Laxmi's big fat Gujarati wedding

No desi TV soap these days is complete without the protagonist's elaborate wedding within a month or two after its launch. True to the formula, Sanskar Laxmi will showcase a week-long big fat wedding from Monday to Friday next week and if that is not enough, the wedding will be telecast again as a two-hour special on Sunday. As the show is based in Gujarat, Laxmi's wedding to Sooraj will be a traditionalist's dream, full of elaborate rituals and festivities, scrumptious cuisines, vibrant and colourful clothing and dances. Producer Rajesh Joshi has roped in popular Gujarati actor Hiten Kumar to be a part of Laxmi's wedding.
The channel is also in talks with Indipop singers Preeti and Pinki to put together a grand garba night in complete Gujarati style. The show's protagonist, a village belle, never had any extravagant dreams and aspirations but with her marriage in the Purohit family, her journey will begin from a small existence in Dharigam to Mumbai which will be the turning point in the show.
