New Delhi, Dec 31 Yash Raj Films Television will be back with its second innings on Sony Entertainment Television, this time with ''Khote Sikkey'' - a story highlighting how rich and spoilt children are indulging in crime these days.

New Delhi, Dec 31 (IANS) Yash Raj Films Television will be back with its second innings on Sony Entertainment Television, this time with 'Khote Sikkey' - a story highlighting how rich and spoilt children are indulging in crime these days.

The show, which will be dominated by fresh faces, will go on air in January.

'Khote Sikkey' traces the story of an unlikely gang - five privileged youngsters and one stubborn cop who manage to solve various crimes. It will be a bi-weekly show with a new, fictional case in focus every week.

But the basic premise of the show is how the rich in the urban cities are getting richer by the day and their crimes are getting more random and more uncontrollable, said a source.

YRF Television, the television arm of entertainment conglomerate Yash Raj Films, had earlier launched shows like 'Mahi Way', 'Rishta.com', 'Powder' or 'Seven' which were very distinct in their storytelling and quality. But they failed to garner Television Rating Points (TRPs) too well.

However, a sequel to 'Mahi Way' is in the offing, according to sources.

YRF is back with a bang, and it will be their unique concept, Khotey Sikkey that will be the first fiction launch on Sony in the New Year..

YRF is back again on the small screen with their next unique venture Khotey Sikkey which is the story of five affluent youngsters and an honest cop who walk on the path of eradicating urban crime in the society.

The show which will air on Sony will trace the lives of these five grown-up individuals who are into drugs, use a lot of weapons, drive fast cars, party a lot and interact with people who are involved in nefarious activities.

Our source states, "The story of Khote Sikkey will open up when all these five people are locked up in jail for committing one or the other crime. This is when the cop realizes that these people have the money, power and the approach to get to the notorious people creating a menace with urban crime. The cop then forces these youngsters to help out the police in wiping out crime from the city".

YRF team has shot for the show in real-life situations and the episodes have come out well.

Hasan Zaidi who was part of YRF's Rishta.com and Powder comes back to the small screen with a lead role in the show. The other four leads are relatively new to the small screen.

Our source states, "Hasan plays the character of Mohit who is a complete alcoholic, and a street car racer. He is one character who buries a lot of anger within him, as his girl friend is in coma due to a mishap that he committed earlier. Then you have Purush Chibber who essays the role of Hameer Rizvi who is an out and out gambler. Dilkush plays the role of Delnaaz who is totally into drugs. Sukhmini Sadhana plays Uttara who is a typical recluse and does not like to be in a company. Mark Parikh essays Ayush who is a computer hacker. The role of the honest yet adamant cop is played by Vikas Kumar who was earlier seen in Powder".

Khotey Sikkey is expected to launch on January 21st and will be a bi-weekly, airing on Friday and Saturday.

This product from YRF appears to be the hottest property on Sony Entertainment Television right now, and we are sure viewers would await its launch..

After the cast and crew of Dil Toh Bacha Hai Ji spread their smile on the sets of Sony's Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa, it is the turn of the 'Khotey Sikkey' to get into action next week!!

The leads faces of Sony's upcoming fiction show, produced by YRF will grace Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa as celebrity guests next week.

A khabroo informs us, "The cop in the show Damodar Deshmukh, played byVikas Kumar along with his five Khotey Sikkey played by Hasan Zaidi, Puru Chibber, Sukhmani Sadana, Mark Farokh Parakh and Dilkush Reporter will be seen in Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa. The cast will be seen shaking their legs, performing on the title track of their show. The cast recently performed in the CID Gallantry Awards too".

Khotey Sikkey will launch on 28th January and will air every Friday and Saturday at the 11 PM slot. The show will trace the lives of five individuals who are involved in nefarious activities, and will depict their quest to eradicate urban crime under the guidance of a determined cop.

