The answer to that question when he left Geet in Airport and slept with her would be No.
I would have loved to see him in the jail. But once he returned to his family and maan forgave him he was a changed man. He was regretting his actions started searching for geet.
He wanted to confess to maan before he knew geet was his fiancee..
But CV's had planned otherwise. I think he suffered and repented his actions. I agree that punishing through law would have set an example. But CV's are showing that even if you escape from the hands of law, you will get punished for your actions. He married geet in first place because he wanted to keep naina tara happy. He wanted to come back to his family. But lost everything even after accepting his fault. He confessed to the police. But due to Nainatara he didnt get a easy chance to repent sitting in tha jail. Instead he lost all the loved ones... even meera..
Even in great books it is written repenting and trying to correct your actions will wipe out your sins.
He is not justifying his actions like Naintara, but standing upto them. I know CV's are trying to paint Nt as the evil one. Both were at fault but Naina tara knew that Geet was pregnant DEv did not.
If geet's family can be forgiven then I think DEV should also be forgiven if he is really repenting.
Geet's family were her own where as Dev was a stranger.
I know I will get lot of bashing......
But I just want to put forward my opinion....
Misunderstanding between maan and geet that is totally a different topic.
