Definitely since it is an international language and is useful for doing business. In India English is pretty widely used.
But also learn some Mandarin as trade with China is growing.

Of course, where will the ones interested in the language like myself go then? 'Sides, English is a most widely spoken language - its essential for everybody to know it. People not well-versed in English also speak it in a way here in India - forming a Hindi and English lingo. Therefore, no English is a downright loss! 😳

YES ji

Why?

Because it's a language that can give you livelihood. A person with no proper english doesn't get a job these days even if he's a math genius 😃 To me, english is a BEAUTIFUL language. It can be fast, quick, fine and simple at the same time, it can be an extremely ornamnetal, heart-breakingly beautiful language with also a stifling tyranny to it. I'm an SI, and trust me, IDK what I would have done if english never existed.. In my language, saying a simple word as "sorry" is sooo complicated.... it really makes me wonder how my grandparents lived through awkward, complicated conversations. Because, to me, to have a convo in pure telugu makes me wish I were dumb. :/ No offense, all languages are beautiful.. but this is my POV, I find english making conversations simple, easy, quick and neat..
This reminds me that I have to work on my englisss..

And hey, just imagine a world with groups of kids speaking different languages 😕 It would be crazy! There should be a medium through which a person can approach the others and the environment no matter which corner of the world he goes to.

If they want to compete in a global economy - Yes.
If they are happy being hobbits in the shire - No.

Now the question is, should an 'English test' be made compulsory to post on an English discussion board?