A source from the channel confirmed our news saying, "Yes, the cast will come on Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa for the promotion and will perform some acts."

An actor from the Khotey Sikkey team too confirmed the same..

The lead cast of Sony's new show Khote Sikkey strike a common factor of being great music lovers...

YRF's Khote Sikkey on Sony TV as we know, is the tale of five youngsters who are forced to help the police in stopping urban crime!! We hear that in addition to the five 'Sikkey' striking a super combination of being intelligent brats, they share a common passion off screen, and that is towards 'Music'!!.

A little birdie from the sets informs, "The environment on the sets is very musical and all of them are always in a musical mood. Hasan Zaidi and Sukhmani who essay Mohit and Uttara, are often seen playing their guitars on the set. Mark Farokh Parakh who essays Ayush in the show is a piano player. Apart from the cast, the DOP of the show also is very much interested in music".

"The sound recorder of the show also gets time out to have a musical time with the guys. The entire gang is seen either playing their favorite instruments, or singing whenever they have free time. Vikas Kumar and Mark also fill in as singers, and have a fabulous voice", adds our source.

Recently, while the entire cast was busy taking off their make-up after a hectic day of shoot, they started singing together and it was one big bash that everyone who witnessed it enjoyed..

We contacted Hasan Zaidi and he confirmed, "Yes, we all are music freaks and have lot of fun on the sets. Most of the cast is related to music in one or the other way. While few sing well, Sukhmani and I play good guitar, and Mark comes with abundant talent. So we together have a blast on the sets when free".

Guess the 'Khotey Sikkey' have already started proving their worth in one way or the other...

Vikas Kumar commands respect from his 'Khotey Sikkeys'

Vikas Kumar the perfectionist at work is respected a lot by the young brigade working with him in Sony's Khotey Sikkey..

YRF and Sony TV's second series of shows have kick-started with Khotey Sikkey which tells us the story of inspector Damodar Deshmukh and his five handed army.

The viewers have indeed seen the way how the Khotey Sikkeys are giving a knotty time to Bauji while taming them for their tasks. But the scenario off the screen is quite a contrary.

Our source says "Vikas Kumar, who plays Inspector Deshmukh is pretty experienced than this young brigade professionally and his 5 Ikke treat him with lot of respect in real life, so much so that they all call him 'Bauji' and touch his feet when they come for shoot in the morning and while leaving the sets in the evening also. Not only that, they have saved his number as 'Bauji' in their phones."

Well, this is what we call 'Guru Bhakti'...

Sanjay Nath will play a Don in tonight's episode of Sony's Khote Sikkey...

Sanjay Nath who essayed the role of Pinakin in Imagine's Bandini will be seen in an episodic in Sony's Khotey Sikkey, the tale of five youngsters who get trapped in a journey of helping the police. Sanjay will play the character of Pinto a ruthless yet famous Don in Goa. The episode will be aired tonight.

We contacted Sanjay who confirmed the news "Yes I am playing the character of Pinto who is a cold blooded murderer. The character is very strong, and I was never in favor of doing an episodic but when I heard the narration I could not refuse".

Pinto's daughter gets killed by the police which includes the gang of the five Khotey Sikkeys, and the story moves forward when the Don gets back at the police to take revenge..

Sanjay Nath was to play a very important character in Sahara One's Ganga Kii Dheej, but could not take it up due to certain confusions..

Talking about it, Sanjay tells TellyBuzz, "I recently underwent a disappointing phase in my career. I was to do a movie with John Abraham titled 'Force'. At the same time, I was offered the role in Ganga Kii Dheej. The movie got into some problem as John opted out of it, all of a sudden. This is when they relieved my dates from the movie, and I took up the Sahara One show. I had just started shooting for it in Mysore, Karnataka when I got a call again for the movie. They had by then resolved their issue with John and wanted me to get back to them immediately. I took some time to opt out of the Sahara show and eventually lost up on both the offers".
