😆Amazing episode, let us hand it over to Ekta and her creative team, Kasamh Se is going great guns….every episode is a surprise and a treat! So here goes the update:
The episode begins with Jai prowling in his living room like a Tiger waiting for his victim to come. Bani and Rano enter and are obviously scared like hell at seeing Mr. Walia looking thunderous! In what I thought was a classic Bani move, she tell Rano softly but firmly to go to her room. Rano obliges instantly and Bani comes and stands near Jai, all ready to bear the brunt of his anger! Jai instantly begins his tirade against Bani and tells her that inspite of knowing that he is trying to destroy Pia and Pushkar, she still has the guts to go to their house to spend her evening. As Bani listens, with her face downcast, Jai further tells her that how much more oil will she pour over his troubled waters and does Bani derive happiness from making Jai miserable (Wow…what an allegation, look who's speaking?). Jai then really roars in anger and asks a still quite Bani that how dare she step outside the house without his permission and that too for going to Pia and Pushkar's house. Jai then tells her that he had given her some work to do and why did she leave it in between to go and enjoy at her sister's house.
Bani is now holding back her tears and tells him calmly that she knows her duty and had completed and work and then left for Pia's house. Jai is again livid with her and further insults her that she is selfish and always bothered about herself and her sisters. Bani is now really upset and still trying to hold back her tears tells Jai in a calm and very hurt voice that, yes I did go to Pia and Pushkar's house, but it was not for any enjoyment but to attend her Mother's Havan. Jai is stunned into silence and in an instant; his face becomes terribly remorseful and very guilt-ridden. Bani then decides to finally speak out in front of Jai and tells him that she knows Jai's aim is to destroy Pia and Pushakr, but then is there anything left to destroy, they are already destroyed and have nothing except each other's support.
As Jai listens in complete silence, Bani now has tears in her eyes and tells him that Pia is not just a sister to her, but almost like a daughter and Bani has been a Mother to both her sisters. Jai is stunned and turns his face towards Bani, who looks pretty emotional and poignant now and tells Jai that just place yourself in my position and you will understand how difficult it is for a Mother to ever let go of her children. Bani then tells Jai that she has never felt so lonely before and that she is missing her Mother terribly. Bani finally says that today she fells like an Orphan and is now getting to know what it means by not having your Parents in your life. Jai looks as if the Earth could swallow him and his eyes become very pained and hurt looking at Bani standing there, all alone, without any love or support in her life and calling herself an Orphan….and suddenly it looks as if Jai realizes what is he doing to her and to himself?
Then the beautiful Jagjit Singh ghazal plays in the background….Koi fariyaad tere dil mein chupi ho jaise, tune aaknhon se koi baat kahi ho jaise…..Jai and Bani (who is still weeping silently) keep looking at one another (beautiful scene!) and then Jai takes his gaze off her face and slowly walks out of the room!👏
The next scene is shown in silence as Bani is shown putting her bed on the floor (right next to Jai's bed…clever girl!) and Jai comes in his room….Bani turns and looks at him and Jai keeps looking at her…..super-sentimental sequence. The song again begins….with the line, Tune aankhon se koi baat kahi ho jaise……"Jai keeps looking at Bani and flungs his cell phone on the bed and walks away from her. The song stops and the cell phone is shown ringing constantly, Bani looks around for Jai, but he is not there, so she hesitates for a while and then puts her hand ahead to pick up his phone, just then Jai's hand is shown on top of Bani's hand….ELECTIC SCENE! Bani is stunned and so is Jai and for a moment they both keep looking at one another…..with their hands together…..Awww, such an emotional scene, then Bani suddenly withdraws her hand and Jai picks up the phone.😳
As Bani overhears (she has to, she is in the same room) Jai looks thrilled at the sound of the voice on the other end and Bani is amazed to see the change in mood that occurs. Jai is talking like a child now, all excited and emotional. It's our much awaited Billo Mausi on the other end and Jai is thrilled to hear her voice. Then to the shock and surprise of Bani, Jai is seen getting very emotional (he sounds like a school boy who refuses to go back to his Boarding after vacations!) and kind of sounds terribly upset and tells Mausi that she cannot do this and she had promised to come and she has to come. As Bani is intently listening to Jai, who seems to have forgotten that his wife is in the same room, Jai begins crying…poor cuddles….and tells Mausi that he is missing his mother so much and that after Mom's death, she has been his only support and now when he needs her the most, she is not there. And then as a hurt and ached Bani listens, Jai tells Mausi that he has never felt so lonely in his life, ever since Mother died, then Mausi went away and then Pushkar….(Does Mausi know about Pushky?) Jai then ends the very emotional dialogue with Mausi making her promise that she will come to India.😭
