Anu Ranjan's cause against female foeticide 'beti' was applauded by CM of Haryana Shri Bhupender Singh Hooda who said that Haryana has taken many preventive steps in reducing the male female imbalance.
Rani said "I endorse this wonderful cause called 'beti' and fully support this initiative. It feels great to share the stage with such incredible women achievers from all over the country. I am humbled by this honour to felicitate me as the actress of the decade. It is such a wonderful platform to honour women from different walks of life and bring them under the same roof"
Raveena added "I feel privileged to be part of the 10th anniversary celebrations especially because I was one of the lucky ones to be honoured in the first ever edition of the GR8! Women Awards back in 2002. It is heartening to see that the stage has become so huge and magnificent and so many women are being appreciated for work done in various aspects of society. Hope the canvas of GR8! and 'beti' grows even bigger in the next decade"
10th Annual Kelvinator GR8! Women Awards 2011 (Press release) ?Pre-event
The 10th Annual Kelvinator GR8! Women Awards 2011, organized by Anu & Shashi Ranjan, was held on 7th Feb 2011 as a mega event at Kingdom of Dreams Gurgaon. Awards were given to women achievers from various fields in about 31 different categories including Sports, Lifestyle, Films, Entertainment, Medicine, Beauty, Fashion & Style, Law, Music Advertising, Corporate and Entrepreneur among others. There was also a special tribute to 'beti' - Anu Ranjan's campaign against female foeticide. Prominent politicians like Ambika Soni and Shri Bhupinder Singh Hooda ji also graced the evening. The event will be telecast on 6th March on Sony TV.
Speaking on the occasion Anu Ranjan, Editor ? GR8! Magazine said "The theme of 'beti' or campaign against female foeticide is central to the women awards held each year. This is the 10th year for our awards and only the second time we are in North India. It is truly a Pan India award with achievers from different regions being felicitated. We also initiated a short film contest on 'beti' last year, where people are requested to send messages against female foeticide in the the form of a 45 second film. Of these entries the best film is awarded a cheque of Rs. 1 Lakh and the video becomes part of the official documentary of 'beti'."

Padma Bandopadhyaya, Rashmi Uday Singh, Farah Khan Ali, Dr. Shikha Sharma, Raell Padamsee, Nicole Faria, Rina Dhaka, Vandana Luthra, Pony Verma, Raveena Tandon Thadani, (Lifetime) Nimmi Raza, Rani Mukherji, Mamta Sharma, Ambika Soni & Special Award - Bravery Anuradha Gautam ? among others.
A bevy of personalities from the glam world, performed at the glittering ceremony. These included Rashami Desai, Sanjeeda Sheikh, Aashka Goradia, Suhasi Goradia, Gaurav Khanna, Jay Soni, Aamir Ali, Karan Wahi. The show was anchored by Manish Paul, Kavita Kaushik & Bharti Singh.
