hey guys....thnx for your lovely comments....
n thnx for liking it...
here is the next part....

SIX

Maan's car was a new model, black BMW sedan, with a plush, grey interior. Geet settled onto the seat with a sigh of pleasure, inhaling the heavenly aroma of rich leather in the process.

Sleep, she thought.🥱 It was a twenty minute drive to her house, and then she could sleep, sleep, sleep. And during the drive she would not pay any attention to Mr. Maan Singh Khurana.

The man was a menace. His masculinity had an effect on her, a distinct effect, making her aware of her own femininity. She had felt the desire, the heat, and pulsating deep in her; A very unwelcome and unwanted desire.

Big deal, she thought, leaning her head back and closing her eyes. It didn't mean a thing. It had all been a result of her being tired and weary. He was driving her home, she would bid him adieu, and that would be that. She would never see him again.

Never? Never again gaze into those incredible deep brown eyes? Never again imagine what it might feel like to sink her fingers in those thick black hairs? Never again see his sensual lips, his rugged features, his handsome face, and the wide shoulders? Never again'.

(So Ms. Handa also feeling something😉)

Oye Geet, please. Chup ho jaaa. Think about sleep, and shut up.

She blanked her mind and drifted off.🥱

Beautiful, Maan thought, glancing at her. He quickly diverted his attention to the rush hour traffic. He was certain that she was asleep. Her breathing was slow and steady, her face relaxed and lovely.

It would be nice to think that she was so comfortable in his presence, and trusted him enough, that she was able to doze off. Nice, but not true. She was probably exhausted and would probably have fallen asleep even if he was the miscreant Jack the Ripper.

Oh God, he thought, with a slight smile on his face. He really enjoyed her vocab of words describing him😆. Geet Handa was a fascinating woman. Unique. Intelligent. Talented. Gorgeous.😲

But Geet as an assignment given to him by his sister?

Maan frowned and narrowed his eyes in concentration. He had to think this through in a logical manner. That wouldn't be tough, he thought.

Getting her to take a fresh look at her life, balancing work and play, was very important to Annie and Pari. That made sense. A concern for another person's well being is the basis of friendship.

Annie, due to her extremely pregnant condition, should be spared with any kind of stress or strain. Geet's work habits were causing her stress. If he agreed to look after her, he would be able to remove said stress from Annie's life.

(Little did he know what his sister is planning?😆)

He certainly hadn't planned to grant Annie her ridiculous request. No, sir, this was to be a rare moment in history when his little sister wouldn't get her way when dealing with her big bro Maan.

But, well, having twins is a serious business, and making certain that they don't arrive early was in itself difficult. He still thought Annie's idea was ridiculous, and he was absolutely not going to be manipulated into agreeing to do it.

What he was going to do, was ask Geet to go out on social basis, and ask her to re-examine her priorities, because he had decided it would be beneficial to Annie's state of mind. He was being a loyal and loving brother, a true-blue Khurana.👍🏼

There, now. He had it all figured out and under control. Annie might think she'd pushed him again and that she had manipulated him into taking this assignment, but he knew better.😈

He glanced at Geet.

Time has come to do what he was supposed to do.

NOTE:

guys, in this, the character of Geet is of a writer, a novel or sometimes short story writer...

she writes in Urdu mainly mixed with Hindi...

she is a popular writer....n her books get translated in English also...

so this is the reason that her vocab in all the three languages is strong...n thats y use of such words...

in case of any confusion...

SEVEN

Darkness had fallen by the time Maan reached the address Geet had given him. He found himself in an affluent neighbourhood of large, modern style homes.

As he drove slowly along the driveway, motion sensing lights came alive, illuminating the entire front of the house.

Maan glanced over Geet to see if the sudden brightness had awakened her, but she slept on. She still didn't stir when he stopped the car and turned off the engine.

He stared at her for a long time, resisting the urge to lean across the seat and kiss her inviting and slightly parted lips😳. By sheer force of his mind, he switched his attention to the exterior of the house.