As he switches off his cell, his eyes are moist and as he turns around, so are Bani's eyes brimming with tears….Jai then tells Bani in a very soft and understanding manner that he fully understands Bani's position and since she is like a Mother to Pia, she is bound to protect her and care for her. As Bani listens on in silence, Jai says that this was the same bond he shared with Pushkar, like Pia was a daughter to Bani, Pushkar was a son to Jai and this even Bani should know how a parent feels when their own child betrays them and back-stabs them. Bani is stunned and crying now….Jai then gets a very soft look in his eyes and tells Bani in a mellow, almost inaudible voice that its really unfortunate that he shares such a relationship with Bani and that she has to go through so much of pain and loneliness and Jai understands that. Bani looks surprised and hopeful now, seeing Jai's complete change of tone and manner, but then Jai gets a cold, stony look on his face and tells Bani that he has no issues with her personally but since Pia happens to be her sister, Bani will have to pay for what Pia did….just like a parent pay up for his child's mistakes. Bani is stunned as Jai looks unforgiving and unrelenting!😔
Jai is then shown sitting in his study looking very pre-occupied and confused, remembering Bani's statement that she is very lonely….just then Jigyasa comes with a file and tells Jai that Ranveer had given it to her for Jai's signature. Jai is broken out of his reviere and looks irritatedely at Jigs and snatches the file from her hand. As Jigs looks on very thrilled, Jai's expression changes from a lost one to one of complete disbelief and anger and he yells on Jigyasa, asking what the hell this is. Jigs pretends that she has no idea and says that Ranveer was the one who handed this to her to be given to Jai. The file basically has some papers singed by Bani which shows a withdrawal of Rs. 70 lakhs. Jai looks totally upset and amazed, while Jigs seizes the opportunity and tells Jai that what does he think Bani went to Pia's house for her Mother's Pooja. No, she went to Pia's house to tell them how she is enjoying her status as Mrs. Jai Walia and look how she is squandering her husband's wealth. Jai is sitting like a stone sculpture while Jigyasa goes on about what a selfish and self-centered girl is Bani and that what does Jai think, she is staying in the house for, its for his money and not for Jai. Jigyasa then says that one day she will take all his money and then go and live with her sisters, letting Jai rot in hell. Jai just keeps sitting without any expression and then as Jigyasa stops, he gets up in extreme anger and walks out of the Study. Jigyasa looks thrilled and calls up Ranveer on his cell and tells him that his job has been done, and his Mother is the best! (Yeah best at being a beast!)😡
Jai is shown going to his room and he sits on his bed (wondering where Bani vanished…I think she slept off) and all what Bani had just told him about her loneliness and her helplessness towards her sisters ring in his head and then all that Jigyasa told him, especially the part about Bani living in the house for Jai's wealth and not for him comes splashing across. Jai looks as if he will go mad with the voices in his head. Jai then tells himself, "Bani tumnein bhi mera bharosa tod diya……"😭
Next morning, the Camera captures Jai stretching his arms (Oh…man, and then some people ask us Cuddle-supporters, why we find him sexy!) and waking up…and the first thing he does is see besides his bed, looking for Bani! But our "Aadarsh Indian wife" has already woken up, freshened up, done her Pooja Paath and is shown getting Tea for Mr. Kahdoos! As Bani comes in, looking just bewitching in a bright pink salwar kameez with the Tea tray in her hand and places it on the table. Jai doesn't turn to look around, Bani gives him one look and then turns to go out. Jai then speaks out in a very sarcastic and biting tone, "Chai rakh ke aap kahan chal di, my darling wife." Bani is totally shocked and turns around to look at Jai who is now facing her. Bani looks puzzled & mystified, wondering what has bitten her husband first thing in the morning. Jai comes near Bani and with a cold and threatening tone tells her that what she is doing is very risky and she doesn't know that she is playing with fire and one day when it gets out of control, she will be burnt to cinders. Bani just keeps looking perplexed, not understanding a word that Jai is saying. Jai then tells her that if she thinks she will get any of his money by swindling him, she is very wrong….Bani just keeps standing in her spot, totally befuddled by what Jai has told him.
