03/23-24/2011: Anjali's new plan - by Sarla

Previous episode
In the last episode, Sandhya was somewhat miffed @ Neeraj, but outwardly agreed to forgive Sarla, while realizing to herself that she had to prove Sarla's malefides to Neeraj

Rohit woke up in the middle of the night and went to the kitchen, and took Shradhya to her room. All the while, he was tender towards her, while Sarla was somewhat nervous. Finally, he took her to her bed.

Sarla had a secret session w/ Anjali where both are happy that nobody knows that they know each other. Sarla tells Anjali that she followed the wrong tactics so far, which would only earn her Neeraj's resentment. After berating Anjali for expecting instant gratification, she told Anjali that the only way to win Neeraj would be to turn him against Sandhya, and cost her the confidence that Dadaji & Baa have in her. To that end, Sarla suggested to her a plan.

Next day, Sandhya sees Anjali working in the kitchen, and Anjali tells her that she wants to learn to cook and earn the same accolades that Sandhya does. On her request, Sandhya helps her make tea, and praises her for it. Anjali takes it to Anmol and surprises him, and asks him to taste it. Anmol praises it, but Anjali, after tasting it, hates it 🤣 She then forces Anmol to have both the cups of tea, and orders him to praise her tea outside to others, since he pretended to like it.

Now, on to today...

Rohit asks Shradhya to conceal their relationship from Abha
Rohit & Shradhya are asleep in bed, and Shradhya wakes up happy to see him next to her. She gets up, and goes to the puja (a crystal ball w/ a bride & groom in it look really out of place here for this family, given how stingy they are)

In the puja, Shradhya thanks the deity for changing her hubby's attitude towards her, and her life as a result. She then goes and makes tea, and leaves the kitchen happy, leaving her MIL surprised and happy. She goes to the bedroom and doesn't find him there.

Rohit comes there and asks her to cover her face, and then tells her to act like nothing has happened b/w them, and that his baba shouldn't know that the vrath had been broken. Shradhya is shocked to hear this. Rohit explains to her that he's never dared disobey him, so if Abha knew that the vrath had been broken, his wrath would come down on both of them. So they have to be quiet about it. It's good that he woke early, or had his father seen him there, he'd have buried him there. Shradhya is upset.

Rohit leaves, and Shradhya is heart broken.

Kitchen talk
Sandhya is in the kitchen when Purvi comes in. She demands to know whether Sandhya made Anjali work in the kitchen. Sandhya admits that she helped her make tea in the morning, and Purvi scolds her, telling her that until today, her parents never allowed her into the kitchen (that explains so much)

Sandhya tells her that she wasn't making Anjali work, and it was Anjali who asked her for tips, and told her that she wanted to learn how to cook, which is why Sandhya was showing her how. Purvi doesn't believe that Anjali is capable of either asking that or doing it. She accuses Sandhya of asserting her jethani role on Anjali.

At this point, Sarla comes into the kitchen and tells Purvi that Sandhya is Anjali's jethani, but it's true that it was Anjali who asked for this. Sandhya looks @ her very curiously. Purvi asks her how did she know that? Sarla tells her that it was she who told Anjali that she needs to know all the chores of the house, especially the kitchen chores. Sarla tells Purvi that her sister is a very good girl, so it's only appropriate that she know how to do all the wife duties well, and asks her whether she won't be happy when Anjali starts getting praised? Her hubby will praise her, and let alone Purvi, her parents will be happy on hearing how pleased Anjali's sasural is w/ her. Sarla tells Purvi that as a bahu, she should know all that, and that's why she told Anjali...

Purvi tells her that she doesn't believe her, and that Sarla is just saying this to save Sandhya (if only Purvi knew the special relationship b/w Sandhya & Sarla, just like Anjali did) At this point, Anjali comes in and backs up what Sarla said.

Purvi tells Anjali that she should have told her, if that's what she wants. Anjali concedes that, but tells her that nobody cooks better than Sandhya in this house. That's why she picked Sandhya, so that she too gets praised. Sandhya adds that Anjali was very excited to learn, but suggests that Anjali should learn from Purvi since she makes better tea, and Purvi leaves in disgust.

Sarla asks Sandhya what exactly she does that everyone is singing her praises, since everyone does cook? She offers to help Sandhya cook, and learn from her in the process. Sandhya feigns being friendly, and tells Sarla that she's a guest, and therefore can't be allowed to work. She should instead rest, and if she still wants to do something, she should do it for Baa - she likes listening to the bhajans or the Ramayan. Maybe she too would gain peace by doing that. Sarla leaves, and Anjali follows.

Rohit humiliates Shradhya again
In Rohit's home, Shradhya is in the kitchen preparing the rice, when her MIL comes in and asks her what's wrong - she seemed really happy in the morning. She was happy to see her happy after so long - what happened? Shradhya tells her that in the morning, she had dreams of being loved, but it turned out to be just that - dreams. Therefore, it was bound to end. That was it.

That evening, Shradhya comes to the room where Rohit & Abha are, and Rohit asks her whether she slept in the guest room last night? 😡 Shradhya is shocked @ the question, but admits it, and Rohit orders her to clean up that room. Oh, and the fixtures in that room should shine more than her. Shradhya leaves

Abha congratulates him and tells him that if he kept his wife underfoot like this, he'd always be happy. Rohit assures him he will, and even hit her if needed, but a glare from Abha reminds him of the earlier broken vrath, and he agrees not to do that. He then wonders whose son he is 😆 and Abha glares @ him, but he reassures him. Abha leaves, and Rohit is disgusted @ the situation.

