The Shadows of Darkness – Part One (Fan Fiction)
A sole gasoline lamp swings back and forth, creaking every now and then, as it swings back and forth. It being the only source of light, the rays of light that travel from the lamp, illuminate enough light, to be able to make out shadows in the small cubical room. Cobwebs hang from corners of the murky off-white ceiling, and white sheets are wrapped over the little furniture that is in the room, which is a small four poster bed, a single wooden chair lays in the far right corner of the room, a broken crystal vase lies in the center of the room, pieces of the vase that have detached from the vase, surround it, and on one particular piece, is stain of a drop of deep red blood and lastly on the left hand side of the room, stands an art board, on a stand, and on it's first page, is a colorful painting that consists of a background of streams running through green valleys and rain forests, and in the center, a girl is swinging on a swing, her hair flying is behind her, and her white scarf almost covering her entire body.
A woman walks into the room, with every step the wooden floor creaks, her eyes cloud up, and tears well up in her eyes, she bends down, and lightly touches the broken crystal vase, and feels an instant invisible pinch, a memory immediately follows, she remembers a swing, and a girl sitting on it, and someone pushing her, yet she cannot seem to get details of the memory, she pushes her mind harder but nevertheless, she cannot remember the people in her memory. Disheartened, she looks around the room, and stands up, and walks over to the art board, she lightly fingers the painting, and immediately she remembers the same swing memory, but this time, there are three people, one pushing the girl on the swing, and another, painting the girl. She grasps her forehead as a piercing ache envelops her.
"Aap ko jo dekhna tha, apne dekhliya." The woman jolts out of her reverie with sudden shock, and finds someone at the door, anticipating a reply. She replies "haan, maine dekhliya hai, aap chahe toh isse kamre ko band karsakte hai." Saying this, she walks out of the room and out into the cool night air, inhaling deeply. The man secures the lock on the door, and comes up to her, "Niyatiji, aap apna purse andar chor ayee thi, leejiye." He hands over her purse to her, which she takes slowly, without dispending her mixed thoughts on her memories. The woman tightens the scarf around her shoulders, as the chilly air really touches her skin this time. As the man is about to go, she stops him. "Suniye, waise yaha retha kaun tha?" An instant smile spreads across the guy's face, "Angad…Angad Khanna."
Preview: A deep, dark mystery is unfolding, slowly but steadly, the woman finds herself in a puzzle of her identity, who is she, where does she come from, and why is she there?