Constructed in a modern manner, it was one storey with tall, narrow windows, and outer wall covered with stoned, with dark wood front door. Low, deep green shrubs covered the sides of the house, giving it a perfect finishing touch.

Maan nodded in approval, and then turned to look at Geet again. He raised one hand and gently placed it on her shoulder, increasing the pressure of his fingers enough to give her a small shake.

"Geet?" he said. "You're home. Wake up so you can go to sleep.😕" He frowned; that sounded so stupid. "Geet, Geet, rise and shine."

"Nahin, humne kaha," she mumbled, settling deeper into the seat. "Hame sone dijiye."

Maan grinned, once again captured by Geet's words.

"Shayad, Shehzaadi Geet," he said, "aapke liye apne khwaabon se uthkar, naazuk kadam badhakar, apne iss aashiyane ke shayan kaksh me pravesh kar vishram karna uchit rahega.😲" Not bad, Maan. He was getting a hang of this stuff. "Shehzaadi Geet?"

She slowly lifted her lashes, and then a puzzled expression settled on her face.

"What? Where?" She started, then suddenly straightened. "Woh, main'." She looked at Maan. "Main so gayi thi. That was so rude of me. I'm sorry."

"Don't give it another thought. Jyda mat sochiye. And waise bhi, I'm a laid-back driver, and you happened to be a very exhausted passenger."

"I won't argue with you on that," she said, opening the car door. "All I can think about is getting into my bed."

Interesting thought, Maan mused, as he got out of the car.

(Me wondering ye interesting kuch jyada nahi ho gaya. Starting se ye hi keh rahe hain Mr. Maan Singh Khurana.😆😉)

Geet went to the front door, yawning as she inserted the key in the lock. Maan pulled the luggage from the car, managing to take the four pieces in one trip, and followed Geet inside to set the suitcases in the entry hall.

He swept his gaze over as much of the interior of the house as he could see. Geet had decorated her house in muted tones of yellow, brown, and creamy white, creating a soothing, cool, earthy atmosphere.

"Nice," he said, nodding. "You're home is very nice."

"Thank you. I'd give you a tour, but I'm so tired that I'd probably get lost." Geet yawned again. "I'm a total wreck."

"Kya aapka asbaab aapke kaksh tak lekar jaoon, Shehzaadi Geet?"

Geet giggled, then blinked as she realized she'd made the ridiculous sound.

"Nahi, khaadim," she said, with a flip of one hand. "Takliya." She smiled. "Thank you for the ride home, Maan. It was a pleasure meeting you, and I apologize for my odd behaviour at the bookstore. When I'm this exhausted, I'm not myself. "

"Well Miss Whoever-you-are," he said, smiling, "I was wondering if you'd have dinner with me tomorrow night?"

"Dinner? Oh sure. Fine, bye." She turned and started to walk away.

"Geet?"

She stopped and looked at Maan over one shoulder. "Hmm?"

"Don't you think you should lock the door behind me when I leave?"

"Oh, haan. Of course I should. Babaji, pata nahi mera dimag kahan hai?"

"Already in your bed asleep.😆" He went to the door and Geet shuffled forward to grip the knob. "Seven-thirty."

"It is?😕" she said, appearing confused. "No its not that late, is it? Well, ho sakta hai." She shrugged. "Who cares?"

"No, no, I'll pick you up at seven-thirty tomorrow night for dinner." He paused. "Are you going to remember having this conversation?"

"Of course. No problem."

Maan took one step back into the house and dropped a quick kiss on her forehead.

"Good," he said. "I'll see you then." Excellent. His assignment was officially launched👍🏼. "Sleep well, Geet."

Geet closed the door slowly, then locked it. The fingertips of one hand floated up to touch her forehead, still tingled from Maan's kiss.

"Hey Babaji," she mumbled. "Oye Geet, go to bed now."

Ten minutes later, she slipped between the cold sheets on her king-size bed, and was asleep the instant she laid her head on those soft pillows.