Sandhya wonders about Sarla & Anjali
Sandhya is in her room wondering how Sarla recovered so fast. Also, she wonders why she praised Anjali and suggested that she learn all the domestic chores? She suspects something fishy about this friendship b/w Sarla & Anjali. She wonders whether Sarla is using Anjali to get back @ her? As it is, she was suspicious about Anjali reforming so fast, and now Sarla chachi.

Neeraj arrives and is surprised that Anjali is now learning cooking, and that too from Sandhya. Sandhya tells him that she did come to her in the morning to ask for that favor. Neeraj is incredulous that someone could have changed so much overnight - he can hardly believe it. Sandhya tells him that even she couldn't believe it, but later, she learnt that she's doing it @ the behest of Sarla chachi.

Neeraj said that he knew that Sarla chachi was like that - that anybody who stayed w/ her would become like her 😆 See how quickly Anjali's changed? Sandhya wonders what Sarla told Anjali that inspired her to suddenly want to work in the kitchen? Until yesterday, she thought that it was the domain of servants, and today, she wants to know how to cook? She tells Neeraj that when a girl is ready to marry, by then her mom would have taught her the family specialties about cooking. Anjali never learnt it from her mom, but suddenly she wants to learn it @ the behest of Sarla chachi? (And that too not from her own sister Purvi?)

Neeraj asks her what's her point, and Sandhya lets go of it and tells him that if Sarla is the one to have convinced Anjali to do this, it would be something to rejoice about. She tells him to get refreshed, and she'll get him coffee.

Anjali abuses Anmol again
Anmol is in his room ironing his clothes, and Anjali comes in, and sees a whole bunch of clothes neatly ironed on the bed. She asks him what the time is, and it's 9pm. She orders him to clear up the bed, since she's very sleepy. Anmol starts working on it.

Anjali's phone rings, and she tells the friend that she has another appointment tomorrow that her sister must have forgotten about. She tells her that they won't be able to go this week - maybe next.

Anjali then confronts Anmol for plotting w/ her sister to meet her friends. Anmol denies it. Anjali accuses him of using her sister when his desires didn't work w/ her, and tells him that she's ashamed to admit to her friends that he's her hubby. He looks like an idiot, in addition to being one: a few shares from her father's company, and he's on cloud 9? She warns him for the last time - to stay within his limits. She reminds him that she's only pretending to be his wife, which is a lot for him. He doesn't have to pretend to be her hubby in front of her family, so she orders him to tell her sister that he's not prepared to go to any dinner or party w/ her. And if she tells him in future, he's to refuse.

A sad Anmol goes to the ironing table and thinks. 😭

In the previous episode, I didn't like Shradhya just letting Rohit do what he wanted. She should at least have perked up and insisted that he drop his demand for her father's house b4 anything, as well as apolgize for his behavior the last 3 years. It was galling to see Rohit getting away w/ something just short of murder. But today, Rohit's double-face persona emerged - one Rohit who in absense of Abha can be a loving hubby, and another who continues to humiliate her in front of his father. Shradhya, please pull the plug now!!! Rohit is not worth keeping as a husband.

After the way Sandhya trusted Neeraj on Anjali's shenanigans, I'm disappointed that Neeraj didn't return the favor about Sarla. And Sandhya - why didn't you tell Neeraj about everything that went on in the Jagirdar house? That way, he would at least have understood where you're coming from. But Neeraj too seems to be lacking in brains - how can he not see what Sandhya's seeing - that Anjali, who never showed any inclination for domestic work in her maayka, is suddenly so influenced by Sarla? As a result, Sandhya is forced to conceal from Neeraj what she's really thinking. But she did well to play along w/ his desire not to be suspicious. Honestly, I'm not liking Neeraj's saintly attitude, even though I understand his gratitude. Neeraj, it's not your dad who was killed by the Jagirdars.

I'm happy that Sandhya is on the right track towards guessing that Sarla & Anjali are working together. For Sarla, it was important that Sandhya have no clue that she and Anjali were colluding, but Sandhya is now suspicious of that very thing, and can be counted on to be careful. Hopefully, she gets Anjali to learn these things from Purvi, thereby deflecting the attacks on her from Purvi, and then, find out from Anmol what's going on. Given how Sandhya is on top of these, I think she's likely to sabotage Sarla's plans w/o much damage.

Speaking of Anmol, seeing him continuously tortured by Anjali is getting old - I'm really hoping that Sandhya catches Anjali in this behavior, records it and takes it straight to both Dadaji as well as Anjali's parents. Humiliate her openly. If Anjali is disgraced and threatened w/ expulsion, Sarla will be much weaker. Incidentally, how do GB and Sarita disappear the moment Sarla comes in? In reality, Sandhya has 5 enemies now in the house, and it would be nice if she could expose Anjali to Sarita, and crack this coalition.

Here we see another unconditional love for one's spouse, first being Shradhya and now Amol. For a guy like Amol, I hope he distance himself from Anjali and refrains from talking to her and her filthy friends! He should go out more and perhaps reside somewhere for a bit, just till he gets enough time to forget about his feelings for Anjali. I can't say much for Anjali having any change of heart for Amol. Although we are seeing similar incidence between the two couples, she isn't like Rohit, she is very stubborn and well ambitious now that she has Sarla at her arsenal.


As for Rohit, well I was mad as hell to not see him stand up to his old man. What a wimp! I'm pretty sure he will have his moment to finally sum up the courage to step out of his father's shadow. Can't wait for that to occur, seeing him fight and argue with his father would be something very fun to watch!

Where is GB? I wanted to see her face when Daddaji allowed another person to stay in their Dharmshala. I wanted to see if she would side with Sandhya on not allowing Sarla to live in this house.

Ya Sandhya really needs to find out about Amol's struggle with Anjali.
