolds her or not?
The secretary tells Savita that everyone in the office ogles her, but Jayesh doesn't even look @ her, no matter what she does. (Whew, Jayesh, got saved here... Was wondering where this was headed) She asks Savita whether she's that unattractive? Savita laughs & tells her that his eyes have probably gone weak. The secretary tells her not to snitch this to Jayesh, or else, he'll give her a new punishment. Savita agrees.
Savita then goes in and gives him his tiffin. Jayesh tells her that there was no need to, since he could have eaten in the canteen like everyone else. Savita perks up and tells him that (I can see this coming... the no outside food rule) that while she's alive, Jayesh cannot eat... outside food!!! (Yeah what did I tell ya?) Jayesh complains that she's treating him like the kids. Just then, his phone rings, and Jayesh looks nervously @ the screen and doesn't answer it. He asks Savi to leave, and that he'll eat it later. His micro-managing wife tells him to eat it quickly, or else, it'll get cold (is microwaving home food outside also verboten? 😆)
Savi leaves, and Jayesh answers the call. He frowns @ what he hears.
That night, Savi is in her room, when Jayesh enters, totally crestfallen. Savi sees him and offers to get him his dinner, but he stops her. He tells her that he's sold the jewelry & arranged for the money. Savi asks her why he's tense.
Jayesh tells her that he's tense for her sake. He is embarrassed about selling her wedding jewelry. He couldn't give her anything, but on the contrary, sold things that were given to her by her father. Savita gives him a mini bhashan about a griha-Lakshmi being one who saved her family from all troubles and unites her family. She tells him that she has no regrets about not having the jewelry, but it does hurt her to see him unhappy. She tells him to get ready, and she'll prepare his meal.
She stops as she sees Apu & Swati, and Jayesh asks them why they've not yet slept? (Yipppie, the kids are back!!! But they look younger than they did a year ago 😆) The kids tell them they don't want new clothes for Gudi pardva. They have plenty of clothes, and will wear those.
Jayesh hugs them, and tells them that he had once promised himself that he'd never compromise on his kids things, and wouldn't let them mature b4 their age, but is disappointed w/ himself that it's not happened. Savita tells them that their happiness came from him, not material things. They hug.
Next day, Savita is preparing for the puja, and the kids are helping her. She asks them to change, and Jayesh appears and gives them new clothes. The kids are excited, but Savi is shocked to see that. The kids go off to change, and Savita asks him about it. Jayesh takes out a few jewelry boxes and gives it to her. He tells her that after selling her jewelry & paying off all debts, there was some money left, so he bought their clothes and the jewelry for her. 😳 Jayesh tells her that every Gudi pardva, he sees her dress up, and wants to see that this year as well. He tells her that they are fake, but promises her that very soon, he'll give her new jewelry.
In Sakshi's home, she's crying when the phone rings. It's Savita, and she asks Sakshi how she is, and Sakshi tells her that she was just talking to Sandhya. Savita asks her why was she crying? Sakshi tells her that she was crying remembering their baba.
Savita asks her whether their father would have liked that, and that he'd want them to be happy. However, in trying to stop Sakshi from crying, Savita herself breaks down (should one laugh or cry? Don't answer that!) Savita orders her to stop crying, and tells her that the sasural wouldn't like them shedding tears for their baba (speaking of sasural, where's Adi? And besides, don't say that - except Rohit & Yuvraj, everybody, including Neeraj, was very supportive of their baba) She asks her to focus on her work in her home.
Sakshi tells her that this is what she was explaining to Sandhya as well. Savita is shocked to hear that. But there is a big difference b/w understanding and explaining. Savita reminds her how their father thought Sakshi was the most savvy of the sisters, and that's what she has to demonstrate.
The two of them tearfully let go of the phone, and in Savi's background, a photo of Shyamrao appears. 😭
First things first. If you wanted to know what happened to Sarla, and what decision Shradhya took, and missed today's episode for the cricket, you missed squat!!! Just resume watching tomorrow. But aside from that, it was a sweet episode.
I'm glad to see the tais back, but one thing. If today's episode was a Gudi Pardva special, shouldn't they have shown a bit of it in the other 3 sisters houses - Shreya's, as well as Sandhya's & Shradhya's? If Sandhya had this sort of a conversation w/ Sakshi, it seems pretty strange given that they've just discovered a dead Sarla in their house, and today, there was nothing about it
Anyway, glad to see them back. But I thought Savita had already pawned her jewelry once when she was struggling to keep Dipesh from possessing their house. I thought it was a bit ridiculous to sell wedding jewelry to buy clothes for one year's festival, when that's a recurring event. Other than that, the entire episode was sweet. But it looked almost like a whole different serial, w/ no links to Sandhya's & Shradhya's tracks, except for a brief mention of Sandhya by Sakshi.
One thing I don't get - is the serial supposed to end this week or next? If this week, I didn't get the point of an episode not showing Sandhya at all. So much is happening w/ Sandhya & Shradhya, and looks like they took a holiday to watch cricket, perhaps? And if they showed Sakshi, why not Adi & his kids? Yeah, I know Sachin is too busy in BV, but his kids could have made an appearance?
Hope we continue to see more of Savita, Sakshi, Shradhya and even Shreya. As well as see what's going on in Neeraj's home.