Jai is shown striding to his office looking very upset and he tells one of his account officer to get the transaction files. The guy gets the file and hands it over to Jai, who dismisses the guy then. Jai goes through the file and his expression turns from confusion, to anger to supreme antagonism and fury. He looks as if he is planning to have Bani for dinner tonight!🤢
The scene at Walia house shows that Dadi is busy cutting raw mangoes (Kairi) and stuffing it with pickle masala. Bani comes in looking slightly cheerful and asks Dadi what is she doing with so many mangoes. Dadi tells her to come and sit and then says that she is making pickle for her Jai Puttar. Bani looks surprised (Yeah, Jai really doesn't seem the types who would enjoy something interesting like Pickles….) and Dadi tells Bani that when Jai was a kid, his Mother, mausi and Dadi used to make pickles together. Bani now looks really interested and Dadi further says that Jai's mother died very early and then the onus of Jai came upon Billo and herself and since Jai loves Aam ka achaar, Billo used to make it earlier for him and now she does. Bani looks very touched by what Dadi just told her and then in a very Bani-like manner tells Dadi that let me take it over from you, I will do the rest of the stuffing. Dadi is very pleased and tells a blushing Bani that yes, I will teach you how to make Achaar that Jai loves so much.😳
Another scene shows that Saahil and Rano are in his room, she is busy putting on her contact lenses and Saahil is busy flirting with her….much to Rano's amusement this time! Sahil is saying something about how nice she would look without specs and Rano is mumbling something in reply. Just then Dracula Mata Jigyasa is walking by and listens to voices coming from Saahil's room and wonders who this girl in his room is. As Jigyasa goes inside, she is shocked out of her wits to see Saahil leaning over Rano. Actually, he was just helping her with the lenses, but for Jigs it seemed as if they were doing something totally else. Jigyasa is furious and screams on Rano that after one sister who ran away with Pushkar and the other who is hell bent on making her brother's life miserable, now she is trying to ensnare her son. Saahil looks devastated and tries to stop his Mother but Jigyasa shuts him up completely and as he looks on helplessly, Jigyasa really lambastes Rano and calls her all sort of names and slurs her character. Rano begins to cry and then Jigyasa tells her that let Jai Bhaiyaa come to know of this, he will throw her out this very instance. Saahil looks mortified and tries to stop Jigs, but she is already dragging Rano by her arms (what a horrid woman) and takes her outside.
