Yes, am talking about the difference in character between the mother, Mrs Merchant (will just call her Dadi 😆) and her son, Madhav Merchant.
-Son says, it doesn't matter if it's a boy or girl. He already had in mind two names for the unborn child. If it were a girl, she'll be Miranaalini and if it were a boy, Aditya Raj would be the name. He's confident that a daughter can run the Merchant empire just as good as a son. While Dadi, on the other hand, was dead sure that it was going to be a boy and a boy only. (Probably because of the continuation of the family name) All i would say is, thank god it was a boy and not a girl because if it were otherwise i can only imagine the state the daughter-in-law would be. Probably criticised and given crude comments by her mother-in-law.
-Dadi reprimands her chauffeur for getting her saucer filled with coffee. Asks her chauffeur if he thinks she's some kinda gawaar who drinks their coffee off the saucer. It just goes to show that Dadi takes full pride in being the elite society and clearly looks down upon those who are of lower standards than her. Then we have Madhav who was so very humble to his employee, Vishvanathan. He accepts Vishvanthan's gift graciously (which am sure Dadi would have refused if given to her 😆) AND even invites him to the house the next time. She walks with her nose up in the air oblivious to the people surrounding her while he stops and talks to people. She's proud, he's humble.
-In the scene with Sir Albert, Madhav says, money is not everything. His does business so that it benefits the country as a whole and not just himself alone. Power to him is nothing but helping the country is something to him. Seems like Dadi loves the power that her family has achieved over the years or is she just so very proud of the family's achievements?
-Aditya comes home with a Silver Medal and Dadi isn't pleased. She opens her mouth only to have pass a comment that a Silver medal indicates that one has lost out to a Gold one. I don't know if that is encouraging or not 😳🤣 I would have started crying if someone told me that 🤣🤣🤣 Jokes apart, she brings her pota to to the Library to give a summary of the Merchant history. Tells (not ask 🤣) him sit on the chair 🤣 Wants her grandson to achieve the exact same achivements as his father be it in competitions or studies. Where's the childhood then?
One thing in common is of course both grandmother and father have decided the future for Aditya. However the way he's being trained is where another difference lie i feel. Dadi seems more pressurising while Madhav seems to be laid back about it. That scene with Sir Albert, he claims that, "The baby isn't even born yet and we're talking about it's future already?"
I wonder if Madhav was brought up the same way. If that were the case, no surprise he has achieved so much but what a shocker that he hasn't attributed the same qualities as his mother. Hmm i think Dada was deffo nicer than Dadi 😆😆😆
Off topic : Show started off well.😃 Looking forward to it! Gotta say, that scene with Kabir and his sister in which she was teaching him multiplications was very very sweet! There was just something about it. Two of them, despite not being blood related, have a very special brother/sister relationship with each other. My favourite scene throughout the whole episode.
