I think desi girls are very innocent. Almost everyone says well we don't celebrate v day, oh i care less, i am a lone fish, its a buiss, it is nonsense you know, oh i rather marry in jungle in t shirt and jeans, i hate big weddings, i m happy single, i have no boy friends, i cant afford all this in my life.

In their heart they wish they had someone (who the like) in their life lol..dont know this is my 6th sense. if true then this is very innocent of desi girls.

@ topic ..no need to ban anything. dont believe in it, ignore it.

@ girls being innocent:

I think you're still thinking about those days. In fact, I saw a few girls getting drunk and vomitting outside a hotel one day. They sure as hell arent being given freedom anymore.

I agree with your second paragraph. When valentines day comes, I never say "I don't need it anyway, I have better things to do". I just say hmm ok cool LOL I think the sour grapes mentality acts as a self defense mechanism against depression? That;s not being innocent, that's just being foolish by pretending to not want it. Call it whatever you want, though.

Agree with your last line.

Hi obj. ok some good points. see that was my thinking and impression. maybe you can see my post in context of traditional desi girls lol.
depression is a strong word. i think it is innocence in some way. many of us dont have or dont get things we want and like and even if we pretend then its not sour grapes. nothing wrong in it.
u tc and dont u go anywhere lol.

errrr, do I know you? 😕

anyway, I agree, but love is diferent from other material things like fancy clothes, lifestyle etc. Loneliness is perhaps the worst thing that a human being(a social animal) can experience, so thats why I used the word depression.

Anyway, I'm just toning down comin to IF, might leave later on.

why do we observe anniversaries?all sorts of anniversaries- birth, wedding, death, anniversaries of triumph and tragedies? They are milestones along the way. They help remind us how far or... not so far.. we have come since we started, they also make us think of how much further we still have to go.
Anniversaries are a two way street, accomodating both past and future, in a present that is forever changing. This looking back and looking forward at the same time - reflects many seeming dualities which are really one, just as past and future are one, tied together by the elusive knot of the present.

People say, everyday love should be celebrated. It's true. People don't love someone more on Valentines day or something.
But then again, it's not everyday you get gifts or something. Are you ready to give chocolates and everything to your true love everyday ? I don't think so. Not everybody get gifts everyday, unless their BF is some rich brat, lol.

So, I just think it's ok to have a valentines day, where you get this nice little, special gift from your loved one. 😊

Btw, this is what Andy Roddick had to say : Valentine's Day was created by women to get men in trouble. 😆

My boyfriend and I did not celebrate Valentines day...its like everyone is expected to give their partner something on THIS day and that's just not as exciting as when my bf would randomly get me chocolate or flowers when im least expecting it. We both believe that we should do things like that when we feel like it, not on a specified day!