Just then Jai has entered the house and the first thing he sees is Bani preparing Achaar. He is looking really upset and irritated (so what is new, Mr. Walia?) and then Dadi very pleasantly tells him, "Arre Jai puttar tu aagay. Dekh me Bani ko tere liye aam ka achaar banana sikha rahi hoon." Just then Bani realizes Jai is here, and she looks very self-conscious and hesitantly at Jai, who looks as if he is going to stuff the same achaar into Bani's face!😆
Suddenly everyone looks up as Jigyasa screams from above that see Jai Bhaiyaa what is your wife's sister doing in this house, now you will have to take a decision. Jai who is already in a bad mood shouts back on Jigyasa that what the hell is going on here. Bani and Dadi are completely taken aback and confused and Bani is shocked at seeing Rano crying and being dragged by Jigyasa.😲
Summary and Comments:
Koi fariyaad tere dil mein dabi ho jaise…: Finally Bani speaks like she should have….she opens her heart to Jai….and he opens his to her! Wonderful scene between Jai and Bani downstairs when Bani tells Jai about her loneliness and Jai's eyes fill with pain and hurt at seeing Bani so dejected! Then the wonderful bedroom sequence (this bedroom is lucky for them!) where Jai's hand falls on Bani's while trying to pick up the cell phone….Billo Mausi is already playing cupid, aane se bhi pehle!😉
Two lonely souls….God just made them for one another : Jai really is taken aback when Bani tells him about her state of affairs…its not as if Jai didn't know about it, but hearing it from someone as inexpressive and quiet as Bani did shake him up! And even if for a moment, he really felt bad for her and fully understood her pain and anguish….but Jai's ego at this moment is too bloated for him to see anyone's tears, least of all Bani's! As far as Jai is concerned, he really didn't have to say in front of Bani that he is lonely too, she knows it already….but it was really heart-warming to see her cry for him…Jai, doesn't know what a gem he has!😳
Jai should learn to trust himself first and then others : Jai knows Bani inside out and he also knows Jigyasa and Ranveer inside out. Then why on Earth did he ever belive a single word that Jigyasa tells him today…..sometimes Jai is just beyond understanding! Of all the people in the World, Bani would be the last one to take a penny from Jai…and he still suspects her of swindling his money to the tune of Rs. 70 lakhs..and that too on Ranveer and Jigyasa's words…As they say in Sanskrit, "Vinash kaal, viprit buddhi" which means, when your time of destruction has come, the first thing to get destroyed is your own mind!😡
Jai's insecurity is a proof of his unrealized love for Bani : Jai was most hurt by the fact that Bani is in the house for his money and not for him…as Jigs informs him. What is interesting is that this piece of information hurts him…that means he cares like hell for Bani….and wants her to live in the house for his sake…and that is why he feels so disturbed when Jigs tells him that the day Bani gets all his money, she will leave him! If Jai doesn't care for Bani, why on Earth is he so insecure about her???
Bani's growing affection for Jai….is it Love? : Yes, it is, if you ask me! Bani opens up in front of the man who is hell bent on destroying her, she shows her weakness to the man, who is waiting to seize an opportunity to get back to her….and she is doing all this, fully aware of Jai's hatred for her! Bani tells Jai that she knows he hates her and that she knows it gives him happiness to see her hurt…and if that is the case, then let it be so…if it makes him happy to see her hurt, then let him have the happiness…..Bani is surely on the path to a self-destructive love….she is knowingly falling in love with a man, who has vowed to erase her out…what can one say for such a girl! Except all the best, Bani! 😊
Stand-out Scene : The entire episode was rocking, but the living room sequence where Bani breaks down infront of Jai and then the bedroom sequence, where the mobile thing happens, to Jai crying on the phone and then the conversation with Bani was splendid! Also, the scene where Jai has voices resonating in his head was done wonderfully!👏
Performance Barometer : Ram and Prachi rocked today, as they always do. But today, their performance was quite a cut above…as it was an emotional episode. Wonderful body language, flawless expressions and excellent dialogue delivery….these two never seem to miss the mark! And what a chemistry they share…..they are like a house on fire! Its impossible to believe that two people who actually share an age gap of 20 years in real life could look so perfect with each other on screen. Kudos to them for making magic in Kasamh Se!👏
