Behenein: Anand's out, Akshay's in
Actor Anand Suryavanshi was playing a middle-aged businessman Jay, in Behenein, till a twist in the plot called for an older Jay to romance Smriti (Shiju Kataria).
The channel felt Anand would look incongruous playing a middle-aged character, so they've replaced him with the senior Akshay Anand, who has played slightly older roles earlier too.
If Anand is disappointed he's not showing it. He confirms, "Yes, it's true I am not a part of the show any more. My replacement was a mutual decision taken by me and the production house. It was very sweet of the producer to have called me and explained the needs of the character in relation to the story. I guess it's a fair decision," he ended sportingly.
"Hope the audience accepts me as Jay!" chirped a thrilled Akshay, who has already started shooting for the show.
